What are people saying about Osaka

Our best tour of our trip
Our tour guide Bryan was absolutely the best we have had on our back to back cruises. He communicated great before the trip and met us at the cruise terminal. Bryan walked us through purchasing 1 day subway tickets and we headed into town. We had a special request to go to a fabric store which was fortunately on our route to the castle. We the went to the castle which was very impressive. Next was the fish market and lunch where we had the local favorite, Okonomiyaki, a pancake style dish with various toppings, it was fabulous. At some point we headed back to the cruise ship via the subway. It was a very hot day In the low 90's with almost 100% humidity, it felt like 103 degrees. Bryan was very accommodating using elevators, staying in the shade and using a slower pace for us. We would highly recommend this tour and be sure to request, Bryan, he is outstanding.

Great tour with Kevin!
Our family, including 2 teens, loved the food tour with Kevin, who had great energy, and was super fun. We enjoyed all the food choices (plenty of food!) and we were able to see many interesting spots in Osaka which we would not otherwise have seen as we were just passing through.

A definitely must when visiting osaka
Excellent tour. Our guide was excellent was funny and had insights on the area from the history to the customs. We were able to try many different snacks and drinks from Osaka. All the spots were hidden gems which is what we were hoping for. He even invited us to an additional spot that was not part of trip (additional cash cost on it end). The tour and food was everything we hoped for. I'd definitely recommend it.

A great tour from Amy!
Amy was a fantastic tour guide from start to finish! Our group was big and she did a great job keeping everyone together and happy. Her happiness was infectious and made this tour more enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the bamboo forest and the naughty deer. Thank you Amy!

The "Osaka Ultimate...
The "Osaka Ultimate Walking Tour" with Adam was simply outstanding and exceeded my expectations in every way. Adam impresses not only with his extensive knowledge of Osaka but also with his ability to convey history, culture and everyday life in a lively and entertaining way. I was particularly impressed by how well-structured the tour was: An ideal mix of famous landmarks and hidden gems that I would have hardly discovered on my own.

Wonderful sites at a quick pace
Our guide was wonderful and really made an effort to educate us as we drove between sites, so we'd know just what sites to expect and how much time we'd have - she made it fun and had a sense of humor. You really must download WhatsApp if the guides recommend it - they use it to reiterate tourism destinations and info, pin where to find the bus or parking lost, what time to be back, etc. Two members of the tour put us all in a terrible position - they were not using their phones, who knows what they were doing in Nara, but they caused us to run 20 minutes late. She did everything she could but it's Japan - everything and everyone is on time! It's just common courtesy on a tour like this and frankly you should not sign up if you can't follow simple rules. We were forced to leave them behind due to the nature of those time-specific parking lots... but it was a happy ending, as the couple just caught up to us by taking a taxi to the next site. It was unfortunate, and she clearly did everything possible - but how can you help someone who won't answer their phone? Anyway as I said they just found us again, and they obediently stuck to her side for the rest of the day. All that aside - I loved Nara; I think I would spend a half day there to really enjoy the museums, the deer, the Buddha. 90 minutes was too short! Visiting Uji was very special as I'm a green tea fan and they had some great shops. You *must* have cash for their cafes. The trip to Kyoto and the gates was satisfying to see, though by the end of the day it was extremely crowded and a little unpleasant due to the heat. I'm very glad I did this tour as it allowed me to see a lot, and I only hope that I can come back to Japan to linger in these beautiful towns. Grateful to the guide for making this a smooth trip.

Good 4 hours tour, I highly recommed it
Great tour if you want to see some iconic Osaka sports in 4 hours. I took a private tour. Ichiro was an excellent guide, well informed about every place we visit. We visit the Osaka Castle exterior, an some of the most touristic streets in the city centre. We walk and we use the subway. The tour is good because you dont waste time in shops like in other tours, and you can enjoy places walking around with some interesting historic context.

Walking Osaka
The experience was EXACTLY as described. You will walk a lot, see a lot, and learn a lot. If the description is something that sounds appealing to you, it will be.
Taka was great. Would recommend. I brought an umbrella to block the sun, would recommend.

Pros: Very memorable and...
Pros: Very memorable and informative tour, exploring areas of Osaka influenced by yakuza. Lots of fascinating history going through the low-income areas. Some dark stuff, but the tour still felt safe because it is Japan.
Neutral: I didn't realize we were going through an active red light district at the end! For some reason I thought it was a historic former site or something. Surreal looking part of town that is technically a restaurant district.
Cons: Although the tour guide was very talkative and friendly, they also had a lot of personal opinions thrown into the tour that could rub some people the wrong way.

Amazing day trip
Amanohashidate is a must do with family. It was by far the most fun we’ve had in Kyoto so far. Yes it takes 2 hours to get there and back, but there was plenty of time to explore. Jay, our guide, was both hilarious and knowledgeable. He made the trip even more memorable for us with his wit. Highly recommend this getaway to singles and to families. The chairlift ride is a must-do and the highlight of the excursion.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Japan's second city, Osaka, is an exciting destination in its own right, and it provides a base for exploring beyond the city. Osaka day trips are often themed to suit a particular interest or niche activity, from food tours to exploring backstreets that you might not otherwise find. Tours beyond the city visit some of western Japan's most beautiful and iconic landmarks, including ancient temples and castles, traditional villages, and sites of spiritual significance. Whatever your reason for taking a day trip to or from Osaka, you'll find a suitable tour.
