What are people saying about Normandy

The tour was wonderful,...
The tour was wonderful, very complete, and the guide also made the effort to speak to us in Spanish, which we greatly appreciated. She also took us to the German cemetery, which was not originally included in the itinerary, because we were very interested in seeing it. She was delightful at all times, especially when she kindly offered to take family photos for us. We had a wonderful day — a totally recommendable experience.

Magnificent Mont Ste Michel
We had a marvelous time. Our guide, July or rather Juliet, I believe, was absolutely spectacular. She picked us promptly at 8:00, expertly drove us thru the beautiful French countryside to Mont Ste Michel. Which is much more magnificent in person than any picture could ever capture. July expertly informed us about the history of the Abbey & village from it's inception to modern time. Explaining how this marvel was built and the history surrounding the various changes to it over time. She had the added duty of guiding me up and down the various levels, as I have a bad hip. She kindly did so with much care for me and my not so young anymore, companions. The place itself was truly great but her compassionate and very pleasant demeanor made for a most memorable experience. We’ve traveled the world and she is one of the most pleasant & best informed guides we’ve ever had.

A Masterpiece of a Tour!
Matt went above and beyond all of our expectations in every way. His historical and military knowledge of D-Day is absolutely incredible, the result of interviews with first-hand witnesses - including Normandy locals and D-Day veterans - and rigorous academic study. It isn't all facts and figures, though. Matt's tour brings a very Human perspective of D-Day through masterful storytelling giving an immersive experience we've never seen anywhere else. The tour is clearly years in the making, and we are so proud that Matt continues his pursuit to keep our shared History of defending Freedom alive.

My Final Bucket List Tour
For me personally it was the fulfillment of a trip often thought about but not acted upon till now. Having spent six(6) years with the 101st Airborne Division this was my ultimate Bucket list item. Of those six years 2 1/2 of them were with "E" Company 1/506 at Ft Campbell KY. In those days we were just a regular Parachute Brigade. Certainly well before the exploits of this unit during WWII were recognized with the book and movie "Band of.Brothers" The heroics of these men either individually or collectively will never truly be able to be shown. A review of the general age of these heros depicts how so many had their lives shortened and hopefully their heroism will always be recognized and honored. This tour was one of the finest i have ever taken. Our guide was so knowledgeable of the events of."D" Day he was incredible. The talk and explanation during the tour was so amazing and for me humbling. To walk in those foorsteps.of.the fallen was heartbreaking. It wasn't but a short 20 years later that I found myself with a subsequent "Band of Brothers", only this time it was in the dark, wet, steamy jungles of Vietnam. Still with the 101st Airborne Brigade)). True, we were not THAT Band of Brothers but we were Brothers non the less. Thank you "Overlord Tours for making this event so well depicted. Hopefully others will come to show their respect for all these fallen heros. I ask them to remember, "All gave some, however some gave all".

World War II history, UNESCO-listed monuments, Belle Epoque beach resorts, and medieval cities: Normandy has it all, and you’ll only scratch the surface of what this region offers on Normandy day trips. With just one day, focus your explorations on a particular area or sight, whether visiting France’s most famous island monastery, following the path of Allied soldiers at the D-Day beaches, or hopping between the picturesque coastal towns of the North. Normandy is close enough to Paris to be a day-trip destination, but you’ll be able to see even more if you start from Bayeux or Le Havre.
