What are people saying about Normandy

Excellent
This was one of the best tours I have been on. It was every historical site I hoped to see on my visit to Normandy. There were only four of us in a van with our guide who was a wealth of Information and even suggested a lunch spot and made reservations for us. I highly recommend this tour. It was very personal.

5 STARS. Don’t miss this tour!
My husband and I did the Band of Brothers tour with Lucas S.
The tour was AMAZING and Lucas was TERRIFIC!
The tour was in-depth and provided special stops along the way that other tour groups don’t get to see, like walking on the field where Meehan ran to get his German gun.
Lucas was exceptional! His knowledge of B of Bs was superb but his overall background on WW2 allowed him to answer every question we asked. He was gregarious and intelligent - a winning combination when spending 9 hours together!
Don’t miss this tour!

Breezy tour of WW2 D-Day
Our guide was very knowledgeable with facts and stories at the sites and during the drives. She had a book of photos and charts that added visuals to her words.
With lunch this is a 7 hour excursion. Very manageable walking even for us old timers. Lots of driving because it covers Omaha to Utah and back from Bayeux.
We were experiencing the extreme heat and dryness near Paris. So it was a surprise that the coast was 70 F, 25mph wind with small rain spells. Our guide handled it expertly by doing storytelling in the car for those of us who didn’t want to brave the elements. She led the way through gales and sand for those who wanted the experience.

To walk in the actual footsteps of greatness
Julien is an exceptional guide and an accomplished student of art history. He taught us about Monet the man by telling us the story of his life and guiding us to stand in the places where he lived, was inspired, created his works, and died. It was a peak behind the curtain that allowed us to walk in the actual footsteps of the man. Being guided to stand in and see a glimpse of Monet's world, I now see his work with a far deeper appreciation for the genius of his impressionistic expression of his vision on canvas. Thank you, Julien.

Outstanding Tour
We consider ourselves really blessed to have chosen Neptune Battle Tours for our visit to Normandy. Our guide was "Boy". (He is also the owner of Neptune Tours!!)
Boy was phenomenal! I couldn't imagine a more professional, flexible, or knowledgeable guide for our visit to Normandy.
We (my wife and I) started the day by getting off our train from Paris in the wrong town!! (Caen instead of Bayeux!!) Boy didn't hesitate at all. Once we realized why we couldn't find each other outside the Bayeux train station, he was immediately back on the road, headed to Caen to find his lost clients! No recriminations, no smirking, just polite and efficient flexibility to make things feel seamless to us.
Some skills and traits that Boy has that we felt at EVERY stop on the day:
Knowledgeable - Boy knows the Normandy Campaign. Not just D-Day...but the Normandy Campaign. He opened our own perspectives to understand a much larger picture than we had when starting the day.
Personal Knowledge - Boy has met people. Veterans of D-Day. Veterans of the Campaign. Historians. Family members. Foundation leaders. His gentle manner and genuine interest has helped him to accumulate a TON of information, background, personal anecdotes, and different perspectives on the history all around you in that area.
Manner - Boy shares his wealth of knowledge without ever appearing to lecture or seem to be reading any type of script or check-list. He truly shares what he knows in a way that makes what could be an overwhelming flow of info become a series of personal observations about what we were seeing.
Pleasant - Boy is just a nice guy! He never forced conversation, or allowed awkward silences. It was just a fun day with someone we felt we could call "friend" by the time we said good-bye at the train station. (On time, and at the correct station!!!) It was our very first private tour, 1-on-1 with a guide. We were a bit nervous and wondering about spending a day with a stranger. Well, that "stranger" thing stopped about 5 minutes after he picked us up. And it never felt forced.
We felt all of those skills throughout the very full, but unhurried, day. I understand why his reviews are all so positive.
We strongly recommend planning your trip to the D-Day beaches so that you can engage Boy for a day.

Would do this Tour Again!!!
A MUST-SEE while in Paris. This tour was Fantastic! Our guide was very knowledgeable and upbeat, pointing out all of the sites to see in Paris. The story he shared about the history of the Eiffel Tower was something we’ll remember forever! Loved this tour! Would do it again!

Excellent Tour with a Canadian Perspective
Great tour of the Canadian WW2 landing sites in Normandy. Our guide Stefan was very knowledgeable and thorough, arrived on time, the lunch spot he chose was excellent, vehicle was great — he answered all of our questions and provided albums of photos with many interesting details about the Allied Landing from June 6th 1944 on to the end of the war. We visited a number of sites including the Juno Center and bunkers, Gold Beach, Abbaye d’Ardenne, Commonwealth Canadian Cemetery. Highly recommend this excursion to those especially interested in the incredible efforts and sacrifice of the Canadian soldiers of WW2.

DDay remembered thanks to a wonderful guide
What a great experience with the help of our guide Lucy. From pickup to drop off nothing was missed and in a challenging overly busy period we met our objective of getting to each site for experience that I was looking for. Our guide was informative, pleasant, and really took care to make sure each member of the group was able to enjoy all of the locations we wanted to see and come away with a great memory. What made it impactful is the guide truly cared for each person and saw we were not lost in all the busy activities which brings perhaps the most people to DDay celebration in Normandie. Highly recommend the company and the guide and to do the tour b if you want to avoid crowds choose a day other than June 6. But we managed well. Bring attire for the weather as we experienced three seasons in one day. Thank you Lucy

British Normandy Beaches Tour
We were collected at Bayeux train station by Emanuel and were lucky enough to be the only people on the tour. As we were talking about history in the minibus, Emanuel made an extra stop and showed us where William the Conquerer was buried. We then continued to the Pegasus bridge and museum and it was completely up to us how long we stayed there.
We visited the war burial sites and the landing beach. Emanuel had photos to show us and lots of knowledge and we all had an enjoyable afternoon. We also asked to be dropped back into the centre of Bayeux so we could have a look around, which he was happy to do - great service and excellent English

Mont Saint Michel tour with Kate was great
Our guide Kate was great. She shared her vast knowledge of history in such a wonderful way. She included so much details in such a energetic way that it made the tour not only educational, but entertaining as well. Kate was very attentive to all the members of the tour, ensuring that everyone was comfortable. The tour was very organized and professionally done. I would highly recommend.

Our tour guide, Marine...
Our tour guide, Marine was fantastic. Her knowledge of the area (she is a local) and history of WWII was outstanding. Each of us learned a lot. This tour was so informative. Taking the full day to absorb the gravity of the war and appreciate all those who sacrificed so much was well needed.

Excellent Experience for quick half day tour!
The experience was fantastic! Antoine got very detailed which I wanted and answered all my questions about D-day the players, battles, weapons and impact it had on the men who fought as well as the macro picture of the war. His politeness, knowledge and enthusiasm was top notch! I would recommend this tour for casual observers or big time WW2 buffs.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
World War II history, UNESCO-listed monuments, Belle Epoque beach resorts, and medieval cities: Normandy has it all, and you’ll only scratch the surface of what this region offers on Normandy day trips. With just one day, focus your explorations on a particular area or sight, whether visiting France’s most famous island monastery, following the path of Allied soldiers at the D-Day beaches, or hopping between the picturesque coastal towns of the North. Normandy is close enough to Paris to be a day-trip destination, but you’ll be able to see even more if you start from Bayeux or Le Havre.
