The trip to the D Day invasion sites was extremely informative and moving. The Omaha Beach site with the thousands of graves of young men shows the tragedy of the war. Information center had very good exhibits and was quite clean and had clean restrooms. Our tour guide, Ash, was professional, courteous, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable.

This trip was unexpected and worth the time! It was very emotional and gave us the experience by taking us back to history.

A must see

Our tour guide was excellent . It was an amazing trip and extremely emotional . I felt so blessed that so many people fought and lost their lives so we could have the freedom we have today.

Bus Had No Leg Room

Henry_M, Oct 2025
Viator used a full size bus which had one or two extra rows of seats, meaning there was absolutely no leg room and my knees in constant contact with seat in front of me. Given that beginning and end of tour is 2 hour drive each way, this makes for a very uncomfortable 4 hours. I am 6'0, so for shorter person may not be an issue. Guide was knowledgeable, but often had hard time understanding him. I am happy with time spent at various sights.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Dear Henry, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches tour. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the time spent at the sights and found the guide knowledgeable. We’re very sorry to hear that the seating on the bus was uncomfortable. For future tours, if you need extra legroom or a more comfortable seat, please let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to reserve the most suitable spot for you. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you on another Vexperio tour soon. Warm regards, Natalia Vexperio

Fantastic tour. Thelma knows her history! And, she’s so fun!! Seeing the beaches and the cemeteries is so emotional.

An important excursion

Gary_A, Oct 2025
The D Day landing sites were very historically interesting and the cemeteries were deeply moving. The American Cemetery was both an emotional experience and beautiful. The tour could be shortened by an hour.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

We recently took this excursion while traveling on a cruiseship stopping at Le Harve. We were met by Sam and were soon entranced by his weaving a tale of the history...His background as a professor was soon apparent as he took us deep into how we got to this place. I've travelled extensively and he is the best guide I have ever had. His knowledge and ability to make this history real was astounding. We were back in plenty of time to get back on the ship after visiting the German and US cemetaries, Utah and Omaha beach. The lunch they provided was perfect while sitting with some time to reflect.

A must see, very emotional tour

Tami_B, Sep 2025
On a cruise to Europe. This stop was on my bucket list. We learned about this in school but had no idea the impact of all the soldiers involved. I'm from the USA I was impressed to see all the US flags in people's yards. Our guide said everyone is still appreciative of the US helping for them to get their freedom back. We learned about the obstacles they endured. It was all very emotional.

Awesome, and our guide Ash and bus diver Franzouis were both AWESOME!!! Great tour. Best ever tour. We learned a lot and would do it again one day. The itiniary was great and paced perfectly and the lunch provided by the tour guide was homemade and excellent! Thank you!

Solemn, but a really nice tour.

Carroll_L, Sep 2025
It was a solemn tour visiting each of these historic places where so many people gave their lives. I wished we had more time to spend at each location but there's so much to for into our schedule and we wouldn't have wanted to miss any of the stops. Our tour guide, Lawrence, did a really wonderful job of explaining each site we visited along with good stories to go along with each. He also had really good information about France in general that he shared during the bus trip between sites.

Our guide was perfect. He truly believed in telling the story of the bravest men and women who ever lived. He treated our tour of all Americans with the respect and admiration of his grateful nation. It was incredible.

Really deserves 6+ stars - hope you get SAM

Leslie_C, Sep 2025
This was an exceptional tour. Our guide, Sam delivered a very detailed and thorough commentary on WWII and of the impact and significance to Normandy and the world. His depth of knowledge on the subject was at a PHD level and yet was delivered with great stories and anecdotes that enriched the commentary. When we told Sam my husband's Uncle was buried at Normandy, he told us to break from the tour and go immediately to the Visitor Center and tell them we had a family member there. Best advice ever. They provided us with a packet of information specific to our family member, took us to the gravesite, and conducted a special ceremony. It was very impactful and meaningful to us. From start to finish, Sam was engaged and really gave a brilliant tour. We would go on this tour again and would highly recommend it.

Our tour guide Sam was wonderful. He gave us a great history lesson reminding us of what we knew but had forgotten. And filling in many of the blanks. This was well worth it. Well maintained American cemetery.

Normandy D-Day Landing

sbergslp, Sep 2025
This was probably the best excursion of our trip. There was no question that our guide Bertrand (Bert) had an enormous passion for the history of Normandy. From the very beginning he was articulate, extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about Normandy and its history. He shared old photos, included personal stories from those young men and women who gave the greatest sacrifice for our country. He organized our time in each location so that we were able to make the most of this excursion. Five stars plus for sure.

Superb tour

Amy_M, Sep 2025
Absolutely fantastic trip. Perfect for cruise ship passengers. Our guide was local and therefore extremely knowledgeable about the history. The lunch although simple was delicious. Fabulous trip!

Great way to get in a D-Day experience from a cruise

Touching and solemn...must see!

Natalie_S, Sep 2025
Such a moving experience. Our tour guide Bert was so knowledgeable about the history and the area. This is a must do once in a life time experience. The memorials are beautiful and solemn. The driver was great and it's the best lunch I've ever received on a tour. Thanks again to Bertrand!

Amazing adventure!

Matthew_P, Sep 2025
What an amazing and humbling day! The tour was professionally executed and there was never a concern about getting back to the ship on time. The bus was clean, modern and comfortable. Plenty of opportunities to use the restrooms throughout the day. The history lessons about the land, people and war were the icing on the cake. I thought this was going to be an amazing excursion but the value and experience we got today blew away all of my expectations! Excellent job team!! If your ship is pulling into Le Havre and you want to see the D-Day beaches, this is definitely the tour for you.
