Great Experience
This is a wonderful hassle free way to visit important WWII sites. Pauline was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. It was a full day and she kept it interesting and gave us a good mix of guided tour and free time to explore on our own. I highly recommend the tour and Pauline if she’s available.

Paying our Respects.
Amazing tour. We had absolutely the VERY best guide you could ask for. Igor was a local guide who knew everything about the Normandy invasion. He was simply the BEST! Very moving experience. We got to witness the lowering of the American flag and hear Tap being played.

Amazing experience! Our...
Amazing experience! Our guide Pierre was so eloquent in describing the various historical events while at the beaches/sites and while driving the day went so quickly. We took the train from Paris and were picked up right outside the station and brought back in time to take the train back. My family said this was their favorite tour of our time in Paris!

We were hesitant to book...
We were hesitant to book the Viator since the cruise lines caution passengers about getting back on time before the ship sails. Since Viator offered the Honfleur and Deauville excursion we decided to do this one no regrets, the tour guide brought us back to the ship several hrs before departure and we were about to book another excursion to Le Havre. Viator tour guides are very aware of boarding times no need to stress...in fact now that we are comfortable with booking Viator Shore excursions we will continue to search out great excursions for our future trips!
In addition Laurence aka Larry the tour guide was fantastic he was very patient always a nice smile when you asked questions always willing to help with making the trip the best! He always had a good side...I don't think he has a bad side, his personality was very nice!

Half Day DDAY Omaha Beach American Cemetary and Point Du Hoc from Bayeux (OPHORUS TOURS - Valentin)
This trip was in early May 2026. Though the weather was very challenging due to wind and cold and some rain, our guide Valentin was full of energy for the whole tour and brought DDay to life for us as we toured the sites. He communicated his passion for and deep knowledge of this subject to all of us and created the lasting memory we were looking for.

Respect for heroes
Our guide Thierry was very kind and had great knowledge of events in WWII. We were very comfortable in the modern clean vehicle used with Air Conditioning on a very hot day. We were offered cold drinks as well. The taps ceremony (lowering of the American flag) at 4 pm was very poignant and we were grateful for the respect given our military heroes.

DDay remembered thanks to a wonderful guide
What a great experience with the help of our guide Lucy. From pickup to drop off nothing was missed and in a challenging overly busy period we met our objective of getting to each site for experience that I was looking for. Our guide was informative, pleasant, and really took care to make sure each member of the group was able to enjoy all of the locations we wanted to see and come away with a great memory. What made it impactful is the guide truly cared for each person and saw we were not lost in all the busy activities which brings perhaps the most people to DDay celebration in Normandie. Highly recommend the company and the guide and to do the tour b if you want to avoid crowds choose a day other than June 6. But we managed well. Bring attire for the weather as we experienced three seasons in one day. Thank you Lucy

Loved the small group,...
Loved the small group, comfortable transport and highly informative guide. For one so young, Matthew demonstrated a passion and expansive knowledge of the subject matter. He was generous with his time and knowledge, warm and friendly and went out of his way to make sure we all had an enjoyable and comfortable day. He is an asset to your team.

Excellent!
The tour and the tour guide were excellent, the kids really enjoyed it especially the quicksand. Would highly recommend.
Tips: Bring a spare change of shorts or wear swimming trunks in case you get wet while trying out the quick sand. Bring a small snack/drink/beer for when you stop on the little island; tombiline. Follow the other advice in terms of clothing and equipment as detailed on the website. Enjoy!

Giverny
Our guide was exceptional. On the way to Giverny he gave us a history of Monet’s life. We arrived at opening time and he guided us through the house before it got crowded. After that we were free to tour the gardens and pond. On the way back to Paris he pointed out places Monet had lived and painted. Finally he dropped us off in Paris at a very nice place for lunch. A great day.

An amazing D-day experience
This tour is not for the faint of heart as it covers so much history, both heroic and tragic. Our guide, Faustin, was amazing. His historical knowledge was superb and he guided us with respect for the subject matter as well as good humor. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him. We learned so much we didn’t know about the planning and action of D-day and beyond, without being overwhelmed. We highly recommend this tour.

Excellent Tour
In short, our tour through Normandy was excellent. We're a family of three, and as this was our first time in Normandy, we wanted to see as much as possible. We figured a private tour would allow us to accomplish this goal. We truly lucked out with our tour guide, Emmanuel, who was able to accommodate our agenda. At each stop, he was able to provide additional background and details while giving us the time and space to explore on our own. In addition, he was kind, funny, and a great driver!
To highlight how Emmanuel made the trip extra special, my dad had mentioned in passing that he had served in the US Coast Guard. During our stop at the Normandy American Cemetery, Emmanuel made sure to point out the lone Coast Guard member listed in the Garden of the Missing.
We definitely recommend this trip (and Emmanuel) for others!

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Normandy is home to iconic medieval monuments, World War II battle sites, and picturesque beach resorts, but with limited time, it’s best to focus on the highlights. Normandy half-day tours are an ideal choice for time-crunched travelers, but they are also a great way to get to know a city better or enjoy a memorable activity. Inject fun into your trip by opting for a unique transport method, such as a sidecar, WWII-era Jeep, or an e-bike. Combine a sightseeing tour with a cider tasting at a local winery, or join friends for an exciting scavenger hunt.
