This was one of the most meaningful and emotional tours I have ever participated in. If you have the opportunity to visit Normandy and the places covered by this tour, do it.

Norman, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Our driver, Patrick? was an excellent driver. The tour itinerary was well structured which covered the areas of interest. The transportation was comfortable.

Tour covers a lot of ground. Our guide Norman and driver Patrick were both excellent. Both were extremely courteous and Norman was a wealth of knowledge and explained things extremely well.
Pickup and drop off we're efficient and easy, with our bus right next to those of the cruise ship tours. Don't miss this tour... highly recommended!

Very thorough and informative tour. Our tour guide Sam was great and very knowledgeable and provided us detailed information about the experience.

Overall, a great tour but would have loved to include the visitor center at the American Cemetery. I have been there before and it is exceptional. Rearranging the time allocated at each place and including the visitor center in the itinerary would have taken it from good to great.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Dear Nancy,
Thank you for your feedback! We’re very happy that you enjoyed the tour overall. At the American Cemetery, guests have free time during which they may visit the Visitor Center independently. As individual interests vary, we allow guests to decide how they wish to use this time rather than including a guided visit inside the center. We appreciate your suggestion and hope the tour still provided a meaningful D-Day experience.
Kind Regards,
Julia

We had a fantastic tour with Norman and our bus driver Patrick. We booked it as a shore excursion and the meeting place was right outside the cruise terminal in Cherbourg and made it back to the ship in plenty of time. We were able to view the 11:30 wreath ceremony at the American Cemetery and it was very moving. I would highly recommend this tour.

Dr. Sam was our guide and had a wealth of knowledge to share. Very well done. Enjoyed the day and would recommend.

Truly great day with Lawrence! The tour was very mindful of our ship times and had clear communication throughout. Enjoyed every revered stop of one of the most fateful days in history. Lawrence was knowledgeable, respectful, and kind. Driving was also great and smooth.

Lawrence is a fabulous guide!! One of the best we have had. Tour of pointe de Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American cemetery were reverent and informational. Perfect way to spend our Memorial Day

All I can say is breathtaking!!!! I have waited years to see D-Day beaches and the American cemetary and this fulfilled my dreams in spades! A large part of this incredible experience was because of our tour guide, Lawrence. He is a gem and Viator should be proud that he is working with them. I learned more about WW II and D-Day from Lawence then I ever did in school.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Viator and thank you Lawrence for an unforgettable experiece!!!!

Amazing tour and Lawrence made it so meaningful and worthwhile. If you want a passionate tour guide who provides insight and historical elements this is your tour. Lawrence was patient and humorous and gave an equal amount of together time filled with information and then time for us to do our own thing. Highly recommend this tour especially if Lawrence is your guide

Anne-Sophie was so knowledgeable I honestly learnt a lot of info I didn’t know. One of the best excursions I’ve ever been on. Plenty of stops, time spent at stops was perfect. Christophe was an excellent driver. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

You want Lawrence as your guide. In all my years of traveling and touring, he was the absolute best! He is the reason for the highest rating

The tour did a great job of covering D-Day highlights. Lawerence is VERY informative and passionate about the subject. Highly recommended. Bring food though.

As advertised. Great tour and got us back to the ship on time. Glad I got to see the Normandy Beaches.

It was a very good tour. We loved going to the Normandy Coast and visiting the beaches knees and Omaha Beach. It was very emotional to see all the tombstones and hear the stories about the soldiers that lost their lives!

Very reliable tour operator, informational. Reasonable prices. Good tour guides. Punctual times and transportation vehicles, buses etc.

It is much walking, but most surfaces were flat and worked for us. I use canes for mobility. Walked just shy of 7 miles. It was a very informative and moving experience for us.
Viator’s tours are among the best we have done.

One day tour visiting Saint Mere-Eglise, Utah and Omaha beaches, and the Normandy American Cemetery. We had a wonderful tour guide and the day flew by. There is really no time to visit museums, other than a short amount of time at the American Normandy cemetery. The tour picked us up just outside the port, and brought us back to the ship with a couple hours to spare. This tour was perfect for us, and we would highly recommend to those that only have a day to spend learning about D-Day.

Fabulous tour. Tour operator easy to spot right off the cruise ship. I really enjoyed seeing small towns and villages as we made our way to the beaches. Our guide was truly awesome. Very, very knowledgeable and I learned a lot. My father was on the 4th day coming in on Omaha Beach and it was very special seeing the beach and tributes. I was overwhelmed by the American Cemetary. No negatives other than the amount of walking. It was quite a challenge for me.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
Dear Diane,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. It sounds like your visit was truly meaningful, especially with the personal connection to Omaha Beach through your father’s story. Knowing that we could play a small role in that powerful moment means a lot to us.
We’re so glad you enjoyed exploring the villages and hearing from our guide — we’ll be sure to pass along your kind words. We understand the walking could be a bit much at times, and we truly appreciate your patience and perseverance. We’re always looking for ways to make our tours as comfortable as possible for everyone.
It was an honor to have you with us, and we hope the memories of this visit stay with you for a long time.
Warm regards,
Natalia

This was an all day trip to important sites related to the D-day battle. Our guide and driver were wonderful and the entire day was very moving. Not recommended for children or those who are unfamiliar with this episode in history. Only complaint (and we were off season, so limited options), was the lack of provisions. If you are coming from a cruise, bring food!
Response from Host, Dec 2024
Dear Kathleen,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re so glad to hear that you found the tour moving and that our guide and driver contributed to a meaningful experience at these historic sites. It’s always our goal to provide a memorable and respectful journey through this important chapter of history.
We appreciate your note regarding the availability of food. As mentioned in our message before the tour, there are limited food options available in the area. To support our guests, we arranged a stop at a local bakery where guests had the opportunity to purchase food. We also encouraged guests to bring their own provisions, especially if they have specific dietary preferences or restrictions, to ensure a comfortable experience throughout the day.
We always strive to clearly communicate important details, such as food availability, before the tour to ensure our guests are well-prepared. We understand how this aspect can impact the overall experience, and we do our best to provide helpful guidance in advance. Your feedback is valuable as it allows us to continue improving the experience for future guests.
Thank you once again for choosing to tour with us and for sharing your thoughtful review. We hope to welcome you back in the future.
Best regards,
Natalia
