Sobering but Essential

Jake Goldberg was an expert guide who brought together 15 strangers from several different countries and clearly conveyed the heaviness of the subject matter in a way that connected and resonated with each of us individually. He did an expert job at leading our full group through a train and bus ride and then still had the energy to talk through such a difficult topic for several hours. My husband and I feel very lucky to have been part of his group for the day. Not only did he take the time to chat with everyone on this tour, he also made sure we each had “after tour” options clearly laid out for the remaining time we had in Munich. The tour is very well...

The tour is very well organized. My tour guide Maxine is it really knowledgeable. She showed us quite a few The Sound of Music scenes as we traveled along the city, including one mistake where Maria and children were buying fruits in the market that I would have never known. I also learned about the stumbling rocks project for the first time and was really moved by it. Maxine was also so kind that she offered us one extra hour in Salzburg that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Exhausting but worth it

Trip is exhausting, either have the euros for the shuttle or be ready to walk uphill for 45 minutes! The castles are beautiful and worth the effort but be ready. After lunch we started the uphill trek and made it up. On the way out we were short on time to get to the bus so you definitely have to get moving on the way down if you're going to visit gift shops. Tour guide Michelle (English tour) was really good. She was very patient with questions and made sure you knew where the bus would be and which one to look for.

It is worth upgrading to...

It is worth upgrading to the premium experience as there is a smaller group and snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Faizen was a wonderful guide - he knew the timing of when to get to the Marienbrucke to take photos of the castle to ensure we could make our castle tour in time.

Great trip

I don’t remember our guides name but she was wonderful. Gave great historical context. You could tell she had a passion for the history. She also made it super easy to follow all the different meeting times by giving us a card we would take pictures of and follow in our own. I’m reluctant to do group tours but this one was good and didn’t feel like too much wasted time.

Chancel is THE BEST guide ever!!!

Took this VIP tour on 7/17/26 with our AMAZING guide, Chancel- and it was incredible! She was so smart and savvy, funny, and had tons of drinks and snacks for us. Definitely get to see and cover more on a bike tour. Great intro. to Munich. Mike's friendly, professional staff are amazing. I got totally lost and was very late. So grateful to the office lady who kindly turned my diaster into a very positive experience. She organised a staff member to lead me to the tour that was already underway. Bob, tour leader, was welcoming & very infomative regarding Munich's past/present history. We were quite a large group, Bob taught bike lane protocol, crossing safety & guided us well along bike lanes & streets. Glad to have been able to do this excursion with Mikes Bike tours. Well worth doing!

Amazing guide for an amazing city

Our guide, Leon, was a wonderful navigator and was also very knowledgeable regarding his beautiful city. We were only in the city for a few days and we finished our tour with a recommended list of places to eat and places to explore. I couldn’t recommend this activity enough, especially if you’re a history geek or just want to touch the surface of what Munich has to offer!
