Amazing, Comprehensive, Insightful Tour

This is a tour run by a not for profit organisation which allows students and other hanoi locals to practice their English and to train themselves to be professional tour guides. The initiative is so cool, so lovely, and we were so glad we signed up for this over some "professional" tour. Our guide Hung was fantastic and was indistinguishable from a professional guide. His English was impeccable, his explanations were deep, and he was so excited to answer the many questions we had about his city and his country. We did a tour of the prison, the temple of literature, and the ngoc son temple. Unfortunately, the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum was undergoing restoration/renovation and we couldn't visit there, which was unfortunate given the depth and context which Hung gave us about all the other sites we visited! The guides never make you feel obliged to give them a certain fee/tip, but by the end of the tours you want to be generous not just out of decency but to show appreciation and reward the phenomenal job they do. Love you Hung, and still thinking of you 1 week on!

Our guide, Key was his name, was outstanding on coordinating pick up, what to expect, and meeting spots for when the group split up. His knowledge of the history of Ninh Binh , the royalty, and Buddhist monks were impressive. The area is awe-inspiring with unique beauty I have never seen before. With that said, heavy duty tourism has found its way here and I can only imagine what the high season would look like.

We had a wonderful time with our guide Bob, walking around the Hanoi streets enjoying many different types of food. Bob adjusted the itinerary to meet our needs when a short rainstorm intervened to make sure we were comfortable but didn't miss any of the highlights. The food was plentiful and delicious, and provided an excellent introduction to Vietnamese cuisine.

A Must Do Activity When in Hanoi

The experience with Kim, the instructor, was excellent. The company picked me up from my hotel in Old Quarter. Everyone went to the market for shopping with Kim, and it was fun. The preparation and cooking component was great as a group. The group i was with were lots of Aussies and one German woman. Everyone had a blast the food was excellent. I cannot recommend this event more if you are in Hanoi. Even if you don’t like cooking, it is still a great time - because I bet you like eating delicious Vietnamese food!

A Vietnam highlight.

Totally do-able with the limited time we had. Two long days but jam packed with wonderful sights and experiences. Our trekking guide was a local with great english who shared her life experiences growing up and living here while we explored the amazing countryside. The hotel we stayed overnight at was beyond our expectations, large clean comfortable room. Great food and comfortable vehicles to travel to and from.

Fantastic tour!

Absolutely fantastic tour! Our guide, Apple, was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and engaging. She showed us around the area and took us to some truly amazing food spots. Make sure to come hungry — there is a lot of food! The tour included many excellent places to eat, with short walks in between, and it never felt rushed. And as a grand finale- train street :) I highly recommend this tour!!!
