Tour guide Tom was fantastic. He had great energy and he was very
knowledgeable about the religious and war history of Vietnam. I loved the 'Train Street' experience and it was sobering visiting Hoa Lo prison (still highly recommended). The Pagoda was beautiful and interesting too. Thanks Tom for a great morning that I will never forget! And thanks to the safe driver on the tour

Our guide, Max, took us all over the city. The guide the company gives is just some ideas. If you want to customize, you can within reason. The Hanoi Hilton was educational and humbling. We also were able to experience Train Street and go to a market where artisans were doing silk needlepoint. Beautiful!!

Highly recommend Hanoi City Tours as a company and Sandy as a guide. There was no trouble fully customising this tour (we had completed many sights the previous day on a different tour). For this tour we visited Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, St. Joseph's Cathedral, Long Bien Bridge, Phong Hung Mural Street, Hoan Kiem Lake (including Cau Huc Bridge & Ngoc Son Temple), Walking tour of Old Quarter (Hang Vai, Hang Ma etc). Sandy had plenty of information, history and knowledge of the places we visited and was thoughtful to include sights and places we were interested in. She also knew the best places to get great photos at each stop. A great tour all round!

This is the best half day introduction to Hanoi. Peter is an impressive young man with an infectious enthusiasm for his country. As a history buff he brings to life every item on the itinerary. He had a driver in a great air conditioned car who handled the traffic chaos with aplomb. Do this tour. Ask for Peter.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our first day than what we had with Peter as our guide. The tour was a highlight reel of the city and took us to the major sites, all with historical commentary and some gentle humor. We highly recommend this tour as a way to get your visit to Hanoi started.

Lucky made this experience a truly spectacular one. He spoke English better than many Americans and was knowledgeable and passionate about the places we visited in Hanoi. He took pictures and even though the tour was scheduled for 4 1/2 hours, we spent a little extra time. Our hotel was not in the Okd Quarter but for $10 USD, we were picked up and returned to our hotel. Truly a great way to see many of the key sights in Hanoi.

Lucky was our tour guide for 2 half day tours of Hanoi , which we were delighted with! He went couldn’t have been more patient, caring or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and his local knowledge was amazing. It made our tours so much fun, adapted it to our needs and wants and we certainly learned a lot about the history of Hanoi.

Lucky is the man! We had a great tour with Lucky. Our small group requested a later start time and Lucky and his people were able to accommodate easily. Lucky arrived on time to our hotel and was very professional and friendly with his introduction. His English is perfect and I thought for a moment that he studied in California.
We were a group of 3 gay guys and Lucky could care less. He joined in on our jokes, laughed loudly with us, and just flowed with the energy of our group. It was almost like having a friend show you around Hanoi. Lucky was very knowledgeable, professional but most importantly, fun!
The tour was designed well and we got to see a lot of sights and learn some history. Lucky even helped me and a friend haggle at the market. The Hoa Lo Prison was emotional for me. My favorite part was lunch in front of the train tracks. SO COOL!
We needed do to laundry and Lucky gave us two recommendations. It saved us alot of money versus using our hotel’s laundry service.
Also, kudos to our wonderful driver so was a pro at navigating Hanoi traffic.
Highly recommend this tour! I will definitely tell all my friends and family about you guys!

Pete my tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. He shared a lot of great information and insights in a fun and engaging way. He was punctual and kept the tour on track while always taking time for my questions. He gave clear instructions as needed at the various sights enabling the experience to feel very comfortable and efficient. He often checked with me to ensure the tour was meeting my expectations. I had already visited one of the stops and he nade a change to another on the fly. Pete's English was exceptional.

After only having been in Hanoi for one day - my friends and I booked this tour to get a feel for the city highlights. What we got with our tour guide Peter was so much more! He was super knowledgeable in giving us details about not only the places we visited but about Vietnam in general. We learned a lot which was extremely welcome. Peter also went above and beyond to ensure that we got excellent spots to see the Train passing and even came prepared with some bottle caps for souvenirs. Overall one of the best tour guides and would highly recommend this experience for any group who is new to the area and is interested in learning some of the history behind the places in this beautiful city!
