After much training with her colleagues, this was Kahn’s first solo with customers all by herself! It was OUR honor to be her first two customers! She was as nice as could be, spoke great English, and answered all of our questions and concerns from my wife and I. She took us to great local food venues which we enjoyed very much. Also spoke of her family life and what it is like growing up in Hanoi. Definitely we would recommend this tour for anyone and everyone of all ages. Thank you so much Kahn for a great time!! Also wanted you to know that we noticed you watching us intensely as we caught our taxi ride back to hotel, making sure we were safe. (We waved goodbye but you couldn’t see us through the tinted glass) Excellent job!

We took the Hanoi Authentic Walking Food Tour this evening with our guide, Hung. He led us on a private tour through the busy streets of the Old Quarter. We enjoyed the tour immensely, not just because we had some great tastings, but because we learned so much of Hanoi's rich history, as well as plans to revitalize the Old Quarter. Hung's love for Hanoi showed through in every bit of information he provided. He was very patient in answering our questions, and stopping along the way to allow us the opportunity to check out wares in various stores along our route. We enjoyed every dish sampled as it was our first time in Hanoi, and we knew nothing of the traditional dishes or how to eat them. Needless to say, we enjoyed the tour immensely and highly recommend not just the tour, but specifically asking for Hung. He actually made the tour interesting and informative!

Charlie is a young knowledgeable local guide with a great command of English.. got us the best place to observe the passing train on Train Street whilst enjoying a refreshment and then the best chicken Pho at a local warung to follow..just over 3 hours and a very enjoyable day

Perhaps it was due to the Tet holiday but it felt the tour was very haphazard (as in it was quite unclear how many stops the tour would have), the tour guide seemed inexperienced, and we never saw a train (although we were told that if we waited 2 hrs or so, one would likely come by). Also, we were asked to pay for a bottle of water at one of the restaurants, which seemed excessive seeing the cost of the tour. Overall, we were not happy with the experience.

Regarding the train, unfortunately its schedule is beyond our control, especially during the Tet holiday period when timings can be more unpredictable than usual. We understand this was disappointing, particularly if seeing the train was an important part of your experience.
We would also like to clarify that the tour itinerary does include both stops and locations that are viewed while passing through, and this can sometimes feel less structured during busy holiday periods. During Tet, traffic conditions, crowd levels, and local availability can also affect the flow of the tour.
Regarding the water, one complimentary bottle is included on the vehicle, while any additional drinks ordered during the tour are at guests’ own expense. Due to Tet holiday pricing, costs at local restaurants and stops are also significantly higher than usual.

Messi was a fantastic tour guide. He was knowledgeable and took us to some great places to eat. The highlight was Train Street though. I loved watching the train go by as I sipped my egg coffee. Definitely recommend!

I had an amazing time on this walking food tour. I booked solo and was paired with another couple, which worked out perfectly and made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great mix of local spots and must-try dishes. Marcus was a fantastic guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the food and the area. He made the tour easygoing, and really memorable. It’s a fantastic way to be introduced to Hanoi and its food culture, and a perfect way to explore and eat well at the same time!

The experience was really great. It was a one on one experience with a personal guide. She had a good command in English, great knowledge of the streets, food of Hanoi and history of Vietnam. We didn’t start the tour well. We had trouble finding the meeting place, which was not clearly indicated on the booking. After arriving, we waited for 45 minutes because the manager failed to inform the guide about our arrival. Unfortunately, we weren’t compensated in any way for this delay.
On a positive note, our guide, Mr. Lee, was very friendly and personable. However, the tour itself was somewhat disappointing. We didn’t learn much about food or where to eat and where to avoid. We did try a few dishes that were just okay, but they seemed to be more suitable for backpackers.

We had the absolute pleasure of doing this tour with Benny. We ate some amazing food from some great local restaurants. There is no way we could have done this alone. Benny was knowledgeable and so friendly. He spoke great English and went that extra mile to make it a great experience. I would highly recommend this tour especially with Benny the Legend.

We had a great time with our fabulous tour guide Tom. He took us to a number of different restaurants and food options all throughout the old town and then to see the train at the end. It was easy to find the meeting location and Tom even helped us get transport back to our hotel. The food options were varied and Tom gave us the stories behind each dish. We are two mature ladies traveling and felt very safe.

Our guide was really up-to-date about Hanoi food scene and adjusted the schedule to our needs. The particular highlight was Michelin guide recommended Bun Cha restaurant, to which we returned ourselves, as it was so so good. He also gave us great tips for the next days for amazing Pho and Egg coffee. Prime spots at the train street and a taxi ride home afterwards were also arranged.

Our tour guide Benny who is a young student working double jobs while studying went above and beyond for our food tour. Not only did he show us great local eats in Hanoi but he also pointed out other popular places we could try later. He cleverly navigated us through the bustling city. He also accommodated to our wishes such as showing us where the bars, hair salons, and jewelry shops would be. I told him my dad likes Banh Trang and he offered to go buy it on his own time and drop it off at our hotel, which he did! I’ve never experienced that level of hospitality before. I wish Benny much success for his future. I will look for him on my next trip back to Hanoi.

Ivan was a valuable guide, he made us savor really delicious dishes in places we would never have found on our own. Also gave us a lot of info and explanations and brought in some points of interest. In the end of course he took us to the train street and we saw the train pass a few inches from us.
We had booked a tour for a small group and even found ourselves alone, so I rate 10+.
