AMAZING! I had two tour guides, one more experienced (Huyen) who was fabulous, and a student who was also extremely knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the experience, both tour guides were so kind and accommodating.

Einstein was full of knowledge. He was so flexible and would tailor the trip to your needs. We went to the quite train st which was far more comfy that the crowded one. The food was delicious, give it a try!

Absolutely worth the few dollars and an afternoon of time. Our guide Brandon had a helper today and they worked together to build confidence in each other's language skills and public speaking. They knew a lot about the history of Hanoi and helped us understand the basic customs expectations before we arrived. Communication was fantastic also. This is a MUST do when in Hanoi

Very informative and accommodating. Our guide met us at a different location at short notice when breakfast went longer than anticipated, and adapted to whatever we wanted to see on the day. Quinn informed us of the local history and nearby recommendations, and guided us to a tasty chicken pho restaurant. Visited Hoan Kiem Lake, Hoa Lo Prison, Train Street, Temple of Literature and the Citadel.

Our guide, Louisa, was so passionate about her country, very knowledgeable about its history and knew all about the sights we visited. I have coeliac disease and other food intolerance. I am nervous about ordering food when I travel and the knowledge about my condition. I have to eat gluten free to have good health and not be in crippling sickness. During our discussions I sent a travel document for people with coeliac disease.
Our guides Anna and Jackie selected a restaurant which I can freely eat without worrying about my condition. Also the restaurant was authentic Vietnamese food. It was one of the best places we ate at since our visit at Hanoi. I also enjoyed Anna teaching us the correct way to prepare the food before eating.
We also visited and learnt about St Joseph Cathedral, Hoa Lo Prison, Hotel Metropol Hanoi, Sword Lake and Trang Tien ice-cream.
I also loved hearing stories about their regular lives. I feel so lucky this was a private free tour guide. With no hidden catches.

A great way to see Hanoi sights at a low cost. Mary our tour guide was excellent meeting us earlier than booked as we arrived early. He English, knowledge and enthusiasm were very good and we felt safe and comfortable touring with her. Nhung was punctual in meeting me and, to save time, used her GPS to find the best routes to all the places I wanted to see. She was very conscientious about making sure she was giving the best information while engaging in my conversation. When it was time to pick up the checked bags and camera in the Ho Chi Minh tomb area, Nhung asked security where the items were moved. If not for her, I would probably have never got my stuff back! I cannot thank Nhung enough for her most professional and wonderful tour of Hanoi!

The tour did help just navigating going to HCM Mausoleum inside, the HCM complex, then to Train Street for coffees and train pass by - then Temple of Literature. But a mix up on where to meet up meant I had to get my own ride across town as the meeting point was given incorrectly to me - then a long wait while other guests joined - the 9am tour tour didnt start till 10am.
Our guide Thomas was a very nice young man but not a tour guide - yet - he had no substantial information on any place and when he didnt tell us where we were meeting after the Temple of Literature visit (where he was not inside with us) we all ended up at different exits and spent half an hour finding each other. So a bit messy and not well organized - but Thomas figured out a good route for our long walk between the places and we all enjoyed seeing them. He did find a way to get us close to the passing train in a coffee shop beside the tracks as the place was a zoo - so that was helpful. Dont take this trip to get information on these places - just getting around them.

Really enjoyable private tour. Travelling solo so it is nice to have someone to talk to on a one on one basis. Linh my tour guide was very knowledgeable, funny and really helpful in explaining things and telling me about her life as a student in Vietnam. We met at the Opera House as I was staying slightly out of town but the guides will meet at any old town hotel I believe. I left it up to Linh as to where to go as I was a bit lost having just arrived in Hanoi. Linh took me to Hoàn Kiếm Lake and on to the island and it's temple. We then stopped for an egg coffee (delicious) in a famous place which I would never have found by myself. We then went to a traditional house open to the public where Linh explained everything inside. We then went on to Hànoi Cathedral followed by Hoa Lo prison. Linh then took me for lunch at a place she recommended which was delicious. After that we parted but without more recommendations for the rest of my time in Hanoi. I had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thanks Linh!
