Amazing walking food tour!!

Legaxy was amazing! He was a wonderful tour guide and all the things you want a tour guide to be... funny, informative, personable, friendly and cool!! You can tell he loves Columbia and enjoys teaching people about it. Food is important to culture and he explained the origins of the foods we were eating with such passion and respect. I loved that he really worked to engage with everybody and make us all feel comfortable. We had a mini medical emergency during our tour and he remained calm and supportive of the person in the emergency. If your taking a food tour come hungry, with an open mind and if Legaxy is your guide be ready to laugh and have a great time! I truly enjoyed learning about Cartegena through the food. Wow!! What a day

What a trip!! We saw some excellent places and the boat ride where we saw a lot of the old Escobar bar properties was outstanding! Guatape is a brilliant little city and the highlight was the climb up La Piedra de Penol, if you are there you have to do it as it isn't as hard as it looks!! The views from the top are stunning.

Just do it, you’ll enjoy it

Myra was amazing. She was patient and kind. The trip up Montserrat was challenging due to the altitude but she was thoughtful on breaks while giving a lot of historical information. Then the walk through La Candelaria was at a good pace of information and down time to process and reflect. I love art so the museum and gallery was my favorites but that is limiting how much we actually saw and what you will experience. It was a great day?

The comuna is sensory overload, so would recommend booking a tour and saving time to amble around afterwards. Our 9 year old was fine with the steep inclines and we carried the smaller one. Best way to celebrate July 4th for a Black Person

If you’re visiting Cartagena, do yourself a favor and book the Tour de Palenque: Road to Emancipation with La Perla Viajes y Turismo. It was, without question, one of the most meaningful travel experiences I’ve ever had. Our guide, Romeo, was outstanding. He didn’t just give us facts, he brought history to life with passion, knowledge, and deep respect for the people and culture of San Basilio de Palenque. You could feel his pride, and it made every stop more impactful. We experienced traditional music and dances, learned about ancestral medicine and healing practices, walked through the town while hearing the powerful story of resistance, emancipation, and the community’s ongoing commitment to preserving its language, culture, and freedom. This wasn’t just sightseeing, it was an invitation to understand a living history. I intentionally chose this tour on July 4th, and I honestly couldn’t have picked a better way to spend the day. While many Independence Day celebrations overlook the Black experience, spending the holiday in Palenque, surrounded by a community that proudly celebrates its own history of freedom, resilience, and cultural survival, was incredibly moving. The unapologetic Black pride, joy, and sense of identity throughout the community made the day unforgettable. Thank you to La Perla Viajes y Turismo and especially Romeo for creating an experience that was educational, inspiring, and deeply personal. I left with a greater appreciation for the history of Palenque and a renewed sense of the enduring power of freedom, culture, and community. This is much more than a tour, it is an experience that will stay with me for a lifetime.

It was pretty good. Large...

It was pretty good. Large catamaran that can fit a lot of people but not feel overly crowded. Music wasn’t so blaring loud but loud enough to hear it well. Crew was great. Beverages were good. Food was plentiful and very good. Lots of time traveling to the two locations for snorkeling, which is the only bad thing but it’s totally out of their control. I wouldn’t call this a party boat, which to us is good!

I think Legaxy was a bit worried we were doing it too fast, but it’s exactly how I liked to do things, so worked for me. It was very well planned from start to finish. Everything was as described in the details. The adventure was amazing. Great views, history, and making new friends. Hiking was very tough but breaks were provided as needed. The camps we stayed in were very nice. Our guide Jhoan and english translator Carlos were awesome. We were fortunate to have a group of similar aged and physically capable people which made the trek even better. The lost city trek was difficult but well worth it. It is something I will remember forever. Pack as light as possible because you will be carrying your bag for days. Just bring the necessities.
