Our Saturday catamaran excursion to Islas Rosario was an absolute highlight! If you're looking for a relaxing and well-organized day at sea, this is it.
The Experience:
The catamaran itself is incredibly spacious. Even with a full group, it never felt overcrowded, which made for a very comfortable and laid-back atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly through the day, ensuring everyone was taken care of.
The Amenities:
They provided all the gear needed for a great time in the water, including snorkel equipment, floating noodles, and life jackets. Quick note for snorkelers: they provide masks and snorkels, but no fins, so keep that in mind if you have a preference!
The Food:
The included lunch was wonderful - fresh, flavorful, and the perfect fuel for a day of swimming and fun.
Overall
It was a seamless, beautiful day out on the water. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area who wants a high-quality, spacious boat experience!

This is the excursion you want if you want the full fun experience. The staff is awesome, friendly, and attentive. The Captain always had a smile on his face showing you he loves his job. He was friendly and very easy on the eyes. 😉 I would definitely do this again.

The service on the boat was very good, the snorkeling experience was poor.
Drinks were good. Lunch was decent. Boat ride was nice. But the snorkeling was very boring

It was an okay experience. The boat was pretty full, so if you are not a fan of crowds, you won't enjoy it much. The two stops and snorkeling were underwhelming. There is nothing to see in the water, and the time in the water is kind of boring. The staff are nice and the lunch was fine. I am not a beach club kind of person, but after this experience, I think I would have preferred to spend a few hours at a beach club instead of being stuck on a boat for most of the day.

Our excursion is designed as a day sailing experience on a catamaran, where guests can enjoy the scenery of the Rosario Islands, relax on board, and make a couple of stops to swim or snorkel in natural areas. As indicated in the activity description, the experience takes place mainly on board the vessel, which many of our guests appreciate as part of the sailing atmosphere.
Regarding marine life, snorkeling conditions can vary depending on natural factors such as weather, currents, and visibility, which are unfortunately beyond our control.

Only for people able to jump into open sea water for snorkeling and beach. Two stops same conditions. Nothing like this was explain in any of the descriptions. My parents are old adults and they were not able to jump into water as half of the other customers, so they spend the whole trip sitting a chair. Boat and food were ok. Snorkeling was not ok. Coral is almost dead and no fishes at all.

Our catamaran excursion includes stops in natural anchoring areas where access to the water is directly from the boat, as these locations do not have docks or direct beach access. For this reason, snorkeling is generally recommended for guests who feel comfortable entering the sea from the vessel.
This information is included in the activity description so that guests can evaluate whether the experience is suitable for them. Many of our visitors also choose to simply relax on board during the stops and enjoy the scenery, music, drinks, and food service.
Regarding the coral and marine life, these are part of a natural ecosystem and conditions may vary depending on environmental factors beyond our control.

Got to swim to the beach too.
My only suggestion is that when the guests are in the water there should be one trained staff member keeping an eye on them in case of accidents.

Nice Catamaran, great staff! Good food and drinks. Sailing and stops were good. Snorkeling was Ok as there is limited coral and fish life. Swimming stop was nice though. This is NOT a party boat which is great of younare looking for a scenic, peaceful and family / friendly sail trip.

The boat and crew were great. The vessel was full, and the trip was more about the sailing. We spend just over an hour off of the boat between snorkeling and swimming, and did not visit any islands.

The boat ride out to the ocean was fun and engaging. The food was plentiful with different options to make a selection. The kids enjoyed their first snorkeling and jet ski experiences. The refreshing watermelon juice was also very savory.

The vibes were immaculate! Great music selection, the vessel was modern and beautiful, clean restrooms, I loved that it didn’t feel crowded and the staff was nice, the food was alright nothing to rave about, they should offer an option with open bar

This was a good experience to do when in Cartagena! I had heard a lot about the Rosario islands and from people I know had said not to do too many stops, and to get a good boat (theirs was way too small) which is the reason I went with this tour. I loved that it was a catamaran boat which helped with the rockiness and the relaxation (the nets were incredible) and we did only two stops which helped make it not too long and dragged out. Lunch was good nothing special but filled you up, and drinks weren’t included but not the end of the world. This was fun and relaxing but not a rowdy boat, there’s music and such but it’s not crazy party so if that’s what you’re looking for this probably isn’t a top option. But if you want a tour that isn’t too overwhelming, relaxing and still a fun experience and time I would definitely recommend!

We had a really good time sailing to the Rosario Islands with Bona Vida, in spite of some sub-optimal conditions. The catamaran was very comfortable even in somewhat choppy seas, and we were very glad not to be on a little speedboat getting bounced around. The food and drinks were good, and we had a good time swimming off the boat, especially in the afternoon when the weather cleared up. The coral in those spots is not in good shape, but there were fish and some things to see. All in all, while the snorkeling was only okay, everything else about the trip was excellent. If you go into it to enjoy swimming and sailing in beautiful spots, this tour delivers a great experience.

This was an excellent experience, the boat was very nice (even with rougher waters it was not too crazy and my partner who often gets seasick was fine) and the crew was wonderful. The food was also well above expectations! We loved snorkeling and then sunbathing on the netting at the second stop. Would go again in a heartbeat.

The experience was nice, the snorkeling was nice but we didn’t see much, the food was good. The only down side was the staff on board. They didn’t seem happy to be there, they did not smile and we felt like they were annoyed when we would ask simple things like a drink which was included. Overall the experience was good but don’t go for the vibe, go for the activity itself.

The catamaran ride was a lot of fun. Despite some weather, it was still very enjoyable. Enjoyed the first stop with the calm sea. The second stop had more current, which was not as enjoyable. Would recommend this experience.

We departed almost on time from gate 3. The ride was really smooth! As soon as we left the port, we had watermelon juice and some snacks. Everything was good. Including the lunch as well. We ate as much as we wanted and had plenty. Snorkeling gear was great too. The second time we stopped was ok. It's not a great place to do snorkeling. But, as the tour was coming to an end, the waiters stopped being nice. No more smiles. They gave us attitude because we didn't ordered any alcohol. So we didn't left tip. 4 stars for that hiccup!
Otherwise, I really recommend if you want a smooth and relaxing day.

From the beginning the tour was lively, fun and the music was great. The catamaran was spacious, with more than enough room to move about. The crew was kind and courteous and made our time on the water safe and entertaining. The snorkeling was cool, I didn’t see many fish or marine life but other guest did. I recommend this tour 10000x.

Eat way to spend a day in Cartagena; the Captain and Bar were great and 8 hours of sailing and swimming and music was awesome! Don’t forget to drop $20 into the top jar and ring the bell, these guys work hard. My 3rd time on the tour!

Bona Vida was a fun getaway from the busy city. I feel the description of the trip was accurate. The catamaran had plenty of seats for all passengers, enough shaded areas. The food was decent, with a choice of chicken and rice, seafood and rice or vegetables and rice and a salad bar. The snorkeling gear was free but, people had to leave their IDs with the crew as guarantee. Do not leave your snorkeling gear unatended as you will have to pay if they "disappear". We did not get the gear because we did not care for that. I heard from some of the passengers that there were no fish to be seen.
We stopped twice to jump in the water and swim and that was a lot of fun. They had life vests and foam noodles for anybody interested.
The captain and crew were very attentive.

This was a 10/10 for us. It was chill--open space to move around and take photos, not many vendors, no wait for drinks on board, everyone was kind and friendly but also to themselves. I ordered many limonadas de cocos and they were a great price and great taste. It was also fun/ adventurous--we did backflips off of the boat into the water, hung out/snorkel/swam/chill in the water for hours. They had great music from salsa to reggaton to pop to hip hop and it was very fun but it wasnt one of the party boats where everyone is drunk and you're at a crowded beach/club with tons of vendors. I was nervous about being at a beach where theres no space but this wasn't that. We did go on a Wednesday during the day so that may be why.
For us it was perfect!

We had a fantastic time up until the second island stop where some guys came up to the boat offering banana boat rides. They took us out and threw us off the banana and they “helped” us back on and in doing so ripped my husbands gold chain off his neck. My advice don’t wear any jewelry and you will have a great day.
