The Comuna 13 Graffiti Tour with Street Food was easily one of the most memorable parts of our trip. What stood out immediately was how personal and authentic the experience felt. Our guide was either from the neighborhood or deeply connected to it, which made a huge difference - this wasn’t just a walk-through of murals, it was a powerful storytelling experience about transformation, resilience, and community.
The artwork itself is incredible - vibrant, meaningful, and constantly evolving. Every mural has a story, and the guide brought those stories to life in a way that was engaging without ever feeling rehearsed. You walk away with a much deeper understanding of Comuna 13’s history and how far it has come.
And then there’s the food - such a fun bonus. We got to try a variety of local street snacks and treats along the way, which added a whole other layer to the experience. It felt immersive rather than touristy.
Logistically, everything was well organized and paced. There’s a fair amount of walking (and some hills), but the outdoor escalators help a lot and give you great views of the city.
Overall, this tour strikes the perfect balance between culture, history, art, and food. It’s impactful, eye-opening, and genuinely enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a meaningful experience in Medellín.

It was a very good tour! our guide Eddie explained a lot of things to us. We went to both the local alleyways and touristy areas. And we actually preferred the local areas more. The snacks they provided were also delish. It is a lot of walking. Our group was larger than I imagined (like at least 20 people) so be sure to stay close to Eddie if you want to hear well.

This was a great tour. Mateo was so informative and knowledgeable about the history. To learn of the transformations and see all the beautiful art that is breathtaking! I would recommend, and make sure to ask for Mateo!

Did a day trip to Guatapé and honestly… I really enjoyed it.
The climb up El Peñol is no joke 😅 but once you get to the top, it’s all worth it. The view is crazy beautiful—one of those spots you just stand there for a minute and take it in.
Guatapé itself is super colorful and chill. Just walking around, grabbing food, and taking pictures was a vibe.
The whole tour was easy, no stress. Transportation, food, everything handled. Guide was cool too, not doing too much but still kept it interesting.
Simple day, good energy, great views. Definitely worth it 👍

Try to avoid Carlos, he is not a good guide, talks a lot of nonsense and wants a five star review and tips. I travel the world and take lots of tours, so I know what I am talking about.
I have noticed recently that the quality of the tour guids has dropped significantly.

What an amazing neighborhood. Our guide was local, so knowlegable and didn't suagrcoat anything. I appreciated that. There was so much to see and learn, it made me fall in love with Colombia for my first visit to the country.

Well i was trying to communicate all day if this was transpiring because of the rain. Noone respond on Viator I even attempted WhatsApp as I had booked this the day prior and missed it. At least that tour guide had sent a message. I honestly would like a refund

A lot of walking both upstairs and escalators. It definitely is a neighborhood full of artistic expression. It was a nice experience but can’t be a little overwhelming. Additionally our tour guide Esteban could definitely brush up on his people skills.

Carlos was great! A tour of Comuna 13 is a must. The history is an important lesson to all, and the art is fantastic. Be prepared to walk up steep steps. Each level, though, offers a different perspective and view, which makes it worth the effort. Besides, the return is all downhill.

Carlos gave us an absolutely amazing tour! He was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. He made sure we were comfortable the entire time and showed us places we probably would have never found on our own. The experience felt very personal and authentic, not like a typical tourist tour.

Our Comuna 13 tour was definitely a highlight of our time in Medellin. Our guide Kevin provided us with an amazing experience that we're really grateful for. He was very passionate, informative and open - creating an experience of engagement, interaction and immersion. A great experience spending a few hours in Communa 13 & learning more about the history of Communa 13 - and Medellin overall. Kevin was our tour guide, and he was awesome. He had a ton of knowledge to share with us, and stopped frequently to give insights into what we were seeing. He also happily answered our questions during and after the tour - and I appreciated that he was transparent if he did not know the answer or didn't have enough context to answer completely.
The transformation in Communa 13 is incredible - and every single person we encountered was welcoming and excited to share their art with us.
Lots of stair climbing, so definitely be prepared to get a bit of a workout in! But when you get to the top you'll be able to try food options from local vendors.

What a life-changing experience! If you truly want to get to know La Comuna 13, you need to get on this tour and ask for Nancy. She is a real local; she knows the story, and she has lived through it. If I come back, I will rebook the same tour just because of her and the experience she provided.

Communa 13 is a very interesting part of Colombian culture but sadly I didn’t get to learn much about it. Our guide Kevin was very passionate, but didn’t tell us anything valuable about the culture or history. He didn’t tell us really any basic info / facts but always talked about Colombian pride. Other travelers in the group didn’t feel like they learned much either. He would also talk for way too long not realizing that people are disengaged. I really wish I got to learn about Communa 13.
