Very educational tour. Learnt a lot about the neighborhood and the history. Love to see the social revolution of the area and people and how accommodating they all were. Food as good along with the street dance and rap session we had. Beautiful area!

The tour to Comuna 13 in Medellín was incredible. Kevin was an extremely patient, informative, and passionate guide who brought the community’s history to life in a very palpable way. It was inspiring to see the transformation and resilience of the people. We also loved the colorful artwork, dance, and cuisine that immersed us in the culture through all 5 senses. A worthwhile experience.

We had a great tour with Joe! He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the neighborhood and gave a pretty detailed overview of the history. We learned a lot about Medellín from this trip and it was definitely a highlight.

    Thank you Duvan

    Emily_P, Jul 2026
Duvan was a delight. The tour was just the right combination of history, walking, food and epic views. The comuna is sensory overload, so would recommend booking a tour and saving time to amble around afterwards. Our 9 year old was fine with the steep inclines and we carried the smaller one. Both relished trying this hand at graffiti!

    Wouldn’t Recommend

    Bodie_W, Jun 2026
I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was not a great experience. I can’t recommend it. There were way too many people and it just felt like we were being pushed through gift shops. Our guide was great, but that’s about it.

Guided walking tour with a local

    Peter_D, Jun 2026
We had a very insightful and laid back experience with Carlos in a group of 12. He had amazing energy and explained the historical background of the district. We learned a lot, and tasted local street food along the way. I definitely recommend booking this trip if you are in Medellin.

    Beautiful area!

    Sunset in Comuna 13

    Alan_C, Jun 2026
A must do whilst in Medellin. My recommendation is to do the 16:30 tour and watch the city lights come on after sunset. If you are lucky, you’ll get Carols who is clearly a local. Great guy. Great charisma and I lost count how many people came up and greeted him and then us whilst we were walking. Awesome job.

Best experience we had in Medellin! Culturally rich and a snap shot of the controversial history of Columbia in the 1980s-2000s. It’s a MUST do!!

What a great experience! This was the highlight of our trip. Know that you will be walking through the coffee bushes/field so wear pants and shoes that can get a little dirty on this day.

The communa was amazing and the food we tasted awesome. We did learn a bit about the place but my only downside is that I wish we had more stops to talk about the Communa in detail. However, I do recommend this tour

    Kevin is great!

Kevin was a great guide! Very informative while also being friendly and funny. He guided us through Comuna 13 with a lot of attention to detail.

This was a great 3 hours spent. Carlos was very informative and gave a very personal history of Communa 13. The food was an awesome bonus.

    Fantastic!

Fantastic! Kevin was an amazing guide. A must for anyone visiting Medellin. The art and the community are inspiring.

Ok tour, but wanted something different

    Laura_L, May 2026
The tour was interesting, but there were two things I wasn't prepared for/didn't like. 1) The tour group is very large and moving with such a large group through the small streets is difficult, and hearing the tour-guide can be difficult as well. 2) There were too many stops waiting for things that did not add to the experience.

    Well worth it

    Ania_K, May 2026
Excellent tour, very informational giving a window to the history and current reality of the migrants escaping rural poverty and settling on the mountains of Medellín.

Great introduction to the Colombian way of life in Comuna 13

    Georgia_J, May 2026
Our tour guide Kevin was very knowledgeable and inclusive with the entire group. It was a very busy day being a Saturday and he managed to make it a personal experience for all of us and his English was excellent.

Loved learning about Comuna 13 from a local

    Shirley_L, May 2026
Alex was an awesome guide! Loved seeing how involved he is with the community. Enjoyed all the snacks along the way while learning about the history of Comuna 13 from a local perspective. Only wish we stopped a tad more to enjoy the street art.

    Colorful Medellin.

    AnnaMaria_V, May 2026
What an experience. Dejuan our tour guide was fabulous. His English was amazing and he was so enthusiastic about showing us Comuna13.

    Vibrant area

    Cindy_C, May 2026
Great knowledgeable guide who took time to answer all our questions. Very vibrant area. I especially enjoyed the street food and rap demonstration. There are lots of stairs and uphill/downhill walking, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes.

    A great time

The Graffiti Tour in Comuna 13 was one of the best experiences I had in Medellín. What makes it special is that it’s not just about seeing street art — it’s about understanding the history, resilience, and transformation of the community. The guides were passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to the area. They explained the meaning behind the murals and shared stories about how Comuna 13 went from one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Colombia to one of the city’s biggest cultural symbols. Hearing that directly from locals gave the tour a level of authenticity you can’t get from reading online. The artwork itself was incredible — colorful, emotional, and full of meaning. Every wall tells a story. The atmosphere was energetic with music, dancers, local performers, and food vendors throughout the neighborhood. The outdoor escalators also made it easy to explore while giving amazing views of the city. What stood out most was the sense of pride the community has in its identity and progress. The tour felt inspiring rather than overly commercialized. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Medellín, especially people who want to experience something beyond the typical tourist spots. It’s a powerful reminder of how art and community can transform a place.

    Fabulous Review!
