Cruise stop

Catania was a stop on our cruise and we decided to look outside the excursions and go with this tour listed on Viator. We met Allegra a few minutes earlier than our scheduled tour time in a very easy to find area. She was very friendly and provided information on what the tour would entail. She was very knowledgeable and at each stop she had a connection that got us a great seat and service. The markets were fun to walk through and the food very authentic to the region and delicious. Peter did a wonderful job on this tour. He made sure to show us movie clips from the movie at all the spots where the movie was filmed and was part of the tour. He was very well mannered,knowledgeable and took very good care of us . The visit to Castello de Schiavi and meeting the owner of the house who was only 28 when the Godfather 1 was filmed. A must see for all the fans of the movie when you are in Catania.

The experience we ended...

The experience we ended up doing was good, we did it on a four wheel drive. Just be aware that the options that are given are 65euros a person extra. I thought the tour I had chosen would be a medium level but we were told medium to difficult and had to rent shoes and jackets. All I n all we ended having a nice time and Salvo our tour guide who picked us up was very knowledgeable and gave us very interesting facts about Etna and the city of Catania. Would recommend

Great day in Sicily

Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She called to tell us exactly where to meet and how to find her. Personally, I could have skipped seeing Giardini Naxos and spent the extra time in Taormina. It was a perfect amount of time in Castelmola. The guide went above and beyond to accommodate one member of our party who was having trouble walking due to a recent surgery.

This trip was well worth...

This trip was well worth it for our family of four. The day broke up our weeks vacation of beach, shopping, and eating, and allowed us to soak up culture, history, and excursion. The hike to see the crater on Etna was more like a difficult walk than a hike. The views were great as you can clearly see the closest active crater on Etna. The lunch was very good, pasta, cappuccino, and gelato. The Gorge we were unprepared for unfortunately. If we were to do this again, we would 100% bring water shoes as the river is all rocks. The river is also very cold. But refreshing in summer heat. The guides were all friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. Many of them were family members so it was great. Very good way to spend a day in Sicily and see many sites all at a once. It’s along day, you will be tired at the end. Great trip!

Magic Etna walk and Taormina visit

Pick up went very smoothly. About an hour before a pick up our tour guide/driver sent us a reminder of everything we need to bring. Usefull tip: altho web page allowes you to be picked up at via Etnea drivers cannot go there by car so pick something close like McDonalds 200 m from there. On the begining of out trip our guide Alessandro walked us through todays plan and possible options and throuought the whole way tried to explain us as many things as he could so that we have better experience when we arrive at Etna. As a group we decided to go on Etna volcano first and as we got there and while one part off our group went for a cable car/bus/walk option to the 3000 m, we opted for a trekking through volcanic craters with our tour guide. I would definitly recommand it. Our gudie made sure we are following him, and tried to modify the trekking due to our wishes and possibilities. He was also very patient and helpfull during tons of photos taken and showed us everything he coul think of. After visiting Etna (took us about 3 h due to the crowds) we went for a lunch/wine tasting option. I also recommand it if you are keen on experiencing Etna through specific engridients, products and wine sorts specific to that region. We finished our trip by going in Taormina. The place itself is nice and full of luxury brand stores but was very different contrast to Etna and its green and black plains. Overall I would definitly recommand this trip. We had an amazing time thanks to our guide Alessandro.
