Top Catania Day Trips

Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She called to tell us exactly where to meet and how to find her. Personally, I could have skipped seeing Giardini Naxos and spent the extra time in Taormina. It was a perfect amount of time in Castelmola. The guide went above and beyond to accommodate one member of our party who was having trouble walking due to a recent surgery.

This trip was well worth it for our family of four. The day broke up our weeks vacation of beach, shopping, and eating, and allowed us to soak up culture, history, and excursion. The hike to see the crater on Etna was more like a difficult walk than a hike. The views were great as you can clearly see the closest active crater on Etna. The lunch was very good, pasta, cappuccino, and gelato. The Gorge we were unprepared for unfortunately. If we were to do this again, we would 100% bring water shoes as the river is all rocks. The river is also very cold. But refreshing in summer heat. The guides were all friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. Many of them were family members so it was great. Very good way to spend a day in Sicily and see many sites all at a once. It’s along day, you will be tired at the end. Great trip!

Pick up went very smoothly. About an hour before a pick up our tour guide/driver sent us a reminder of everything we need to bring. Usefull tip: altho web page allowes you to be picked up at via Etnea drivers cannot go there by car so pick something close like McDonalds 200 m from there. On the begining of out trip our guide Alessandro walked us through todays plan and possible options and throuought the whole way tried to explain us as many things as he could so that we have better experience when we arrive at Etna. As a group we decided to go on Etna volcano first and as we got there and while one part off our group went for a cable car/bus/walk option to the 3000 m, we opted for a trekking through volcanic craters with our tour guide. I would definitly recommand it. Our gudie made sure we are following him, and tried to modify the trekking due to our wishes and possibilities. He was also very patient and helpfull during tons of photos taken and showed us everything he coul think of. After visiting Etna (took us about 3 h due to the crowds) we went for a lunch/wine tasting option. I also recommand it if you are keen on experiencing Etna through specific engridients, products and wine sorts specific to that region. We finished our trip by going in Taormina. The place itself is nice and full of luxury brand stores but was very different contrast to Etna and its green and black plains. Overall I would definitly recommand this trip. We had an amazing time thanks to our guide Alessandro.

Our guide for the day was Iorga. He was an exceptional guide with extensive knowledge of Agrigento Valley of the Temples, Catania and Sicily. He communicated well and was prompt in attending to our needs. I highly recommend Iorga and this tour, a most enjoyable and interesting day.

Everything about this trip was brilliant Great transport Superb guide in Ramas - he gave us all such great memories and knew so much about the Mt Etna National Park The honey stop was fabulous along with wine and olive olis to sample The coffee stop had such amazing views too All in all a brilliant trip thanks to Ramas

We were in a small group and our van driver was Michael "Corleone". He was an excellent historian and tour guide, giving us a plethora of knowledge about Taormina, Castelmola and Catania. They are all extremely beautiful cities and worth visiting, but Michael really made the tour top notch!

I really enjoyed the Etna tour today. It was a very pleasant and easy-going experience from start to finish. Pickup and drop-off were smooth and well organized. Our guide, Alessandro, was friendly, knowledgeable and handled the very mixed group (different ages, nationalities and fitness levels) really well. We officially started with a tasting before walking around the Etna craters and later explored a lava cave while learning about volcanic rock flows. But honestly, the tour already started in the car ride up to Etna. Alessandro shared lots of interesting information about the villages, the landscape, local food, and the volcano itself throughout the drive. Overall, a very enjoyable and informative tour that I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful places, great atmosphere, everything was perfectly timed, small group (just 4 of us!) and zero stress - never rushed, never boring. Huge thanks to our guide Salvatore, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the day flow effortlessly. Ortigia was charming, Noto was stunning, and the whole experience felt easy and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
