I have been using viator for years and I have never had an experience like this. Every other tour I have ever done has been amazing and perfect in so many ways EXCEPT this one. Do not and I repeat, DO NOT book this tour.
We were scheduled to be picked up in the morning and no one showed up. We tried contacting the tour operator and no response (very unprofessional). I contacted support at viator and they tried calling, emailing and messaging the tour operators multiple times and NO RESPONSE.
If you're looking for a tour you can rely on this is not the tour for you.

Good morning, we have already apologized through Viator, but your reservation never arrived, so if you have someone to blame, blame Viator, not us. If you had called a couple of days in advance or sent a WhatsApp or a confirmation email since you had our contact information, we could have helped you. Technology is good for the community, but a confirmation message would have been better.
We have cecked mobile and office phone , no contact from you or viator . we receive just an e mail on 30 december at 9.30 AM with refund request

We had the absolute pleasure of touring Savoca and Taormina with Salvo and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. In Savoca, Salvo took us beyond the typical tourist spots, sharing fascinating stories about the town’s connection to The Godfather and its unique culture. In Taormina, he expertly guided us through the ancient streets, ensuring we didn't miss any of the breathtaking views or hidden gems that might be overlooked without a local’s expertise. Salvo was attentive to every detail, from accommodating our pace to offering excellent recommendations for local restaurants and shopping.
The personal anecdotes, passion for Sicily, and warm hospitality turned our day into something truly special. If you are considering a tour of this region, I cannot recommend Salvo enough. He made Sicily come alive in a way that will stay with us forever.

Taormina and Savoca was spectacular. Very beautiful and a lot of restaurants and stores to visit in Taormina and a very incredible Greek theater from old times. The guide was very good and explain in detail the highlights of what we were visiting.

Salvo was the most amazing tour guide, he taught us so much information about the region and in particular Mt Etna. He also recommended the most amazing seafood lunch destination in Taormina which had both excellent food and postcard views.
The town & walk around tour of Savoca where part of the godfather was filmed was also a highlight & a place we would love to visit again.

We had a lovely day with our driver Valentino. He took us to Savoca and we had a relaxing coffee at the Bar Vitello, walked up to the church and enjoyed the area. Our time in Taormino was super as well. We had been to the Greek amphitheatre the day before on our 10 day bus tour, so we got to see other parts of the town and try some typical street food. We even got to go into the courtyard of the Four Seasons hotel where White Lotus was filmed. Another couple who were in the vehicle when we got picked up, were taken to their hotel due to some issue. And so, we had the whole day just us....it was great. Thank you.

Called me the day before, said my 1pm booking had to be 9am. Ok no problem, my private car I booked showed up and the driver told me it was with another couple and we were going to pick them up. Called the operator of the tour (the driver was a 3rd party driver for the day) and she said no, this is your tour and argued with me, yelling at me on the phone. I said well I’m only in Catania one day, can we fix this? I’ll split the car with the other couple and tried to find a solution as the tour was advertised as private. She said no, I’ll refund you, I don’t care. I asked for a solution, she said I don’t care. I said I’m only here one day, I’d like to still go, she said no, I refund you. I told her I wasn’t going to leave her a good review on Viator for how rude she was being, and she got even more mad and told the driver to drop me where I was which was about 3 miles from my hotel. She said she has enough business and doesn’t care. The driver was a hired guy, a really nice guy and brought me to my hotel luckily.
Then I called Viator to get my money back for the day, they needed to call her, after they called her she said she was going to book me another shuttle with someone who doesn’t speak English. After she told the driver to drop me where I was, I couldn’t trust her to bring me where I needed to go. This operator tried to make me full stupid, bullied me into an earlier time, lied about the booking being private, lied to Viator, told the driver to kick me out, and yelled at me. I never raised my voice once, I tried to find a solution, and in the end was quiet in front of the other guests about what happened because the driver was embarrassed and felt terrible for how I was treated and I wanted him to have a good day with the other older couple we picked up and not ruin their day too. I would stay far away from this lady and book something from a more reputable group.

you arrived on the catamaran from Malta at 8.30 am and instead of making you wander around the city like an idixxx since your room was ready at 3, we thought we'd let you go on an excursion at 9. A bid 9 seaters van and we add a professional tour guide for free , the other 2 person were very friendly and they get a wordelfull day . We reschedule your pick up at 1 as you asked in the booking , ( see the booking ... driver Italian language ) and you was not there at pick up . No Show ,Pay Fullyou failed to say that you wanted a 50% refund because you were sharing an 8 seater with 2 other people. I won't refund you anything !!! Rude guest are not welcome in Italy
The Guide Extra will cost 180 euro and you ask for pay the tour half price .... STAY AT HOME WE DONT NEED POOR TOURIST , YOU CAN VISIT EGYPT IS CHEAPER FOR YOU

Driver will pick you up at the place indicated by you, even if not mentioned in the pick up list. Direction Savoca about 1 hour, famous town chosen by the director Francis ford Coppola to shoot some scenes of the famous Oscar-winning film The Godfather. Stop at the Vitelli bar for a photo and tour in the small quaint town. We will continue to Taormina, a charming town called the pearl of the Mediterranean, with its unique Greek-Roman theater, ( Entrance not Included ) the characteristic alleys, decorated with souvenirs, bars and typical Sicilian clubs. Return to Catania. This tour does not include a guide, which you can possibly book upon confirmation as an extra at a cost of €uro 180.00

The tour was excellent. Our guide Matteo and the tour operator Valeria were very helpful and friendly. Matteo gave us information about Sicily’s past. The locations visited were also very nice. I recommend this tour company to all visitors in the area.

Our cruise line canceled our stop due to weather 21 hours prior to tour. I contacted them immediately and requested a refund. They did not contact me until the next day and pretended not to have seen my messages. Waiting on Viator now for a refund and response. We have used Viator for many tours and have future tours booked with them. I don’t and didn’t appreciate the games with the company.

Gentile Signora , nonostante l'abbiamo chiamata almeno 10 volte sul suo cellulare e Lei non ha mai risposto , il nostro autista come testimoniato dalle foto alle ore 14.30 si è recato a Taormina porta Messina dove Lei ha selezionato il pick up . Ha atteso mezzora e lei non si è presentata . Mi può dire dove lei abbia mai selezionato che si trovata su una nave da crociera , chi lo sapeva che lei era su una nave ? Mi può dire se Lei prenota un Hotel non rimborsabile e ce maltempo , l'albergo le rimborsa la camera annullata per il mare mosso ? ridicolo
Noi serviamo sempre al meglio i clienti , ma i clienti devono collaborare !!! Lei non ha prestato alcuna collaborazione , le dieci chiamate sul cellulare le ha viste ?
Per Sua informazione le metto i dettagli in cui è scritto che la cancellazione è stata fatta il 18 maggio e l escursione era il 17 maggio , forse per il maltempo il suo cellulare non funzionava ? il luogo del prelievo era a Taormina ,porta Messina . In città approda una nave da crociera ?

This was the perfect way to see Taormina! The town was absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad I was able to see it without having to figure out public transportation while dealing with jet lag. We went to Savoca first. To be honest I originally had no interest since the Godfather isn't a huge favorite film of mine. However, the town was also very cute - once we walked past the 'Bar Vitelli' area it was also incredibly quiet and peaceful. I felt like I actually got to see life in a small town in Sicily. The drive to Taormina after that was super easy. Had a great lunch, was able to spend time admiring the views from the theater and then walk around for a while. Definitely recommend!
