What are people saying about Cartagena

Five stars for Edwin
Communication was excellent. Edwin was at the airport when we landed and waited for us despite a long immigration line. We were so grateful knowing he was there! Plus he has a clean car with good AC and he’s an excellent driver. So good we asked to have him as a driver on our return journey!

Fabio is Fabuloso
Fabio is an excellent guide and communicator. He knows the area well, explains the historical, cultural, and local customs during the walking tour of the city. You will learn about when and how the city was built, how it was defended, who occupied the area, it's cultural significance and splendor, the transition to present day use and inhabitants of the walled city.
Fabio will message you on Whatsapp once you book your tour. You will need to walk through the oasis zoo area, take a right at its exit and meet on the sidewalk outside the entrance if you're from a cruise ship. He'll let you know where to meet. Just say no gracias to all the cabbies and tour solicitors. Move past any line bcz it's only people stopping to negotiate cab pricing at the port. Fabio's group will be small so you're holding up the group if you're late. However, our tour was extended due to late arrivals. The air-conditioned van was comfortable with Fabio sharing highlights and points of significance enroute to the old walled city before beginning the walking tour. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and breathable fabric clothes because it's hot and humid. Participants need to be able to easily navigate steps, narrow sidewalks, and uneven terrain. Fabio keeps an eye out for wanderers in his group and looks out for area hazards. We felt very safe wherever we were. He'll point out differences between locally made wares and China-made, share various restaurant cuisine and pricing, and finishes with a refreshing beverage. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and trip into the old city and highly recommend Fabio as your tour guide. You will not be disappointed.

Alvaro is the Best!
Our tour guide was Alvaro and he was great!
Super in depth with detail and history; Made sure we were safe, taken care of after the tour, fed, and hydrated.
He gave us tips and made sure we weren’t in any trouble/danger.
Also, he was super funny, kind, and interactive with the group.

Ideal tour of Cartagena
This was the perfect way to see Cartagena. We were picked up at the cruise terminal and guided around by Alvaro, who was an incredibly kind young man who was passionate about his city. He was sensitive to our needs and very knowledgeable about his city's history. We enjoyed our time and the beautiful tour of Cartagena.

I had a great time...
I had a great time exploring the Historical Centre and Getsemaní on this walking tour. My guide, Liz, was incredibly personable and her passion for her home city shined throughout the experience. It was interesting to hear the history of Cartagena from her perspective—she clearly loves what she does.
While I booked the shared tour, I’d actually recommend booking a private tour if you have the chance. The group format was great, but a private session would make it easier to hear every detail and dive deeper into questions. That said, Liz did an excellent job answering my "one-off" questions as we walked between sites!
If you want a deeper appreciation for Cartagena’s culture, I’d give this a 9/10 and definitely recommend this tour with Nexperience. Don’t forget to ask for Liz!

Relaxing Painting Experience
I found this experience online while searching for something to do on the last full day of my solo trip. I wanted an activity that I could enjoy with others, but low-key, and worth the time and money. This experience checked all those boxes. A lady met me at the street near to the location, so I wouldn’t get lost, and walked me upstairs to the rooftop. I was greeted by the artist and the homeowner, both welcoming. I was offered breakfast and a bottle of water, and conversation while we waited on the rest of the group.
I’ve participated in Paint and Sip in the States, but this experience blew those out of the water. I’m a very amateur (almost nonexistent experience) painter, yet I felt comfortable and competent as the artist and translator patiently and gradually walked us through the paint experience. 10/10 highly recommend.

Perfect experience!
This was an excellent family experience! The crew kept checking in on us to refill our (delicious) drinks, and were helpful with our stroller. Our son was picked for the pirate fight, and the costumes/fireworks made it the highlight of his whole trip.
The same boat also offered a day trip to Tierra Bomba, which was a perfect pace for our young children as compared to other jam-packed itineraries. The owners and crew were thoughtful in shortening/extending timelines based on our interest in each activity, and shared stories to increase our understanding of the area and its history. They even offered antinausea medication when my husband felt seasick. We enjoyed the stories, care, and companionship from the crew members on board, and would highly recommend both the sunset cruise and the day trip for families. They were the highlights of our time in Cartagena.

Amazing Experience – Outstanding Guides!
The Half-Day Tour to Totumo Mud Volcano from Cartagena was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The mud volcano itself is such a unique and fun experience — relaxing, a little surreal, and something I’ll never forget.
What truly made this tour exceptional were our guides, Franklin and Eduardo. They were professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive the entire time. I accidentally forgot to get cash from the ATM, and without hesitation, they loaned me money so I could tip the local workers. That level of kindness and care went above and beyond what I would ever expect. It really showed how much they care about their guests and the local community.
I highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky enough to have Franklin and Eduardo as your guides, you’re in great hands!

We had options for our...
We had options for our welcome drinks.. I love how they broke down the choreography and steps for each style of dance. The teacher was very knowledgeable as well as teaching at a good pace. I was so glad I was able to brush up learning salsa, Bachata, and finally learning Champeta.

Relaxing and Fun Sunset Boat Ride
This was a fun, relaxing boat ride around Cartagena. You get one drink and one snack included with your ticket (water is free). The boat ride is smooth, there is plenty of seating, and the crew is all friendly and helpful. They play music the entire journey, which becomes more festive as the sun sets. Many people danced on our boat ride, and many more sang along to the popular songs. The view is great, though be prepared to be in the sun for the first hour or so. Also, unlike many things in Colombia, this journey starts exactly on time, so make sure you arrive early enough to not be left behind!
