I loved this activity , my friends and I had a really great experience. We learned a lot about local Colombian rums and had the yummiest chocolates. Luz and Sofia were an absolute pleasure. Hands down one of my top experiences in Colombia. I even made sure to get some of the chocolates that were at the tasting before I left the country. I learned a lot and had fun.

We booked the basic introduction. It is in a nice location, go to teracce after the tastings.
Tour introduce 4 rum and chokolades. Its very basic, not a lot of storytelling about the rum or the history- only focus on taste.

However, your review title references our Premium 2-Hour Experience (Cartagena Rum & Chocolate Tasting with Castle Views), which is a completely different product.
To clarify for future guests:
The Basic Intro (which you experienced): Focuses on a quick, fun tasting of 4 selections with minimal history. It’s perfect for a short break.
The Premium 2-Hour Experience: Includes deep storytelling, detailed rum production history, extensive cultural context, and a wider variety of premium rums and pairings.
Your comment that it was "very basic" with "not a lot of storytelling" accurately describes the Basic Intro, but it does not reflect our Premium tour, which is famous for its immersive educational depth. This was a really fun thing to do on the edge of the old town in Cartagena.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Adrian who took the class was awesome. Very knowledgeable and made me laugh several times. Was really interesting trying Colombian rums that you just never really see around the world.
Location is also great. Wish I had time to try the cooking class that they do at the venue. Truly worth doing.

This Rum & Chocolate Tasting Tour at Lunático Café was one of the highlights of our trip to Cartagena.
Gustavo was an incredible guide, knowledgeable, engaging, and full of good vibes the entire time. He walked us through the history of rum in Cartagena in such an interesting way, and the tasting itself was so much fun.
After the tour, we had lunch at the café upstairs and the views were magnificent. Great food, great atmosphere, and an overall unforgettable experience. The murals on the cafe are so beautiful.

If you landed here, just book! For A person who doesn’t like American chocolate this experience was amazing. The chocolate is nothing like American chocolate. The experience was amazing. The service was great. My friend was actually sick one day and the customer service that we received was beyond this world I would definitely do this activity over and over if given the chance.

It was very good experience. Adrian zour rumelier was really friendly and knowledgeable. We tried 10 different rums. Some of them were really great. Great choice of chocolate also.
I would make it 2 full hrs BCS the experience felt bit rushed. Drinking in such a fast speed is not pleasant

So many rums to try! Excellent location, our host was the best! The rum and chocolate were amazing. I really enjoyed the experience.
I had a really great experience. I was lucky enough to be in a small, intimate group, which made it feel almost like I had a private showing. The instruction and guidance around the Colombian rum and chocolate pairing were very, very good and informative.
The place itself was clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. I’d definitely recommend it. I originally went by myself since I got there early, but I’ll be encouraging my group to check it out as well.

Luz and Francisco did a great job of going through the different rum and chocolate offerings. I had a good time, and learned a lot about Colombian rum in the process. I was by myself, but it didn't affect the experience at all. Awesome experience!

I had an amazing time with this run and chocolate tasting. I came on trip with my mom. We left a little tipsy 🤪 BUT the heat was amazing, the vibez was giving and I loved the people I was paired with. ABSOLUTELY 💯 recommend this to another coming to Cartenga to embrace the culture and food / chocolates.
Fun tasting, it’s surprising how well chocolate pairs with rum. Plenty of samples to try the whole range of rums available.

Great way to start our vacation. Stepped off the plane and str8 to the Rum. Valentina was very knowledgeable and answered all my nosey questions 😆. Food here is good and priced reasonably. Recommend the croquets.

Both the food and the rum tasting were amazing! I advise getting there a little earlier to eat, then sit for a great educational experience rums from Colombia. After the tasting, I gained an appreciation for flavor notes in rum.
