What are people saying about Cartagena

Delightful dance lssons
Super cute rooftop patio with two lovely hosts. Superb teaching! I’ve been to previous salsa lessons, but this time I actually learned. Perfectly pitched to the group, so complete beginners and these with some previous dance experience could learn and enjoy. We also learned some colorful local slang. A great experience!

Fabulous tour with Fabio!
WEAR GOOD, covered-toe, athletic shoes, bc the walking tour is on very narrow streets, some with high curbs.
Keep your cameras and pesos ready! Fabio moves quick- but not too fast!
He had a very charming delivery and was enthusiastic the entire way! Presentation is everything and it all seemed personal to him. It was a persuasive tour, that will make you almost want to move there or escape to often. You could tell he genuinely LOVES his country and hometown! His oration was informative and rich with the history AND culture of Cartagena, at the most PERFECT time of day (4p to sundown to night fall).
To keep our attention, Fabio didn’t spend too much time at any one stop. But he did respond to ALL questions with authentic good knowledge. Several times throughout the walk he pointed out cultural distinctions between other major, neighboring tourist towns like, Medellin. Overall, he was entertaining and even comedic at appropriate times.
He was like a celebrity in the Walled City amongst the vendors and other tour guides! And he individually engaged and cared for every person in his group along the walk!

Cartagena on a Budget
It was probably the hottest day in Cartagena to be doing a walking tour for sure. William was very good about stops and keeping us in the shade as much as possible. He was very knowledgable and not only knew the area, but knew many of the locals.
William gave us tips about the vendors so we wouldn't be rushed by them and basically I felt because we were with a guide, they left us alone.
Cartagena is steeped in history and culture. I thought it was beautiful and I loved the people we interacted with.
I especially loved the "Graffiti" which I would call art. The colors and art were so captivating.
My one Complaint was our vehicle. I thought it would be bigger for 4 people and of course cooler. It did have air, but as an older model with stop and go traffic, the air conditioning was barely able to keep up. Our driver Ferney was a nice guy as well. He knew minimal English, but he was very pleasant and comfortable with his job. He smiled and kept his eye on us ;).
I can't take stars off for what is out of someone's control. William and Ferney are 5 star guys.

This tour is amazing,...
This tour is amazing, would 10/10 recommend! Especially with Jhon as the tour guide it was the perfect blend of informational and fun. I would also recommend doing the tour as early in the day as possible to beat the sun a bit. We started at the castle and got there before all of the crowds which was awesome. We were able to see Cartagena and walk around before the tour on our trip, but you really see the city through a different lense on this tour. If you are planning a trip to Cartagena I wouldn’t miss this!!!

Well coordinated walking...
Well coordinated walking food tour. Our guide Legaxy was very knowledgeable and merged the food and history. Majority of stops were at streetvendors who had the items ready for our arrival. There were also 2 assistants who looked out for us so we never got separated from the group when we lagged behind to take pictures. Legaxy also gave tips on where to eat and how to make our vacation in Cartegena safe and enjoyable.

Always enjoy going to the volcano
It was a beautiful day, and the people were extremely nice, they provided a nice lunch, and we went to a private beach. the volcano is extremely fun but understand you're not in there all day you get to go in there for 15 to 20 minutes and it's not that large but that's never bothered me the times I've gone the things that are frustrating there and it has nothing to do with the tour guide is that when you get in as people that want to massage you and then when you go to the Lagoon to wash off the ladies there are extremely rude if you don't want this services but just ignore that and enjoy the time it's a unique experience

Five stars for Edwin
Communication was excellent. Edwin was at the airport when we landed and waited for us despite a long immigration line. We were so grateful knowing he was there! Plus he has a clean car with good AC and he’s an excellent driver. So good we asked to have him as a driver on our return journey!

I had a great time...
I had a great time exploring the Historical Centre and Getsemaní on this walking tour. My guide, Liz, was incredibly personable and her passion for her home city shined throughout the experience. It was interesting to hear the history of Cartagena from her perspective—she clearly loves what she does.
While I booked the shared tour, I’d actually recommend booking a private tour if you have the chance. The group format was great, but a private session would make it easier to hear every detail and dive deeper into questions. That said, Liz did an excellent job answering my "one-off" questions as we walked between sites!
If you want a deeper appreciation for Cartagena’s culture, I’d give this a 9/10 and definitely recommend this tour with Nexperience. Don’t forget to ask for Liz!

Relaxing Painting Experience
I found this experience online while searching for something to do on the last full day of my solo trip. I wanted an activity that I could enjoy with others, but low-key, and worth the time and money. This experience checked all those boxes. A lady met me at the street near to the location, so I wouldn’t get lost, and walked me upstairs to the rooftop. I was greeted by the artist and the homeowner, both welcoming. I was offered breakfast and a bottle of water, and conversation while we waited on the rest of the group.
I’ve participated in Paint and Sip in the States, but this experience blew those out of the water. I’m a very amateur (almost nonexistent experience) painter, yet I felt comfortable and competent as the artist and translator patiently and gradually walked us through the paint experience. 10/10 highly recommend.

Best tour guide
Raul went above and beyond to make sure we were safely picked up and returned. He is so very knowledgeable about Colombian history and it shows. He personally took us around many shops to get linen and specific souvenirs, and made sure we got to the desired restaurant to eat a great meal at Mare. Will definitely book with him again

Perfect experience!
This was an excellent family experience! The crew kept checking in on us to refill our (delicious) drinks, and were helpful with our stroller. Our son was picked for the pirate fight, and the costumes/fireworks made it the highlight of his whole trip.
The same boat also offered a day trip to Tierra Bomba, which was a perfect pace for our young children as compared to other jam-packed itineraries. The owners and crew were thoughtful in shortening/extending timelines based on our interest in each activity, and shared stories to increase our understanding of the area and its history. They even offered antinausea medication when my husband felt seasick. We enjoyed the stories, care, and companionship from the crew members on board, and would highly recommend both the sunset cruise and the day trip for families. They were the highlights of our time in Cartagena.

Relaxing and Fun Sunset Boat Ride
This was a fun, relaxing boat ride around Cartagena. You get one drink and one snack included with your ticket (water is free). The boat ride is smooth, there is plenty of seating, and the crew is all friendly and helpful. They play music the entire journey, which becomes more festive as the sun sets. Many people danced on our boat ride, and many more sang along to the popular songs. The view is great, though be prepared to be in the sun for the first hour or so. Also, unlike many things in Colombia, this journey starts exactly on time, so make sure you arrive early enough to not be left behind!
