Our day on the boat was absolutely amazing! Alejandra and crew were very accommodating, friendly and fun. The Rosario islands were stunning, we were even able to get a piña colada from a nearby floating kayak bar! What an incredible day and something I would highly recommend!

Our charter took us to a restaurant owned by their friends (they called ahead and arranged it) they charged us $400 extra for our meal and produced a falsified receipt when we disputed it with our credit card company. The restaurant was owned by friends of the boat owner, and we found many reviews online afterwards stating this is common. In addition the water is very rough and not safe for kids.

We would like to clarify that we operate strictly as a private boat charter service with captain. We do not own, manage, or have any business relationship with restaurants on the islands. Restaurant stops are entirely optional and always chosen by the guests during the trip. We never arrange pricing, billing, or payments for any restaurant, and we do not receive commissions or have control over their operations. For this reason, we are not able to comment on or be responsible for restaurant charges or documentation. Regarding sea conditions, navigation safety is always our top priority. Routes are adjusted based on weather and guest comfort, and many families with children safely enjoy these trips every week. However, sea conditions in open water can vary and are outside of any operator’s control. We are always available to assist guests during or after the experience and would have gladly helped address any concerns in real time. We take guest satisfaction very seriously and remain committed to providing safe and professional experiences.

Rosario Island Private tour

This was a fun tour and it was nice to tailor it to your wants. The captain and first mate were great. They asked if we wanted to snorkel and what island we wanted to stop at. The only inaccurate information was the fancy boat featured on the tour experience is not the boat you get. Ours was a little dated. I suggest you bring enough cash. The food was ok on the Island, nothing to rave about. The island we stopped at charged a 10% credit card fee. Bring snacks, food, drinks as a cooler with ice is provided. If you do not have your own snorkel gear be prepared with $40,000 COP cash only.

Great but beware of lunch scam

Hiring a private boat is a must. Otherwise, you are in a horrible cattle call with the other operators. It was worth every penny. You will be greeted by someone that gets you to the boat and then you are out on the boat all day. You can customize where you want to go and how long to stay. It was safe. My only complaint is that the beach club where we ate lunch they asked us if we wanted to provide lunch for the boat crew of two people. We felt pressured to do this. Why wouldn’t the boat crew bring their own lunch? It’s one thing if they were sitting there with us, of course we would buy them lunch, but they were attending to the boat. It just seems like they should pack their own lunch. We felt obligated so we did send them the lunch and we were surprised it was more expensive than we were expecting. This just reduce the amount we gave them as a tip at the end. I think it’s a scam with the restaurant so maybe it should be made very clear multiple times while we are still on the boat not to fall for the scam at the beach club. It was included in the pre-departure information, but it was in the fine print and not highlighted. Seems like the boat operators would not allow this to happen. Or they should have given us a printed out piece of paper in English that clearly says we have our own lunch. Do not buy us a lunch but we appreciate your tips.

Unfortunately, this is a common practice at some restaurants, where they try to avoid providing the complimentary crew meal (which is normally a courtesy they offer directly to captains and crew) by asking guests if they would like to “offer” lunch instead. This can indeed create an uncomfortable sense of pressure, which is never our intention for our guests. As mentioned in the pre-departure information, we do advise guests of this practice in advance, but we fully acknowledge your feedback that it should be communicated more clearly and prominently. Based on comments like yours, we will make this point much more explicit going forward and reinforce it verbally onboard so guests feel confident declining if they wish. The boat was good. We enjoyed our day. Crew were nice. But here is some advice : plan to go to (and pay for) a beach club. Otherwise bring your own food. There is no alternative to paying the beach club entry fee and per person minimum. We tried and ended up on a public beach (which was fine) and the menu was very limited (rice and fish or chicken) and expensive. It would only have cost slightly more to go to the beach club. There was also limited shade on the boat. Even though there is an awning, the 3 crew were always under it leaving little room for others. This was most notable when we anchored and those who weren’t swimming wanted some shade but it wasn’t really available. Bring lots of cash. In addition to paying for lunch in cash there was a dock fee per person not included in the Viator price.

My family absolutely loved our boat tour of the Rosario Islands and Baru! Alejandra was our guide and she was so friendly and sweet to our kids. On our tour we drove an hour out to Rosario Island (Isla Grande) and we rented snorkels and saw so many beautiful fish. It was such a fun experience. Then we went to an upscale beach club for relaxing and lunch PA’UE Beach Lounge. The prices were fair there and food was great. We relaxed, kayaked and paddled boarded. Then they took us to a last stop in Baru in the mangroves where we saw tons of friendly raccoons where they come up to you and you get to feed them! I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes! The kids loved it!! After this, we rode back to Cartagena. The ride was bumpy but not terrible. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Great experience from beginning to end. Started with great communication from the company making sure we knew exactly where to meet and discuss all the details. Genuinely wanted our boat day to be exactly what we wanted. Gave suggestions and were very flexible with timing and plans. When we realized the private beaches were too quiet for us, they took us to another island that was perfect. The captains were very friendly and experienced. My kids truly loved the experience.

Carlos and team were great. We felt very safe and secure even through the wavy waters back. Disappointed that there was no snorkel equipment despite us saying that from the reservation. Come with a plan to execute! Know that if you do choose a more local beach the price will be more than a nice beach club. Better to just do the beach club!!

The captain and guide (Alejandra) were all very knowledgeable and friendly. They offered recommendations for where to go and things to do. If more than three people want to snorkel or you have your own equipment, I would bring your snorkel/mask and any fins if you would want. Lots of fish snorkeling, coral okay. Definitely better for beach club/island hopping. Very personalizable for your groups interests/needs.

This was the best experience in Cartagena. The boat ride was great, my kids loved the snorkeling and sightseeing the Rosario Islands. Pa’ue Beach Club was beautiful and relaxing and the food was delicious. It was the perfect beach getaway. Alejandra did a great job organizing everything and the boat crew, Juan Diego and Jorge, were great.

Great experience. The captain, Monnroy and Alberto were fantastic. We were able to plan our itinerary with a variety of options. We had an amazing day of snorkeling, beach club, paddle boarding/kayaking, lunch and quick mangrove/nature preserve stop. They explained what we were seeing as well as historical and curious details along the way. It was a great experience for our group which included two couples, two teenagers and two kids. There was something for everyone.

Perfect Boat Day in Cartagena

We came to Cartagena via cruise ship. Alejandra reached out to me the day before our stop and customized our day based on our desires for the day. We had to start late and finish early to keep with the time ashore and she made everything seem less. We sailed out to Rosario Island, did a panoramic tour of the island, stopped at a Beach club and lounged on the beach. Drinks and Good were available to us as needed. We then sailed back and made it on plenty of time to sail away with our ship.

We had an amazing time! The boat is very comfortable and our crew was so great. We celebrated my bachelorette and had the best time at Mangata beach club. Then we went to cholon which is like a sandbar so you get off the boat and hang out in The water. There’s drinks and food there too. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with this tour from pre-trip planning, suggestions, making reservations at beach clubs to follow-up and consistent communication even during the trip to ensure we were having a great time. We visited the Rosario Islands with a group of 9 people and the tour was seamless. We even changed our itinerary on the day of because we wanted to spend more time at one of the beach clubs and the crew made it happen! This is not a review of the tour group or services-- but the boat ride on the way back was extremely choppy due to the high winds and waves. The crew did an EXCELLENT job navigating this and making sure that we felt safe. I would recommend this tour and will definitely be coming back and booking with them!

5 Stars BUT .... This tour was fun and relaxing, our tour guide was a great translator and great host! They asked us what islands or activities we wanted to do, then recommended some of their own... PAUE was relaxing and very aesthetically pleasing, Tulum was more partying.. we were about 45 mins late but it was fine they helped guide us to the boat (cuz we were lost lol) The crew will ask you to pay for their food but we made it clear they could chose between the expensive food or pesos.. App + entre + 2 drinks + tip will be about $100 on the island (normal) BOAT RIDE IS NOT FOR THE WEAK The waters are rough and the ride is about 45 mins... Like I said for us (4 Men in their 20s) it was bumpy but still fun, for older more delicate, or sea sick individuals, maybe not so much.. you will get wet and you will need to pee before you head back! Would recommend with caution but very fun for us!

The highlight of our trip!

This boating experience was the highlight of my trip to Colombia! Rosario Islands are absolutely gorgeous and having the boat to ourselves was so nice. We saw other group tour boats and they looked absolutely packed! We had a delicious lunch on Coralina, which was peaceful and had stunning views! We also snorkeled a good portion of the trip which was a blast. If you plan to snorkel bring bread! The boat was super nice and the captain and skipper were pleasant and very aware of our needs, bringing water and our drinks over to us as we were enjoying the surroundings. I’d recommend this trip to anyone!
