I arrived to the location, a beautiful coffee shop with local charm. The class is amazing. I got to learn about the history of coffee and learn from someone who really appreciates their craft. My only disappointment is the misleading text of them session. It was described as you would get to choose your bean roasted and grind it yourself. All of which never occurred. The master performed everything in front of us audience. I enjoyed learning, but this was advertise as a more hands-on experience and I was left wanting.

I really enjoyed this experience. I’m a coffee lover and wanted an immersive experience and that’s exactly what I got. You can see the love the owner has for his craft. I also enjoyed the 80s/90s music references that filtered through the presentation. As for the coffee - amazing! I should’ve bought more.

David was super knowledgeable about coffee, the roasting process, global bean varieties, coffee history and more. We got to sample multiple coffee varieties and brewing styles. Definitely worth it, especially if you love coffee. Plus, we David is very funny and didn’t rush through the class, and we go to take down Colombian coffee home with us. Would do again!

First we were not accepted at the scheduled time as the host was not even aware of the event. So we had to go two hours later.
About the actual time experience, they was not roasting of the beans and none of it was interactive at all. The host just talked for two hours and spoke fast and softly with a thick accent and it was to understand what he was saying. I asked him to speak up a few times and it didn’t change anything. And he never engaged the audience in any way and kept talking the whole time without making sure anyone was following along. And all the coffees prepared as part of this experience tasted pretty bad. So total waste of money and time.

Was interesting and the coffee was outstanding! Just too long (3 hours and 2 would have been plenty long). Also we were jammed in. We had a group of nine, and there was barely room for us, then 2 more joined us. Uncomfortably tight.

David is incredible. Not only was the coffee tasting delicious, it was informative and interactive! My group and I learned so much about the history and traditions of coffee and got a free bag of coffee at the end. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cartagena or who loves coffee!

This was a grat experience, we both got to learn so much more about coffee. David was a master at his craft and made it super engaging and fun. We stayed behind a little to talk to him some more and never felt rushed or like we were bothering him. You can tell he loves what he does.

This was a really cool experience. We learned about the history of coffee while trying various types from light to dark coffee. He has so many different ways of preparing the coffee as well. It was a fun experience and David is really knowledgeable and funny. We would do this again!

This was a great experience learning about different kinds of coffee and various methods used to make it in a unique coffee shop! We also learned about the history of coffee and more. We were able to pick from a variety of pre-packaged coffees at the end, but we did not get to choose the bean, roast and grind it like the description stated. Overall, it was still a great experience and I'd recommend it!

Overall, I thought it was a very good experience. The guide was very knowledgeable about the Colombia's coffee history and beyond. The only thing that didn't align with my expectations is the statement listed in the Overview. We didn't "choose your bean, roast and grind it" ourselves, so the experience didn't exactly align with the overview and picture. Otherwise it was a good tour.

The gentleman giving the "experience" was a terrific person. It was, however, rather hard to understand his English. On our particular tour date some of his assistants had failed to show up so he did the best he could do under the circumstances. The location was a little hard to find--but the others in the class were terrific. We highly recommend this tour if you are looking for something unusual to do while in Cartagena.

Very interesting coffee experience served up by an extremely knowledgeable coffee roaster who is also an engineer and has the widest variety of coffee preparation devices I have ever seen. Worth the price of admission! You learn a lot and taste a lot and leave with complimentary coffee, too!

This was a great introduction to the worldwide history of coffee by a very knowledgeable coffee connoisseur. David & his team at Café de Mural allowed us to taste 5-6 different types of coffee brewed in various ways, plus we each got to take home a bag of our favorite coffee beans that we tried during the class. It was interesting to learn that although Colombia now supplies some of the best coffee beans in the world, the preparations are very much influenced by German, Italian, & Dutch technology and influence. While we didn’t leave the class jittery after the 2.5 hour tasting, my husband and I both had a night of wild dreams following this experience :) Still would highly recommend for any coffee enthusiasts when visiting Cartagena!

Amazing experience! Extremely thorough and intimate — only 6 people can be on the tour at one time. The owner is knowledgeable, funny, and kind. Plus you get to take home coffee at the end! Highly recommend this.

This was such an awesome experience. David, the man who owns the shop is SO knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about coffee and his shop. The coffee shop is in Getsemani and is so charming. My husband and I learned so much from David about the history of coffee, exporting, harvesting the beans, and even marketing and branding of coffee. We loved how they gave us so many opportunities to try different types of coffee (my husband actually enjoyed this...he's not a coffee fan!). The staff was so great and David gave us a half a bag of coffee each at the end of the experience. It was such a great activity to do and I highly recommend it...especially if you love coffee and history :)
