What are people saying about Cartagena

Highly recommended!
I booked many things to do on my recent trip to Cartagena but the cooking class was fantastic. The two cooks were fun and engaging and the small team of 9 of us got on really well. We cooked empanadas, patacones, coconut rice and baked fish and sat down in the restaurant together and enjoyed our lovely meal. Highly recommended.

The BEST Tasting with Wendy
We did our tour with Wendy and it was amazing. She was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable, I’m so grateful that she was our guide. I only speak English (but learning Spanish) and my boyfriend speaks a little bit of Spanish, so she did the tour in both languages so that I could practice. We had a great time, laughing talking and Shari g our love of rum and chocolate. We had the store to ourselves maybe because it was a slower day of the week; we went on Tuesday evening right before the World Cup game between the democratic Republic of Congo and Colombia. It was a great way to pregame that event in style. The rum was delicious, and there was a lot of variety in the age, notes and type, and she taught us all about the culture.

Loving the non “mainstream” rums in a different part of the Caribbean
This was a really fun thing to do on the edge of the old town in Cartagena.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Adrian who took the class was awesome. Very knowledgeable and made me laugh several times. Was really interesting trying Colombian rums that you just never really see around the world.
Location is also great. Wish I had time to try the cooking class that they do at the venue. Truly worth doing.

Relaxing Time
A truly relaxing 1.5 to 2 hour trip to watch the sunset. There is one-drink (beer/wine/lemonade) included per person, but you can buy additional drinks (credit only). Simply stated: this is a relaxing cruise down the harbor to witness sunset. A nice photographer was on our trip. She takes wonderful pictures. Don't hesitate, spend a nice relaxing ride with your partner, parents, or kids.

Wonderful cooking class in the walled city in Cartagena
Owar and his assistant made this cooking class an absolute highlight of our time in Cartagena. The kitchen is set inside a gorgeous historic building in the walled city — a beautiful and atmospheric space to spend an afternoon.
After a month traveling through Colombia, we’ve tried a lot of food, but this class introduced us to dishes that were still completely new to us. The food preparation was thorough and well-paced, with clear instructions that made every step feel approachable. Owar’s warm personality and his assistant’s attentiveness kept the whole experience fun and engaging. We LOVED the dessert - a definite highlight of an already wonderful meal. We left excited to recreate everything at home for our friends and family.
If you’re looking for a hands-on, authentic culinary experience in Cartagena, this is it. Highly recommend!
Happy to tweak anything else!

What a wonderful experience!
Wow this was such a fun morning! Daniel the chef is funny, engaging and a great teacher. He took us to the local market (fair warning, it’s chaotic and you should probably avoid wearing light trouser) - it was authentic and so very cool! We were taken to a spot where Anthony bourdain had eaten previously.
We then made such a beautiful and delicious meal which showcased the diversity of cartagena (mote de queso, topside beef and tree tomato as dessert) and were sent the recipes afterwards - we’ll see if I can recreate it at home. Overall a fantastic thing to do.

Great drinks
This experience was very unique in that it was in a fancy/cute setting and we got to make both drinks and enjoy small appetizers and listen to music while doing so. The drinks were strong too, and I tried things outside of my comfort zone. I was pleasantly surprised.

This market and cooking...
This market and cooking class was one of the best tours! Maria and her mom opened up their home to teach us Colombian cooking and they were so welcoming and fun. The market was fun to explore and we learned so much about Cartagena. I highly suggest this tour with Maria Angelica and her mom. Thank you!
