The meeting is at 8:00 a.m. or 45 minutes after the ship arrival. Zone 1 at the pier in the Cartagena cruise port. Directions: upon disembarkation, walk approximately 500 feet along the pier to Zone 1 (where the containers are). A representative will be waiting for you here wearing a polo labeled 'Guianza Express SAS' and holding a sign with your name on it. He/she will then walk you to the bus/staging area (10-15 minute walk). A vehicle will be parked in the parking area of the cruise ship pier. Please DO NOT take the shuttle bus.

What To Expect

Receive a morning pickup from your Cartagena hotel or cruise port. Depending on whether you've selected the optional 1-hour market visit, you'll either begin by shopping for ingredients, or head straight to your cooking session.

Those guests who pick the market visit will get a sneak peek into the authentic culture of Cartagena, stopping to explore the wild variety of vegetables, traditional cooking, local fish, and more for sale at this free-wheeling center of Colombian commerce. You’ll also help your host as they bargain for ingredients to be used in your cooking lesson, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of live music from the bands that typically set up at the center.

Following your market visit, proceed to the fishing village of La Boquilla, where you'll begin your cooking session in the home of a local family.
