Overview
Learn to cook like a local, from a local, with a four-course cooking class. Your instructor will take you and your fellow classmates through the process of preparing two starters, an entree, and a dessert, equipping you with everything you need to prepare the same dishes at home. After you're done, you'll all sit down to dine on your creations together.

Our friends group of 6 booked this culinary cooking experience in Catagena with Chef Romario in Sky Kitchen. We have a fantastic time! Romario was a great teacher and taught us cool techniques using local ingredients. The resulting Colombia meal fabulous. The setting was exquisite and peaceful at the same time. We love doing cooking experiences in various cities, and this was truly one of the best.

Well run cooking school in a new modern building in the old city. They paid exceptional attention to the allergy needs of the guests, the facility was super clean, the chefs are fantastic and all the helpers made for a smooth experience. We loved what we cooked!

Come hungry! The experience was very organized and well run. We made interesting food and learned a lot. Their communication before we arrived was exceptional and they went above and beyond to accommodate our timing and extra large group.

Alvaro and his team were wonderful! We learned so much about Colombian cuisine and had fun as a family. The kitchen was clean, the lesson organized and the menu DELICIOUS! They were able to accommodate our dietary needs. We were thrilled!

Romario(Chef) & Deyanis(Chef assistant) were wonderful. Took there time and was very patient. What relaxing and informative way of cooking. I will attend next time I'm in Cartagena (Wall City). It is a must see and attend.

I learned a lot about cooking with local Colombian ingredients such as lulo, a tasty citrusy fruit with seeds. Alvaro was very kind, patient, and informative. The dessert smelled so good while cooking I wanted to capture the smell and remember it forever. All of the dishes turned out perfectly. The kitchen space was beautiful and clean and the staff was very friendly. Such a great experience, I definitely recommend it!

Romario and the team were amazing, so friendly, and excited to guide us through an incredible menu.
Each dish was beautifully prepared and we got to learn about the local ingredients used as well as taste things along the way.
It was a great afternoon filled with fun chats, hands on learning, and four delicious courses with the recipes to keep! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for an immersive food experience.

Great experience, we were just the two of us and Juan was very attentive and detailed. We loved the ability to sit and enjoy each course as we prepared them. The space was clean and well lyes out, ideal for the cooking class.

Romario was nothing short of amazing . He is very knowledgeable, patient clean and an overall amazing chef. He took his time with every course - he explained everything we were eating and doing thoroughly. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is traveling to Cartagena.

I had such a great time! This class was personal and private. The 4 courses they taught me how to make were delicious and left me feeling full. Very clean and modern kitchen. I’m glad I booked and would for sure recommend others to join. Spoke great English and had answers to all of my questions. They even emailed me the recipes so I can practice on my own at home. I feel as though the money is worth this unique experience. It is outside but there are many fans to give some airflow, and it did not bother me at all. As someone who enjoys to cook I appreciate learning new techniques and ingredients I can use.

We enjoyed the chef and staff; however, we expected a better experience and food options based on the money we paid. The website said that the first group to purchase this activity could select the food option. We were the only people there and told that we were the first to book. However, we were unable to change what they had selected for us even though I asked beforehand. Finally, it took nearly 2-3 months after we were there to get an email with the recipes. I would search around for another tour company. It isn’t worth $85 (USD).

The chef and staff did a fantastic job. They were a well oiled machine.
We enjoyed learning about the ingredients and how to prepare the dishes.
I had no idea there was no air conditioning. I expected a kitchen to be enclosed and experience a break from the heat. My mistake for not inquiring in advance. Personally, it was way too hot to be enjoyable midday.

It was planned meticulously, organized , clean , done with finesse and class. All 4 courses were delicious, they sauces were made , the salads , the sides, a lot more than learning just four dishes. Chef was amazing and his team of a dozen assistants were kind beautiful and caring. Enjoyed it with my three adult children.
All 5 of us had zero regrets booking this excursion ..

Great time with my family. Learning how to make Colombian culture food. The staff were very welcoming when we first rhyme, and they made our experience wonderful by making us feel as though we were part of their family. Everything was run efficiently. It was also a great way for us to brush up on our Spanish, although they did have English-speaking chefs. We would definitely do this experience again, or at the very least bring more people with us.

I wanted to experience a simple Colombia activity. I was surprised how amazing this class was from start to finished. I wish I had enough time to do the rum tasting class but when I return I’ll definitely be back.

What a wonderful class! My 9 year old daughter and I wanted to learn something about Colombian cooking and this class was perfect. The class was perfectly paced, the team paid attention to every detail, and we leaned to make four amazing dishes. Highly recommend this!

This is exactly what we hoped for, and honestly the highlight of our time in Cartagena. Romero was an expert chef with perfect English, teaching us how to make arepas just like the movie Encanto! Every bite was incredible and the recipes were easy enough we will be trying them again at home. My favorite Viator experience yet.

Really good experience, in fact we ended up recommending this experience to other people we met in Cartagena.
As a foodie, I’ve traveled all around the world and I ALWAYS take cooking classes in order to learn authentic methods. With that said, the only thing I wish is that viator would have allowed the option for a more authentic menu option. The viator menu is a bit more refined and elevated fine dining recipes. I would’ve loved to make more local homestyle dishes like posta negra, ceviche, even sancocho! So next time we book, we will book with them directly to choose from different menus!

My husband and I got a private class. Our chef spoke English very well and was a very good leader. These are recipes I will try to make at home. The food was better than anything else we have had in Colombia ( in week 3). It was a nice way to spend some time in a cooler setting doing something fun that is not too strenuous! We may even do another class with sky kitchen!!

My experience in this class was nothing short of amazing. The dishes we made were really good and it felt great to learn how to make each meal from scratch. A wonderful experience for our first visit to Cartagena! Romario and his staff were friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable. The food we cooked together was delicious! Cleanliness and safety was at the forefront of the team’s minds throughout the experience. I think we must have washed our hands at least 8-10 times throughout the experience - fine by us! :) We met a great family during the experience as well. It’s intimate as you are all cooking - then eating - all together. Unlimited water is provided throughout the experience, which is a huge plus. Truly a beautiful setting, great instruction, and the best part? We got the recipes emailed to us after the class! Highly recommend for those just getting acquainted with Colombian food and culture.
