What are people saying about Cancun

Excellent way to beat the crowds and learn from an amazing guide.
After lots of research we settled on this tour so that we could avoid long pick up and drop offs of a large bus tour. Also so that we could arrive earlier in the day. The communications were excellent (though WhatsApp messages). They confirmed pick up time with us at 6:30am and even texted in the morning that they were running a few minutes late. We were the last pick up. I think the air conditioned van could hold 14 but we had 8 which made for comfortable ride. Before the toll road we stopped for a potty break and snacks at a local gas station (10 paso for the toilet). The drive is ~2.5 hours to Chichen Itza. One other plus of the small van is we were able to park much closer to the entrance than the big buses.
The highlight of this tour was Carmen our guide. It was clear she was extremely educated on Mayan history and culture. On the drive she taught us about the history, the beliefs and how the created the Mayan calendar which was all very interesting and informative. You could tell that Carmen had passion and pride for sharing the history with us.
Once we arrived, Carmen rushed us through the ticket area and entrance in the site. We first stopped at the iconic pyramid and she gave us some free time for photos and to walk the perimeter. Then Carmen taught us all about the construction and history of the site. At every point she had new informative details we would have never seen or understood if we went on our own. She had well informed details answers to every question we had. She was truly a joy to be with.
We did not expect the site to be so huge so then we moved to see other structures and areas of the site that many people likely miss. We spent a few hours there and found it to be really educational. It was in the 90s and there is little shade so be prepared for the heat.
After this we returned to the van to go to lunch at a Cenote about 30 minutes away. This was really refreshing after the heat at Chechen Itza. Again we beat the larger tours to this attraction so it was not very crowded when we arrived. After swimming in the cool water we had a buffet lunch which did not include drinks so have Pasos ready. The food was really good and then we returned to the van to go to Ek Balam.
Ek Balam was a real surprise as we were unaware of it before our trip. Its a more recent find and has not had much restoration. The highlight was that were were allowed to walk/climb on the structures and to the top of the pyramid.
The trip is not difficult but we were exhausted partly do to the heat so when we returned to the van most took a nap for the long drive home.

Great choice
Sasha was awesome. The market visit was great! I wish we could have been part of picking out some of the ingredients while we were there, and could have made our own margaritas as part of the experience, but overall the class was great. The dietary accommodation was very much appreciated and we had a great time.

Worth the trip
Our guide, Yos, was excellent! A great ambassador for Mexico. She shared information about her home town, traditions/legends of the Mayan people, favorite foods, religious references and much history. The Tulum site itself was much more than I expected. A tiny city along a gorgeous lush coastline. It is quite a bus ride from Cancun. Travel time to/from Tulum takes just as much time as we spent at the ruins. But so glad we went. Definitely worth the visit!

Fantastic Tour with Phenomenal Guides
This was a wonderful way to experience the culinary blend of Cancun. We got to try foods from all over Mexico and experience it the same way locals do. Angel and Sasha were fantastic guides. Sasha’s explanation of how certain foods are prepared and what they mean to him personally really gives you an appreciation for the amazing culture and food you get to try. My wife and I love food tours. We feel it’s the best way to immerse ourselves in a city/country, and this tour provided that and then some.

Great experience
This was a very full day, but it was worth the early start to get a look at Chichen Itza and take photos without a hundred tourists walking in front. The lunch was great, and the small group format was also good, as we got to know each other a bit while eating. The cenote was very cold but for the most part we were the only ones there so it was like we had it to ourselves. Ek Balam was very much a highlight as you can actually climb the steps of the major structures and get a better sense of how people lived. Our guide was very informative, and our driver was very efficient. The tour operator arranged a time for pick up the day before the tour, and they were actually a few minutes early to pick me up. Total trip was about 11 hours. I'm very glad I booked this tour.

When you are asked to dance, you should dance
Was a really fun an upbeat boat trip. The snorkeling is very tough, you’ve got to cover a distance with a decent current and no fins. If I did it again, I’d find a way to bring fins. Food was great. Drinks were great. We got 3 hours on the island. If you’re just shopping, I wouldn’t rent a cart. If you want to see the whole island, it will be around $130 for a golf cart for 3 hours.

Charming Day in Puerto Morelos
We had a wonderful experience — the service was excellent from start to finish, including a helpful confirmation call the day before. Of all our excursions during the week, this company was by far the most communicative and organized.
This tour is run by the same company that does the popular snorkel trips. About 90% of people chose snorkeling that day, and only four of us did the taco tour — which honestly made it feel more personal. The town of Puerto Morelos ended up being my favorite area of the entire trip: charming, walkable, and full of small-town character.
We visited two taco restaurants; both were good. I’d rate the first one 9/10 and the second about 7.5/10. We also had time to shop between stops, plus a tequila tasting and an ice cream break, which made the day feel nicely paced.
My only qualm was the tequila tasting. It was fun and informative, but they emphasized that “real” tequila can only be made with 100% blue agave — and implied it was nearly impossible to find except through their special bottles. When we got back to our hotel, we checked our own bottle (1800) and saw it was also 100% blue agave. It felt a bit like a sales tactic rather than a rare insight.
Despite that, this was still one of my favorite excursions of the trip. The communication, the friendly guides, and the chance to explore Puerto Morelos made it truly memorable. I’d definitely recommend it — just go into the tequila portion with a grain of salt!

Must do excursion!
This was truly such a great activity! I went to Mexico solo and loved having my pictures taken for me. The workers were incredibly friendly and patient. We got our pictures about 24 hours after the excursion ended and I was sent 250+ pictures to sort through! Food at the beach club was great as well.

A must! Amazing food, company & tequila!
AMAZING! Not only did the guys take us to places we would have never otherwise found, they also provided context/ backstory to each taco stop. So many interesting titbits of information about the origins of the cuisine! Every taco was different and full of flavour. I went solo on this trip as the rest of my travel party didn't fancy it - their loss! I felt completely safe throughout and enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you SO much for making the tour so memorable both!
