Itinerary

After pickup from your hotel in Cancun, board an air-conditioned coach destined for the UNESCO-listed Chichen Itza — a New7Wonder of the world.

On arrival, you’ll embark on a comprehensive tour of the archeological site with your private guide; receive a fascinating introduction to the cultural and historical significance of the area as you visit prominent features like the Ball Court — famed for its mystifying acoustics — and the Temple of Warriors.

Capture photographs before the Kukulkan Pyramid (El Castillo) — Chichen Ittza’s towering icon — and hear of the shadow snake that appears at certain times of year. After a 2-hour tour, return to your vehicle and travel to the Ik Kil cenote, a sinkhole with iridescent waters.

Opt to plunge into the waters before revitalizing with a buffet lunch of Mexican specialties at the cenote's restaurant. Sated, proceed to a lodge to immerse yourself in the hot stone ceremony known as temezcal (a cleansing ceremony that uses volcanic heat).

After greeting the shaman and experiencing a cleaning ceremony, enter the spherical hut to feel the heat of glowing volcanic rocks, reputed to alleviate bad energy from your body. The temezcal ceremony is entirely optional, and the heat within your hut can be adjusted by your shaman whenever you wish.

When your cleansing experience concludes, relax in a hammock before enjoying a light dinner of tropical fruits and natural beverages. Bid your guide farewell when you’re dropped off at your Cancun hotel.
