Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. Jan was able to answer any questions and the tour was well paced -‘even stopping at a cafe for a lovely break. I would recommend him without any reservations.

We scheduled with Jan for a few hours after a long travel day to Vienna. He was very knowledgeable but kept the tour light even when touching on some dark history. Jan helped us find the subway and get passes for the week, took us to a bakery because one of my kids was hungry and at the end of the tour got us a seat in a great café!
All 4 of us agreed that it was a perfect first experience in the city.

Highly recommended! Jan has a passion for Viennese history, art, and architecture and it shows. Highly knowledgeable and there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer. His English is perfect, which unfortunately was not the case with many other tours we took. We learned more about St. Stephen’s in 15 minutes than we did in an entire 2 hours on a different tour. I saw things in Vienna I had never seen, despite living here for 4 months long ago.

You can tell right away that Jan loves what he does and was really engaging while sharing all his knowledge. We ended the tour at the an amazing coffee shop which was delicious. Jan also provided us with so many recommendations so enhance the rest of our stay in Vienna. We would 100% recommend this tour!!

Jan is an incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic tour guide, with a clear passion for Vienna's eclectic history which he's able to make so contagious through vibrant story telling and interesting, often hilarious, facts, that we were actually interrupted mid tour by a documentary team asking if they could record his speech about one of the monuments he was explaining. Being very professional, he initially declined to break from his tour but I insisted he give a brief interview so that viewers of the documentary could enjoy his engaging speaking style and expertise too. His tour was really nuanced and tailored to the individual, offering an array of recommendations on where best to eat in the city and hidden gems, from the special backstreet cafe that serves coffee in cones through a window, to funny 'treasure hunts' for certain secrets of St Stephen's cathedral. He even provided a break in the tour to sample some culinary delights at one of the locals' preferred haunts for strudel and cake. The most special part of the tour for my family was the fact that we visited Vienna to celebrate the birthday of my late father, who was always intrigued by the history of the city; with this in mind, Jan kindly included facts he thought my dad would have liked to know after learning about him, and even made a beautiful suggestion of sponsoring a rose in memory of him at the Volkesgarten, a possibility I would never have known about without Jan's insight. I hope to visit again sometime and feel like I've left Vienna with a much deeper appreciation for the city, and with a new friend too.

Jan's tour was a wonderful way to start our time in Vienna. He gave us a good overview of the city, making it easier to find things on our own later. Jan shared interesting and amusing stories about the history of Vienna. His pictures and stories were engaging and brought the story of Vienna to life.
