Our instructor did a really great job of explaining each step of the process and took the time for us to create our individual chocolate bars. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour! Fun for all ages!

We got lost so we were late. They still managed to accommodate us as we didn't have any children with us. Parking is not the easiest but there is street parking available. The facts about how chocolate is made and making hot chocolate was fun! The chocolate tastes good and there are a lot of toppings to choose from. The kids we saw there seemed to enjoy the process and the instructor helped them with the chocolate so that everyone could enjoy and not stress helping the kids.

It was a cute experience. I enjoyed the milk chocolate but the dark chocolate tasted off. This is even when compared to the same purchased chocolate. It was very cool making hot chocolate to drink.

It was so much fun learning about cocoa and making our own chocolate bars and hot chocolate! Learning all the history of the how/when/why chocolate all began was a lot of fun as well! Definitely would recommend this experience!

So much fun. Staff was super polite and accommodating and the chocolate making experience was both fun and knowledgeable. I did not know there was so much to learn about chocolate making. Well done.

Susan_S, Dec 2025
I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate making experience. The chocolates I designed were delicious. One critique - please provide recipes or recommendations on how we could recreate these chocolates at home in our own kitchens.

A lot of fun!! I would definitely recommend this experience for those traveling to Vienna! We learned a lot and made delicious chocolate!

It was a fun experience with the family. However there were two downfalls to this tour. Firstly, we felt the size of the group was too big for the workshop space available. Secondly, your limited to two flavours of chocolate even though your given the opportunity to make three blocks

Had a wonderful time learning to make chocolate. The young lady did a excellent job in teaching us how to make chocolate. It was a wonderful experience.
Gwen_T, Dec 2025
It was not what I expected. It was a quick experience. All you do is stick the mold in the chocolate machine then decorate it. The hot chocolate was made with powder (milk and cocoa). Very different from other chocolate making classes. Not worth the price.
I think this experience is more for little kids.

Fun class! Plan on about 1.5 hours total. There's a chocolate museum downstairs but not a big deal, The teacher, A- something (sorry!) was fun, knowledgeable and flexible. We had a great group at our table. Suggest selecting the 2nd dark chocolate (nearest the milk chocolate as the darkest is extremely bitter). Very well organized in a cheerful setting. A couple kids were in the group - I'd suggest at least age 5 to participate. Thanks!

It may have been better if our guide had been more pleasant (he was getting it over with as quickly as he could, shouting rather than projecting, and cranky with the other kids) but this was not a chocolate making workshop. Basically we filled chocolate moulds with poor quality chocolate and made poor quality hot chocolate with powdered milk, stale chilli, sugar and cocoa. The 'chocolate museum' was a joke and smelled like a urinal.
Tim_G, Oct 2025
Was a lot of fun got to make three different chocolate bars with whatever toppings you wanted
Also got to make hot chocolate which was very good on a chilly day
Betsy_D, Sep 2025
It was fun but bare bones. Not sure how the chocolate bars will taste or travel. Just given a paper bag to put them in. No wrapper.
Dale_W, Sep 2025
The trip to the location was much easier than it seemed. Needn't emphasize that the building is pink and on the corner because the street numbers are wonky
Michelle_C, Sep 2025
We arrived 30 min late to an 1 hr 15 min chocolate “experience” as the address on our ticket was incorrect. Took 30 min to locate the museum. Then my kids and I were not allowed in with 40 min remaining. The staff was rude and stated that the chocolate class was already over. Seemed shorter than they marketed. They also didnt refund for these costly tickets. Wouldn’t suggest this place. Doesn’t seem worth it.

Very sweet people working at the chocolate shop and leading the chocolate making workshop. But it's not much of a museum. It's a small shop with a demonstration kitchen and a basement with a few small chocolate-related displays. Glad we did it, to support the nice people who run it, but it isn't necessarily a must-do.
Robin_C, Aug 2025
It was a really fun experience - made 3 chocolate bars where we could choose what kind of chocolate we wanted( 100% dark chocolate, 70% dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate which one was colored pink and the other white. We also made our own hot chocolate from original ingredients. The workers were super nice and appreciated the business.

The chocolate workshop at the Chocolate Museum Vienna was a fun little activity, but not particularly exciting. Essentially, you pour melted chocolate into a mold and decorate it with toppings of your choice. It’s enjoyable for what it is, but very basic—more of a quick hands-on craft than an in-depth or interactive workshop.
Afterward, you get access to the so-called "museum," which is really just a single room with a few displays and some information about chocolate. It’s not very immersive or educational, and definitely not what we expected from something labeled a museum.
That said, the instructor was very kind and enthusiastic, which made the experience more pleasant overall. We did enjoy ourselves, but it’s not something we’d do again.
If you're just looking to fill some time or want a simple, low-effort activity—especially with kids—it’s fine. But if you're after something cultural, educational, or challenging, this probably isn’t the best fit.
Christine_S, Aug 2025
But the toppings for the chocolate bars are pretty limited, you can't even do that interesting of combinations for the price. It was good for kids, because there were marshmallows, but my husband and I were wanting some salt, or spices plus maybe some freeze-dried fruit to use. The instructor was good, and walking through the making of the xocolatl was interesting, but overall it was just ok.

lots of fun. perfect break on our layover. staff were friendly. This ideal for people who actually want to do something not just sightsee. we has a mix of adult and small children
