Such a great day visiting the Dolomites! It’s a long day but it’s still relaxing since someone else is doing the driving. I messed up the meeting point but they were able to find us and even arranged a water taxi for us to get back to our hotel on the return. We had beautiful weather and our guide Max was great, navigating around traffic! Every location was out of a fairy tale!
Dolomite tour was absolutely amazing. Our organizer, Vera personalized our experience. She was extremely thoughtful and responsive. Our tour guide, Dani was fantastic as well. He catered the tour to meet our needs. He was personable, friendly, humorous and enjoyable to spend the day with. Everything they suggested was perfect. The views, restaurants, picture locations, and route was so well planned out we didn’t want our experience to end. The Dolomites tour is a must see/do when visiting Italy.

My husband and I did a private tour with Max as our driver. The first thing I want to mention for people considering this tour is Max does not talk a lot. It is a long day of driving. It's over 2 hours of driving to the first stop and around 3 hours back to Venice from the last stop. If you are people that like to yap with your guide and have the day completely narrated then I suggest you ask for a different driver from the tour operator after booking. Having said that - my husband and I were totally fine not having our ears talked off for the day. We do a lot of private tours. Sometimes you just want to relax/nap if it's a long tour - lol! The van was comfortable, especially considering it was just 2 of us. Unfortunately, the van experienced some mechanical issues - a hose blew. We pulled over on the side of the road at a decent scenic spot. We could hear Max on the phone with the hood of the van up. Shockingly - he was able to fix it using the cork of the prosecco bottle that they had for us! Thankfully the ordeal only took about 30 min. I can't imagine what would have happened if Max couldn't fix it!
All of the different lakes/sites were beautiful! We opted to take a chair lift up to the top of one of the mountains instead of sitting down for lunch. We were not really hungry at the time and wanted to see the views from a different perspective - we highly recommend the chair lift at Lago di Misurina! The Dolomites are not to be missed! This is the best way to tour the Dolomites from Venice for sure. It would be way too much driving for a tourist to do it in a day. It's also a great tour to do in the summer months because it is at least 10 degrees cooler than Venice!!

Max our driver was excellent. He was always available but not intrusive. He was helpful and super professional. Vera suggested we move up a day based on the weather forecast and we’re glad we were able to make the changes in our schedule to avoid bad weather. The vehicle is a very comfortable Mercedes van, there were surprise gifts that greeted us, and everything was nicely done. We were notified ahead of time of a road closure that would prevent us from seeing one of the alpine lakes on the itinerary. Disappointing, but good to know ahead of time. We highly recommend this tour.

The Dolomites are spectacular! There is so much to see that it is really worth the cost for a private tour. We were able to go at our own pace. The walkers could walk around the lakes and the non-walkers could enjoy the view while waiting or driving to meet them. Even before the day of our tour, the tour operator was very responsive. We had been warned that it would be quite cold, but we didn’t need all the layers we brought.

We did the private tour of Dolomites, lakes and quaint areas. It was just myself, husband and our driver. We traveled in a comfortable Mercedes van in which he had snacks and drinks loaded. Very thoughtful and kind. (We had brought a few of our own not knowing and thought this was a pleasant surprise.)
This was a highlight of our 17 day trip to Italy! We were picked up first thing in the morning. Spent the day driving from lake to beautiful lake. We saw mountain peaks so majestic it took our breath away. The small quaint towns, lunch with a lake view, small walks around lakes, learning the historic importance of the area and lakes from WWI….. all of it was wonderful and so fascinating. We had audio and a small booklet of information of each place as we traveled so that was very helpful and appreciated.
My husband and I travelled late in September.
The weather was just right! It was cool with some breaks of sun and some clouds with small drizzle here and there. (The van also had umbrellas if we needed them. Again, so thoughtful.)
I honestly and whole heartedly would recommend anyone I know to do this tour.
It was so grand, so majestic and stunning to see and experience. This is an experience that will not be forgotten! Our driver was so kind and we enjoyed our talks and learning about him as well. Very engaging.
All in all- a wonderful and most memorable day!

Unforgettable experience in the Dolomites!! Daniel, our driver, was fantastic. He was very considerate of my motion sickness and drove incredibly smoothly and efficiently. He let us explore to our heart’s content and adjusted the itinerary accordingly to our needs. He added extra details to the audio guide and was quite personable. Vera, the tour operator/coordinator, was patient and informative in helping me decide what tour option to choose (we skipped Cortina because of road conditions). One note: verify the tour itinerary in advance as the actual time spent at each spot isn’t clear from the description on Viator (ex. only 30mins at Cortina not 1hr or 4hrs). Overall, loved this tour - the highlight of our trip!!! Wish it was a multi-day tour.

Max and Vera were perfect! Vera facilitates the whole trip from afar and she makes sure you will have everything you need. Especially making sure that my husband and I would both have options for lunch in the area with our dietary restrictions. Vera checked on us before, during, and after to make sure we were happy. Max picked us up and dropped us off exactly in time. He is an excellent and safe driver and he knows where all the nice bathrooms are ;). He made sure to get us to all the stops, which was challenging due to road work and a recent landslide. Max knows the roads well and took good care of us. Also to note, we were able to plug in and charge both of our phones in the van. I brought a USB and a USB-C charger and the van could accommodate both. Our group decided to tailor the experience to have some more time at Lago di Braies so that we could get some more time in hiking at that location. Would love to come back again, but a very cool experience. Our group is originally from a mountainous area (Canadian Rockies), the Dolomites gave a unique experience and has become a favorite place of the world to experience. Amazing full day tour of the Dolomites with stops in several beautiful locations, one that was better after the other. We had a great driver who would put on an audio tape to prepare us for each location before we got there. I would highly recommend this tour as a day trip from Venice.

We were picked up AT our hotel which was a real treat and made for an easy start to our day! Once inside the van, we were greeted with some snacks and a bottle of Prosecco (which we didn't drink, but truly appreciated the gesture) to help set the tone for the day. Once in the van, we were given some reading materials to help prepare us for the day, which was long to be honest, but well worth it to see the fabulous sites! We were a little concerned that we would be listening to the tour through cheesy headsets like you get at museum tours, but were pleasantly surprised when the driver would start various audio segments through the sound system in the van just before we arrived at the various stops. Our driver didn't talk much unless we had a question instead allowing us to talk with each other between the stops. As for the Dolomites - pictures simply can't replace being there!!!! In January, most of the lakes we saw were frozen, but even then, the beauty was unbelievable. At each stop, we were able to wander and take in the beauty on our own and our driver would have the van waiting - AND WARM - for when we returned. Even the lunch stop was wonderful with great food and scenery! After our last stop, we were taken back to our hotel where we could simply get out of the van and walk into our "home" for the night! It was truly a memorable tour and one worth taking. The price is high, but you get a lot for the money and we felt it was worth the price!!

The single best day trip our family has ever had with a private driver - scenery is spectacular and unlike other mountain ranges we have visited. Charming, skilled driver, and excellent itinerary!
One note of caution…van had three forward and three back facing seats. Six would have been tight, and a challenge if anyone prone to car sickness. Four is a perfect number for time in the car.

Our trip to the Dolomites was absolutely incredible, and there were a few places that really stood out to us. One of the highlights was **Lago di Misurina**, a serene and picturesque spot where we took some time to relax ,walk and enjoy a delicious, warming soup perfect for the crisp mountain air. Another unforgettable stop was **Lago di Braies**. The lake itself was absolutely stunning, surrounded by towering peaks and lush greenery. We also had the pleasure of dining at **Emma's Bistro**, where we treated ourselves to a delicious sweet dessert. The atmosphere there was charming, and it added to the overall magic of the place. We also spent some time in the beautiful town of **Cortina d'Ampezzo**. The town itself is charming, with stunning alpine views, boutique shops, and cozy cafes—definitely a place you could easily get lost in for hours.Our journey was made even more special by our amazing driver, **Sebastian**. He was not only a skilled driver, but also a wonderful guide, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the area. He truly made the trip feel even more personal. We also had the chance to enjoy the scenic drive in a comfortable van, where we were treated to breathtaking views of the snow-covered mountains and the golden sunshine—a perfect contrast. First off- this was totally worth the money. You can’t see all we did of the Dolomites without a driver. We had Daniel and he was absolutely amazing. We had great conversation, sat and had a quick espresso right before our first stop, and he was able to give us his opinion on a lot of the stops in addition to the already interesting audio guide you list to between stops.
Now to get into the actual visits- take your time at Lake Auronzo. I wish we stayed longer (we went back to the van a little early after pictures because it was raining). The blue water was mindblowingly beautiful. We had 30 minutes, but spent about 15ish.
Next we saw Lake Misurina. We opted to do the lunch and it was excellent. Definitely get the Rosso dolomiti birra because it’s so hard to find and really tasty. The food is more German style and was great. Gnocchi is 10/10. After that, we walked around the entire lake which was about 1.6 miles around. Not sure how long we were actually at this destination, but Daniel assured us to just take our time and enjoy it. There was no rush at all.
Next we opted to drive through Lake Dobiacco, and not stop. Instead we actually visited a different spot (I’ll share in a minute in chronological order). This lake seemed very nice too, a lot of beautiful swans were out enjoying the lake, but unfortunately our day was foggy and rainy.
We then stopped at Lake Braies. This was definitely the most touristy spot and the most people we ran into. You do not get reception here so Daniel will tell you a specific time to be back in the meeting spot since he can’t park there. We had just shy of an hour and a half and it was more than enough time, since the kayaks were closed. There’s a cafe shop to the right of the lake that is a little pricey but great tiramisu. Closer to the entrance there’s a bar where we shared a drink and chips.
After, we went to the cemetery of WW1. It’s really upkept and beautiful but sad. It’s a great reminder of what we have today, since the dolomites were so significant in this time period. We were probably here around 10 minutes or so.
Lastly we went to the town of cortina. I wish we had more time here, we had only 30 minutes but we didn’t miss anything due to the time restriction, it was because a lot of the places were closed I’m sure due to the weather. There’s a sports cafe not too far from the drop off point that’s tiny but we hung out for cover and if you are into hockey they have a cool shrine of stuff to look at.
All in all, my husband and I were grateful for this excursion. We were surprised with a bottle of champagne and cookies upon arrival and it was only uphill from there. Book it!! Money is temporary but memories last!

Love the Dolomite’s. We were late getting back from the first stop so we had to cut out one of the stops the last stop That was our fault . The guide suggested we eliminate one of the stops so at the last stop where the Olympics are going to be we would have more time but we really didn’t. We only had 30 minutes so I did feel a little rush.

Due to the extended time spent at the first lake—1 hour and 40 minutes instead of the planned 30—it affected the flow of the rest of the day. Our priority is always to be flexible and ensure that you have ample time to appreciate the beauty of nature at your own pace, but when the schedule shifts by over an hour, it does become a bit challenging to organize everything smoothly.
The lake we skipped, which we agreed upon together, was only a 15-minute stop. Unfortunately, this didn’t significantly help in avoiding the schedule at the last stop from being extended too much or impact the overall timing of the day, especially with such a full itinerary that includes so many beautiful places to visit in just one day. We always aim to be flexible and are happy to extend the itinerary a bit to ensure our guests have the best possible experience.
That said, we sincerely hope that the breathtaking views and moments you experienced in the Dolomites were memorable for you, despite the schedule changes. We would love to welcome you back for another adventure and ensure your next journey with us is even more enjoyable.

It is hard to describe a trip like this! The views on the drive alone are worth the trip, the time and the money. Our driver was not a tour guide, he was simply our driver, he played an audio guide in the car as we approached each location. We went to five of the most STUNNING lakes I have ever laid eyes on. As an extra treat for these Floridians, one location had experienced their first snowfall of the season the night before and it was a winter wonderland! Like we had stepped into Narnia. They will offer to make a reservation at a restaurant at that location...DO IT. It was the best meal we had in Europe, in a quaint chalet restaurant overlooking the view. At each spot you get about 30-60 minutes depending on the location. It won't feel like enough, but there's no way to cover that much of the Dolomites in a day unless it is small stops like this. One of the best parts of this tour was working with Move On Travel. They communicated via WhatsApp and the communication began as soon as we booked. They literally held your hand the whole time, even being available in real time as we traveled the tour. I could ask them to tell the driver (who would wait in the van while you toured each spot on your own), if we could have another 15 minutes, and they would let him know. When we got in the van to start the tour, it was clean and they had wine and cookies as little gifs for us. It was a day we will never forget.
