What To Expect
The renowned performers of Musica a Palazzo carry on the historic tradition of traveling opera with unique, intimate performances in the luxurious surroundings of Venice’s Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto. The elegant salons of this 15th-century palace have been restored to their original splendor and provide a historic backdrop for scenes from Italian operatic classics. Choose from adapted versions of "The Barber of Seville," "La Traviata," or "Rigoletto".
On the date of the performance, make your way to the historic palazzo in central Venice, which overlooks the Grand Canal. Upon arrival, you have the option to purchase a libretto to read a translation of the words in your selected opera. Then, take your seat among the small audience and admire the ornate surroundings and period furnishings bathed in candlelight. When the show begins, you are immersed in the sights and sounds of arias, duets, and live accompaniment as the performers enact scenes near you.
Instead of a traditional set change, get up and move to a different salon along with the ensemble with each new scene or act. This lends an interactive element to the show and allows you to explore several different salons. Toast your evening out with a glass of prosecco, juice, or soda during an intermission.

It was a really warm evening when I went and the seating is quite intimate, do ensure you bring water
I don't want to say too much and give away how wonderful this is, but even if you don't think you like opera, you will love this show! It's funny and completely entertaining! Beautiful surroundings. Chairs are a bit less desirable, but soon you'll be up walking around and will forget about that.
Intimate, exceptional and worth every penny. Such a treat. So glad that I did it. Although I couldn’t find the building so I missed the first part. Plan your route in plenty of time.
This a very unique and very close up way to experience a live opera performance. It takes place inside a large (abandoned hotel ?). The 3 acts move to different rooms allowing guests to wander to each room. Although the seats weren’t so comfortable, it was still an enjoyable experience
Viator prefilled the wrong address into my calendar. We walked 15 minutes in the wrong diction toward Musica a Palazzo
Castello 5601, Venice, IT, 30122
THIS IS THE WRONG ADDRESS!!!
By the time we corrected, we arrived 10 minutes late and missed the first act.
I’m not sure what this address is, maybe the office. But we are hot and late and annoyed. Uhg
Check that you are headed to the right address. And Viator please fix this issue.
We love this show!! Very nice setting being in the room and the performers are next to you ! This a must see show!
We had a great time. It was our first Opera and really enjoyed it! We do not recommend you bring small children. There was a child around the age of 5 that was completely restless and ruined the experience for others. We didn’t mind him, but felt terrible for his mom. The other patrons were not very kind to her and it made my husband and I feel so bad.
This was the 1st time my wife and I had gone any type Opera play or show and it was amazing! I would highly recommend this tour!
Wonderful event! The actors / musicians performed in separate rooms where they performed right in front of the audience making it seem as though we were part of the act. A very engaging and unique experience! A Venice Opera ! Excellent performance!! Thank you viator for making this event possible!
Wonderful production! Fabulously funny with lots of audience involvement. And the musicians were outstanding!
Fantastic palace, built in 1500, privately owned on the Grand Canal. My grandson(17) loved his first opera here.
It was nice to experience an opera in Venice. We were just so tired and it was towards the end of the evening so did not get to appreciate it and follow it. Definitely buy the program so you can follow it. Wish it was a bit earlier in the evening
A lovely experience! The singers were wonderful! Moving from room to room was so exciting!! The house was just beautiful!! Having an intermission with a drink was great!!! This was a night to remember!!
We absolutely loved the walking opera experience. It was beautifully organized, engaging, and truly unique. The combination of music, storytelling, and the different locations created a magical atmosphere. Thank you for such a memorable and inspiring experience!
An absolutely unforgettable performance of La Traviata by the Traveling Opera of Venice at Musica a Palazzo.
I loved everything about the evening—the beautiful interior of the palazzo, the intimate atmosphere, and the extraordinary voices of the singers. The unique setting made the experience feel personal and immersive, allowing the audience to connect deeply with the music and the story.
Everyone involved in the production contributed to creating a true work of art. The performers, musicians, and staff demonstrated remarkable talent, passion, and professionalism. Their dedication transformed the evening into something truly special and memorable.
If you are visiting Venice and love opera, this is an experience not to be missed. A perfect blend of music, history, emotion, and artistry. Highly recommended!
Beautiful concert! Get there a bit early for the best seats but you'll be able to hear the music anywhere. The performance was outstanding, truly talented musicians. Highly recommend!
A breath taking experience, seeing the performance upclose with no microphones made it so intimate. I went with my girlfriend for her birthday and s
We loved every second!
This was such a cool experience in a beautiful old palazzo. The performers were truly incredible and it was such a unique experience for our first night in Venice. Definitely recommend
It was a wonderful show. It was a little warm in the venue so be prepared for that. It was totally worth it!
A really fun and intimate experience! We loved seeing each act in different rooms. Get there early to get closer seats. But if you don’t you can always try to be first to enter the rooms for the subsequent acts. We thoroughly enjoyed this immersive experience!
Beautiful Palazzo as a setting. Excellent acting and singing. A truly wonderful performance and we'll worth the price.
This was a wonderful experience, to watch and listen to an opera in a lovely setting and to be so close to the performers. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it!
Absolutely fantastic experience. The performance was amazing both musicians and performers.
We didn’t find it difficult to locate however what I would say is the chairs were a little uncomfortable and it wasn’t always easy to see depending on where you sit. Not sure what they can do about that though. I would still recommend it as a must do experience in Venice.
Hands down, one of the best performances I have ever been to. The show out preformed my expectations.
Opera in a villa! The performers standing next to you, interacting with the audience, in a historic villa setting. It doesn't get better! NOTE: do follow the written directions on your tickets; some mapping apps get you close, but the performance entrance can be a challenge without the directions.
Absolutely amazing. Such an immersive experience. The performers were very talented. I highly recommend.
It was definitely a different experience for me to go from room to room, watching an opera. The singers were very good and there was some interaction with the audience. During the intermission, champagne was served and we could take a peak at the beautiful outside view from the balcony.
Some people have left reviews that mention the lack of comfort, and I agree with that. The chairs were uncomfortable and some seats don’t allow you to have a good view of the artists.
It was magical! We had never been to an opera before and to have our first experience be in such a small, gorgeous venue where you could be so close to the performers and hear the beautiful voices and music was an unbelievable experience. I will say, the theater is a bit hard to
find even with Google Maps but the locals were so nice to assist us, Highly recommend!
Way better than an opera house, you are really close to the singers, and they are very good, the venue is perfect
If you are a fan of Opera, or musicals, you will love this performance. We saw The Barber of Seville and the performers captured all the fun and madcap energy of Opera Buffa. The setting, with only 60 or so in the audience, was intimate, the staging was charming, moving from room to room in a historic Palazzo, and the performers were first rate. I highly recommend!
