Meet your guide at Campo San Bartolomeo to kick off this walking tour, beginning with a stroll through the Rialto Market, filled with fresh vegetable produce and seafood. After wandering the around the stalls, take a seat at a nearby osteria for a glass of wine and sampling of cicchetti (Venetian tapas).
Continue to the San Polo neighborhood, and admire the ornate, 16th-century Palazzo dei Camerlenghi on the banks of the Grand Canal. Despite its beautiful exterior, the palace was once greatly feared by small-time criminals during its days as a tax evaders’ prison.
Your tour will conclude by the Rialto Bridge.

This ended up being a private tour as our group of 4 were the only ones. The guide was really informative and entertaining. We loved the market place. The glass of wine and selection of 2 nibbles each at the end was a nice finish to tour.

My wife and I loved this tour! It ended up being just the two of us and our tour guide Georgia. You could tell she loves what she does and loves Venice and wants to share it with others. She took us to places we never would have found by ourselves.

The walkabout was interesting but felt more fun could have been had with the Cicchetti and wine. Only one stop for this as opposed to what seemed should have been multiple stops.

With only 3 days in Venice and being seasoned travellers, we opted for something a little less touristy. Very difficult in a city that is virtually wall to wall tourists. Had a very good fortune to meet Cristina at exactly the spot indicated on the instruction. This day were a smaller group only 6 guests, so Cristina got to know us on a first name basis making us feel we were on a private tour. Over the next 4 hours our guide demystified and painted a fascinating picture of Venice, it's people, it's history, and it's status as a city that's a living museum. Highly recommend this tour and more importantly Cristina who really made this special.

Would have been great I am sure but unfortunately we missed this tour and I couldn't write a review without giving a rating. We allowed 45 minutes to make the 20 minute walk to the meeting point but Google Maps and I became very confused. I led us in a wide circle that ended no where near the starting point. When I rang the tour company to say we wouldn't make it, they very kindly tried to arrange a meeting point with the guide on the tour, but this was too hard to coordinate. I very much appreciate them trying though.
I strongly suggest purchasing a 3 paper map of Venice rather than relying on Google Maps if you need to be at a particular place and time as the narrow walkways and high buildings apparently interfere with the Google Maps signal.

Thoroughly recommend this tour on your first day in Venice! Please note make an early start to your meeting point because even though we allowed a couple of hours we still only had half an hour to spare before the tour commenced.
Christina was a fabulous tour guide with a wealth of knowledge!

Exceptional guide and experience. We had a fabulous time on this walking tour. Guide was so engaging, fun and knowledgable. Highly recommend this tour. We did it our first day which was such a great start to our memorable visit to Venice. Fun to meet and spend time with the others on the tour. The time to stop and enjoy the wine and appetizers with the group was such a nice added feature.

This tour was quite good. The guide I think her name was Barbara was very informative and pointed out interesting details that we would not have learned on our own. The Rialto market was interesting, and the wine and snack stop at the end was a lovely way to end the tour. The tour group all sat around a large round wooden table and had time to get to know one another before leaving on our own time. The only thing I would add is perhaps a map of where we had been so we could go back and explore the locations a bit more.

Great way to see the real Venice. Felt like you were looking at Venice back 100s of years ago. Guide was educational, interesting historical information. food and Wine were just the right touch. The individual receivers were great in keeping us informed by the guide. Highly recommended. This was one of 3 tours by Viator.. All excellent.

Great tour. Small group as promised 10 in our group with a very friendly and charming tour guide. The whole thing didn't feel rushed and we enjoyed quieter parts of the city along with a Gondola crossing and interesting insights into Venician life. Finished off at a bar to enjoy a glass of wine and some Venician tapas.

Amazing way to see Venice. This was a very small tour of 7 people and the tour guide was so nice and very informative. We took the unbeaten hidden paths and saw some great ways to avoid the mega crowds of venice which was nice because the crowds can be hectic during high season. The weather affected the end of the tour but we finished at a nice wine bar to hide from the rain. I wish we would have stayed a little bit longer at the Rialto Market but you can request it once you get there. Our tour was fantastic and highly recommended.

interesting tour...a bit short in duration. Gondola ride was too short. You travel across the grand canal for a total of 2 minutes with 12 other passengers. Tour guide was knowledgeable but didn't seem very passionate about the tour. Food stop was just OK. Would not likely recommend this tour to friends.

My daughter and I took this tour and found it incredibly worthwhile. There were just a total of 5 of us on this tour. Barbara was our tour guide unfortunately I don't remember her last name She was fun, lively and very knowledgeable and informative. We started out by exploring the Rialto market area but then also explored areas that were off the beaten path from the typical touristy spots. Barbara had funny and informative stories to tell along the way. Our tour ended at the Friar Church, definitely one of the highlights of the tour!! We were so glad we had a tour guide with us while we explored the Friar Church. In total I would highly recommend this tour.

Started off with promise, however, our guide seemed to be on auto or perhaps it's been a long season.
Appreciated the description of the area close to Rialto Markets and the adjacent streets. The title, however, led us to think we would be learning and visiting somewhere unique. We really were just walking familiar streets and piazza's. Other than the mention of the ladies we didn't hear or discover any other noted or known residents. Also the title indicated this was a half day tour, after 1.5 hours we were done unless you wanted to visit the Basilica dei Frari.....

A really interesting 2 hour tour. The guide who took us on the tour was excellent. Her stories and information were told with clear and genuine enthusiasm.
Experienced a side of Venice I would not have known about without this trip. Only improvement the young lady who represented the tour company and was supposed to meet us, could have been a little more welcoming.
