Overview
Visit two of the best places in Puerto Rico today, Luquillo beach and the El Yunque rainforest. You’ll be walking through a forest of rare plants, past natural rivers, and spotting local animals with your guide. If there is time, you can take a dip in a natural pool with a waterslide. Afterwards, you’ll be driven to Lauquillo beach, where you can swim, sunbathe, and relax for a while. Note: not recommended for those with walking difficulties.

We pick up from all the hotels in San Juan and Airb&b’s. We will provide the nearest pick-up locations. Buses stop at specific hotels depending on the area. For people staying in the Old San Juan area, the pick-up location is Plaza Colon. Keep in mind pick-up times are approximate. Tour buses begin pick-up’s at 10:00 am. Depending on your location, time will be later. The driver will be calling you by your name, have your ID ready to board the bus. It is currently high season, therefore, traffic in the mornings is very busy, be patient and enjoy a coffee while you wait!

- A proper safety briefing will be given to participate in the water slide activity. It is imperative all guests cooperate and follow all given instructions to avoid injury or a dangerous situation. Please note this is a rainforest with a very rocky terrain. This is an extreme adventure.
- Maximum weight to participate in the waterslide is 240lbs. All other participants may complete the activity at their own risk.

This trip was amazing!! Shoutout to our tour guide Vincent or Vinnie - he really made the experience. The waterfall waterslide was sooo fun and swimming in the water was so refreshing and beautiful. The beach was awesome and had a ton of vendors from which we could buy food and drinks and then we had time to relax on the beach too. Overall amazing experience I would highly recommend to anyone!

You will need water shoes to navigate the waterfalls. Towel and bathing suit We had fun! Our tour guide Jose was very attentive and really helped us throughout the trip; especially at the waterfalls. The beach was nice and lots of bars and restaurants .

Tour was very fun. Ride to the rainforest took about 45 min to an hour. Once we were there, it was a short but a bit challenging hike down to the natural water slides and pool. This area was cool but a bit touristy with all the other groups. After, we spent about 2 and a half hours at a little beach town which had different options to get food and drinks. Our guide Jose was nice and helpful throughout the tour

I really enjoyed this, but let's be clear -- this is not a tour of the Rainforest -- you go down a very steep, muddy path so that the organization can avoid paying the park entrance fee -- and it is a bit treacherous. Totally worth it go down the waterfall slide, though! The guide was very friendly, and very helpful in making sure no one got hurt. After the waterfall, you go to a pool area, which requires climbing over rocks. This is not an activity for people who are uncomfortable doing this sort of thing. The beach after was very nice - lots of lunch options - the ocean is warm and gorgeous. If you want to actually hike in the rainforest, you will probably have to hire a private guide, FYI.

The El Yunque Rainforest was amazing and was our second time visiting. The weather was perfect and our group was very supportive. Our tour guide Jose Baez was very rude and unsupportive. He did not wait for the entire group to get through the unsafe path down into the forest. He left half of us to fend for ourselves. He was not considerate enough to take the safer path that would accommodate all parties in our group. He even started yelling at some of us because we did appreciate it guidance.

This trip is not what is advertised
There is no experience of a rain forest or seeing wildlife . False advertising
It is being taken down a trial to a water hole
This trail ( it’s like something from the black market) is through rock, muck, tree roots and a lot of litter . I saw two used syringes with needles attached and a machete . Yes I’m being totally serious !!!!. Our guide didn't get off to. A Good start as when he pick us up at our hotel he left the van running and it ran on a few meters .
The mini bus was awful. Most of the seat belts didn’t work.
Yes Jose gave us the history of Puerto Rico .. very interesting but he failed to show any understanding of another guest who was really struggling with the climb and the awful slippiness from the muck . She fell on a number of occasions and he was extremely sharp with her . Lacking patience
He refused to let any of us help her even though she was breathless with her asthma. It was totally humiliating for her .
The beach which was sold as a beautiful beach was average. Quite dirty and restaurants were totally over priced
I do not recommend this trip at all

Unfortunately, litter at the rainforest and beach can sometimes be a challenge. We do our best to maintain these beautiful areas, but some visitors are not always mindful of taking everything they bring back with them. We strongly advocate for “leave no trace” principles to preserve the natural beauty for everyone.
To clarify, Puerto Rico’s wildlife is not exotic in the way some might expect. You may spot creatures like garden snakes, lizards, and beautiful birds, but no large or exotic animals. Descriptions mentioning “wildlife” are often created by Viator as part of their tour promotions, which can sometimes lead to confusion. We appreciate your understanding and will work on clarifying expectations moving forward.
Additionally, the use of machetes in the rainforest is standard practice for clearing trails and ensuring a safe path for all visitors—it’s not unusual to see them during hikes in this environment.
Your feedback about the guide’s behavior, trail conditions, and overall experience is being taken very seriously. We sincerely apologize for any discomfort or frustration caused, and we will work diligently to address these concerns and improve for future guests.

Will recomend the place not the tour as we where picked up late(not a problem)but booked spanish speaker guide,after we and another group mention this a few times and considering everybody on the bus spoke spanish he still refuse to change.

Absolutely amazing time. José, our guide, was the best. He made sure everyone was safe and having a good time. We had so much fun! José was very informative and attentive. The rainforest was beautiful and serene, and the beach was nice and warm. 10/10 would do it again!

They sell this as a "hike in the rainforest". But the hike is literally 3 minutes. It's just to get to the location where you can do waterslides and swimming and that's it. You're not really seeing El Yunque. And then they drop you at Luquillo beach where apparently you need to "get drunk" and enjoy. But the beach is polluted and everything is super expensive.
This tour was definitely a waste of money. If you want to see the rainforest or beaches around the island, renting a car and going yourself is the better option.

Jose was an exceptional host, accommodating everyone in our diverse group, regardless of age. Despite the size of our group, he ensured that each person felt included and engaged, making the experience enjoyable for all. His ability to cater to different interests and keep the atmosphere lively and fun truly stood out, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. The hike was not difficult at all, and the water was nice and cool.
For a more detailed schedule
1. we were picked up and had about a 35-40 minute drive to the water slide
2. we were at the water slide for about 35 minutes and could slide as much as we wanted,
3. we did a mini hike to the water pool and stayed there for above an hour
4. we were then driven to Luquillo and stayed for about 2 hours.
5. we had drinks, went to the beach and more ( BRING CASH for this place, most places only took cash)
6. we started at 10:30 and were back at 4pm

If you are not very adventurous or hate mud this is not for you. There is hiking, walking on steep rocks, very slippery places, narrow, stepping over/under fallen trees, uphill/downhill, very slippery slopes to do the water slides. My guide did a great job of talking us through it and keeping us safe but it was not what I expected after doing similar hiking tours in other places. Overall we still had a great time. You will get a full body workout and feel like a true rainforest conquerer once you make it out😂 I really enjoyed Luquillo Beach. The food options are amazing. We chose to eat at Boscas Del Mar. 10/10 drinks, food (Yellow Tail Snapper was amazing), and the coconut arepitas were the best finish.

The transportation provided to the rainforest was subpar. It smelled like a HS football players locker room. The smell came from the life vest used by prior guest, so not sanitized. Based on pictures saw online of the rain forest, it appears we got the "back door" entry into the rain forest.
The next part of the excursion was the beach, but we only had 90 minutes to eat and enjoy the beach before pick up. After eating we quickly rushed to enjoy some of the beach. It's a nice beach but there were no amenities such as umbrellas or cabana's available. We just found a spot on the sand and dropped our personal belongs. We were instructed by the guide not to bring towels because the PR sun would dry us.
The tour guide was friendly and shared PR history along the ride but I wouldn't do it again or recommend it to anyone.

The water slide was a little rough but so much fun. Our guide made sure everyone was safe the entire time. He had lots of information about the island and places to go eat or hang out. The rainforest was beautiful and since we didn’t have a car with us we would not have been able to go without this tour.

This tour honestly probably could have been a 5/5 with a better guide. Our guide Jose lacked patience and an awareness of the needs of the group. We confirmed the night before the time that we needed to be ready for pick up and he called us 45 min before pick up to let us know that the time had changed to an earlier time. Luckily we were able to make it on time but had we been on a different part of the island we would not have been able to make it. He also let us know not to bring a towel or a change or clothes because the "Puerto Rican sun would dry us". Obviously he cannot control the weather but it ended up pouring and we were cold and wet the hour drive back to our air bnb. While in the rainforest he did not check to ensure that members of the group were all together nor did he check to see if anyone needed assistance. He lost patience when people would ask clarifying questions since the information he was giving us was vague and lacked detail. He also wouldn't let people walk 50feet to the bus to grab their water bottle and it was honestly a miserable experience all around.

Comfortable clothing such as a t-shirt and shorts (NO Jeans)
Closed shoes (No sandals or crocs)
Extra clothing
A towel per person
Swimsuit underneath
Snacks, so your hands are always free
Rain jacket or poncho
Sunblock and sunglasses
Additionally, since you were the first pickup for the 10:00 am tour, José called you at 9:45 am to see if you were ready to be picked up a bit earlier. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and understand how frustrating it can be to adjust your schedule on short notice.
We understand how challenging it must have been to deal with these changes and the other challenges during the tour. It’s disappointing to hear that José didn’t provide the level of care and attention that we strive to offer. Your feedback regarding communication, patience, and handling the weather situation is invaluable, and we will address these concerns directly to ensure that future guests have a better experience.

Our tour guide was Jose. He was friendly, fun, attentive and upbeat. He made it a priority to learn everyone on our tour's name and checked on us all throughout the tour. I was a bit apprehensive about going on the tour as I'm traveling with my two daughters, my youngest is seven but it was the perfect adventure and so much fun! Our tour driver Vincent was amazing, doing a great job to make everybody feeling god and safe.
The trip is really well composed if you want to go to el Yunque to have a look at the beautiful trees, and a nice dip in the refreshing water in the rainforest.
The beach was nice, the water was perfect and very kid friendly.
We definately recommend this trip to other tourist.

This was wonderful for all my children and grandchildren! Our guide, Jose, was fantastic. He was very watchful for everyone on his tour. I needed a little help climbing the rocks to get to the water and he was so patient! What memories we made! Our grandchildren had such a fun time!

Vincent was a great guide. He was very communicative and made the most of our time together. It was such a great day together. Tips to others: consider scaling the climb in socks or bare feet. The mossy rocks are still slippery even with water shoes.

Had a really great time, Vincent was an excellent tour guide, water was cold and refreshing, scenery was beautiful. This tour is an exercise in agility, the rocks were slippery and it rained in the rainforest, who would've thought lol, and so the ground was muddy and slick. Don't wear shoes you're attached to. The second half, the beach left much to be desired, tons of coral to navigate but water was calm and food stands had amazing and delicious choices. Great time overall

This tour advertises as a trip to the El Yunque National Forest and it did not travel into National Forest land once. The tour only takes you to the Las Pailas water slide area on the Rio Pitahaya. The access to Las Pailas is only accessible via private property. Never do you actually visit or travel into the El Yunque National Forest. The company’s advertisement of a tour of the El Yunque National Forest is not true and I feel like I paid for something I did not receive. Not only was the advertising misleading, but the Las Pailas water slide area was filled to the brim with people and garbage (see photos). I really felt left down that I purchased this tour and did not receive what I purchased.

We would like to clarify that Las Pailas is indeed part of El Yunque National Forest. El Yunque encompasses different entrances, rivers, waterfalls, and trails spread across various towns in Puerto Rico. Additionally, it's important to note that people still live within the National Rainforest, as there are native residents who have been there since before the USDA took over the land.
We understand your concern about the Las Pailas water slide area being crowded and having garbage. Unfortunately, the high season brings many visitors, and not all are mindful of keeping the area clean. As residents, we do our best to maintain cleanliness, but we rely on visitors to help by not littering.
We strive to provide accurate information in our tour descriptions and apologize if there was any misunderstanding. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our communication and services.

Where do i start!!!! From the start he’s an amazing tour guide. He calls me before he’s on his way to pick us up to make sure we know what’s going on, great communication. He picks us up just on time and as soon as we go in it’s just good energy!!!! He told us stories and history all the way to the rainforest which my group LOVED. He for sure appreciates and loves what he does, we are very lucky to have experienced this with a good tour guide! He let us enjoy the rainforest, and then he took us to Luquillo Beach which was amazing as well. Then took us home!!

Vincent was an extraordinary guide. He gave us history of PR, told us when to put on sunscreen, helped each person safely cross slick areaa. He got the group to interact & even sing together! 10 stars! Would've been good to know where to park for pickup.
