The old van was noisy and the ride was very bumpy.. Rainforest was muddy - bring appropriate shoes. Our tour guide was sweet but so soft spoken we couldn’t hear her. The experience and stops were underwhelming. There was silence on our ride back to the hotel/ tour guide did not speak.

Local guide with extensive knowledge of area and park. He pointed out some little critters like snails and frogs plus interesting plants and trees. Not a strenuous hike if you are in reasonable shape (I need to get to the gym, ha ha). Of course we had a downpour (this is common) so plan accordingly. Weather was mild so I didn’t mind. We took a short dip in the water near the end. Kind of a strange spot but I was happy to refresh before my flight home. While lunch was not included, we stopped at a hut on the way back to town and sampled just about all the meats, rice and a deep fried tasty thing. Pretty reasonable! Small snafu with the booking but it all worked out (it was an error on Viators side which I alerted the company to.)

Jose Enrique was knowledgeable and engaging. The paths are paved and the hikes are short, so most people will have no problem.

Best way to see El Yunque and not have to drive yourself. They can pick you up from 9 different hotels around San Juan. We get a bit of history of Puerto Rico and El Yunque. The guide was informative about the local wild life and plant life within the rainforest. The hike was very short and the trail was packed down and easy to traverse. The swimming afterwards was definitely worth it. The water is a little cold but you get used to it very quickly. Definitely bring water shoes and a towel. The ride to and from was good but a bit bumpy (sounds normal for Puerto Rico.)

I was short on time since I was visiting for the weekend for the BB concert. I was looking for an experience at El Yunque right before the concert later on in the day and boy did I get an amazing experience! Diana was a 20/10! El Yunque was a 20/10. Deff want to go back on my next trip and do a longer excursion. It rained, it poured, sun was out, it was humid, not too hot (thanks to the refreshing rain), it was foggy, clear. I lived, I learned, and experienced El Yunque. Very organized & not to mention very informative!

Luis was great. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great tour. Afterwards he sent a list of restaurants and recommendations. Highly recommended!

Diane is was amazing! Book her as your tour guide. She was very informative. We did the 4 hour tour. Can't wait to book again.

This tour packed all the high points of the rain forest into an afternoon. For someone wanting an extensive hike, you should do an all day tour.
We swam, went up the lookout tower, saw the waterfall, and did a small hike where our guide Diane showed us different plants and creatures.
Diane was top notch, laid back and had such a beautiful personality. She was so knowledgeable about everything! Loved it.

This was a great experience! Very relaxed and we got to see different parts of the rainforest. Our guide was very informative!

It was really nice because we got to do a very short hike so we could actually see Flora and Fana, but it wasn’t so exhausting that children couldn’t do it. We saw a hummingbird in a nest and that was really nice at our tour guide was very knowledgeable

It was a fun way to see some of the rainforest in PR. Diana was very informative and attentive. Water shoes would be a good idea for the swim in the river. I recommend the trip.

We had a wonderful guide. She was very informative and we learned a great deal about the history of the island. We didn’t want anything too strenuous but wanted to experience a bit of the rain forest. We were glad we had hiking shoes because the trail was a bit slippery in spots. The longest walk we did in the forest was 1/2 a mile. We didn’t really need swimsuits. We were fine just wading in the river. Water shoes would have been nice because the shore and river are rocky. We had a nice stop for lunch at a roadside food stand. For anyone who doesn’t want the water slide tours etc, this is a great alternative.

We never made it to the rainforest because of rain. I requested a refund but didn't get one. The guide said to request a refund.

It was incredible! Wild life everywhere and the tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area and very nice and polite.

Diana was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming! She brought us to some great views and seemed to know exactly where to find interesting plants. She also knew about Puerto Rican history, and gave us recommendations for exploring more. I would recommend this trip to all ages and ability levels.

Loved this excursion. Very fair priced and great guide. Note that the swimming is optional and don't wear an Apple watch if you go swimming. We had someone lose theirs from the jump and it's common there. Trail was a bit muddy so wear appropriate shoes.

Luis our tour guide was very informative, patient, kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. Luis showed us things that we would have never seen on our own. I would say that he made the whole trip worth while. I would recommend this place with a tourist guide. If you are lucky enough, I hope you get Luis.

Diana was an excellent tour guide! She was right on time for pickup from my hotel and texted me in the morning and a few minutes before arriving. I signed up last minute the night before and it was a smooth experience with pickup. She was very caring and she made sure that everyone was doing OK at all times. She was very knowledgeable about the rainforest and the history and culture of Puerto Rico. I would recommend this tour for anyone who is looking for a low impact walk-through the rainforest. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to visit the river due to flooding, but it was an enjoyable experience. There’s no crazy hiking or getting muddy. No anxiety at all and the tour was for all ages. You just need to be able to walk on a paved trail. We stayed clean and dry. I would recommend that you bring a rain jacket or a poncho. Normal sneakers for walking or hiking are perfect.

Great guide and tour!! We loved it all!! We would have loved to swim in the river but the officials didn’t allow us.
Emelda_L, Jul 2024
We had an awesome tour guide. Before we were picked up Shalimar our tour guide texted to give us a description of the van and a time line as to when we would be picked up. She told us the history of Puerto Rico while we were driving to the rain forest. She assisted us with taking pictures as we swam in the river as well as pictures from the tower. I would highly recommend her to other customers.

Luis did an amazing job showing us different parts of the forest, animals, plant life, and relaxing in the river. It was great! I would recommend it to anyone :)

Great respite away from town to see the only rainforest in the Americas. Our guide, Juan, was very lively & entertaining & it was nice to tour with a smaller group. Highly recommended!
Edward_S, Jan 2024
The rainforest tour was a lot of fun. We had a pretty fun group and our tour guides were fun as well. Juan and Luis were down to earth and funny. We laughed a lot. They informed us quite a bit about the rainforest and Puerto Rico. I was running a minute behind but they waited and didn’t seem to mind. Give yourself a few extra minutes, driving around Puerto Rico can be a little challenging sometimes. The drive out was between 30-40 minutes, but Juan filled us in on a lot about Puerto Rico along the way while Luis showed us on a map where he was talking about. When we arrived, we were told we couldn’t bring a lot on the hike with us so I left my backpack behind in the van. We didn’t need a lot. While we hiked out to the river, Juan and Luis informed us about the rainforest and the animals and plants that inhabit it. Upon reaching the river, we were told we could go swimming but the water was cold. And they weren’t kidding. Most of our group opted to stay dry but a few of us got in. It was cold at first but very refreshing and crystal clear. There were quite a few fish that did not seem like they minded sharing the water with you. After swimming, we headed back to the van and headed back to San Juan. Along the way we stopped at spot that had a beautiful scenic area, where they explained to us exactly what we were seeing. Then, we stopped at a nice souvenir shop that was ran by a nice man (I don’t remember his name) but his son ran the food side of it, so we could all have a bite to eat. I had a chicken kabob and it was delicious. After eating and hanging out, we headed back to San Juan right on time. I’d really like to thank Juan for his humor and impressive driving skills, and the information he shared with us. Luis was very funny and also full of wisdom. The two of them made a very enjoyable experience for our group.

When I booked this excursion, I forgot about the time difference between our cruise ship and the island. I called and texted and after some rearranging with other local tours, they where able to get us on this excursion with a later time. Frankie (our guide) was excellent!
Shelby_B, Sep 2022
Our tour guide was Diana. She was an incredible source of knowledge, so friendly and inviting. She taught us about The history of the island and the rainforest. I learned a lot from her. We also learned about the impact Hurricane Maria had on the rainforest. Sadly I’m writing the review as Hurricane Fiona has made landfall.
Diana is a driving force for me and my family to repeat tourism to the island and because of what she taught us we will be supporting restoration efforts through financial donations. I will be back and I will take this tour again all thanks to Diana!

Jumping in the creek. It was a lot of fun My aunt found a long pole and walked across as though she was Moses until she slipped on a rock and splashed water on all of us as we were walking across.

Luis, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and very personable. He made the experience very enjoyable.
