Mixed experience - beware of traffic delays

Margaret_T, Mar 2026
I'll start by saying everyone was incredibly nice and patient, but overall we were pretty disappointed. Traffic was an absolute nightmare and we waited a solid hour to be picked up. I know the operator can't control the traffic, but it seems like this is typical for the island so frustrating they weren't there at the pickup ahead of it. The van that picked us up was in bad shape - again, I was like eh, it's the island, but another van they used for a mid excursion transport was in much better condition. The horseback riding was well run, but the "ride through the water" was one foot away from the rocky shoreline - not a beach ride and never able to go more than a slow walk. (I've had other rides where did actually get to canter down an open beach...) I think partially bc of the traffic, our "beach break" was at the horseback riding location. There was a little sandy patch and a bar, but no actual waterfront access. Bathrooms were well maintained and exceptionally clean. I contacted them to pick us up so we could wrap early. They were very responsive and we didn't have to wait long. The sloth and monkey experience (AJs) was a highlight. Family really enjoyed it. Overall, I wouldn't book this again. I hope Roatan gets the infrastructure fixed as the traffic is a huge detractor. We saw people abandoning transport and jogging back to the pier...

First let me say that...

Kerry_F, Mar 2026
First let me say that John our operator was amazing. He was kind and absolutely genuine. He truly would have taken us anywhere and we felt absolutely safe at all times. I hate when they put yes/no answers for “would you recommend this” there should be a for some people and not for others. Horseback riding was just okay - everyone was nice enough but as others have mentioned the length and quality of the trail is not there. If you have ever been on a horseback ride at a county fair that is about the length and quality. Would I do it again? No. Would I recommend it for parents with littles absolutely! It’s brief enough for fun and generally safe. No helmets were offered or provided. The Slough portion was nice and again another perfect opportunity for littles you can’t hold sloughs due to animal protection concerns however you will hold guinea pigs, red macaws and monkeys with plenty of photo opts, due to weather our snorkeling was canceled however our guide was nice enough to offer a beach or chocolate factory tour instead. If you have been to Rocky Mountain Coco late factory that’s about what we saw. A small shop with lots of tasty samples. Had the weather been better this tour may have had more potential, but generally this tour would best for parents with small childrez

Borry (tour guide) and...

Josh_G, Feb 2026
Borry (tour guide) and Jenny (driver) were great! Took roughly a 30 min drive along the coast where borry talked about the area and pointed out new things. We went straight to the monkey and sloth sanctuary where we got to hold some guinea pigs, pet some sloths, hold a macaw, and then be jumped on by some small monkeys. Had a great time with the animals. Then we took a 10 min drive to the horseback riding where we hung out and got a beer for about 10 mins while they got the horses ready. The horses looked a little worn out, but we had no issues riding them. The ride was pretty slow and took about 10 mins to a lagoon area where we walked through some murky water. Then we had about a 10 minute walk back to the stables. The weather was cloudy and windy and we didn't really want to go to the beach. So we hung out near the water in some beach chairs close to the stables for about 30 mins. On our way back we asked if we could go by the chocolate factory and they said of course. They took us to the macaw market to a store where a woman gave us a 5 min overview on how they make chocolate and gave us free samples of about 12 different types of chocolate. We got some ice cream and a mocha and wandered around the market looking at the art and gift shops for a little bit before heading back to port. Got back to port with plenty of time to walk through some stores and get a 30 min massage. We had a great time, just wish the ride could have been a longer and a better trail.

Private driver to do the tour on your own schedule

Eric_F, Dec 2025
This excursion was a great experience. My family of four had our own private driver, so we operated on our own time without having to slow down or speed up because of other people. The horseback riding and sloth adventures were both good—the sloth adventure also had monkeys and other animals. It was raining, and the tour operater was flexible to let us skip the beach and go to a chocolate factory instead. Everyone in the family had fun.

Roatan, monkey and sloth park with horse-riding and beach.

Lize_v, Dec 2025
It was easy to find the guide/driver, when you knew that you have to go out of the port area. Short walk to the car, clean and comfortable drive. She took us to the monkey sanctuary at AJs, which was a real treat and definitely the highlight of the tour, if I could I would give them a 10 out of 5 stars. The animals are well looked after and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The horseback riding was a definite letdown and as an animal lover, I was appalled to see the area and the circumstances these horses were kept in. They were not taken care of. Could not swim at the beach break, ended up paying extra for snorkeling just to use our time. The snorkeling was great, if you are thinking of booking this trip, rather opt for the monkeys and snorkeling. Better spend of your money. Enjoyable day, but would have liked info about the area from the guide instead of just a taxi driver.

Great excursion

Great day! Awesome tour guide! Highly recommended! The sloths were a great experience. Monkeys and ginny pigs too!

Beach, horses, and Bojangles!

Cole_C, Sep 2025
This was a nice simple excursion! There were a few hiccups and the operator was extremely kind and did their best to navigate issues out of anyone’s control. Our guide Sane made the entire thing super laid back, and a really enjoyable experience. Even connected us to the best Bojangles on the island!

Great Family Experience

kimberlie_S, Sep 2025
It was great the hill going to meet the driver was a bit steep, everything else was smooth. Our guide John was great very polite and told us about the area. At the horse stables Bingo was our guide and he was great as well. Gave us all kinds of information and let us try the local freash fruit growing along the way. He was very understanding g with the first time riders as well. The sloths and monkeys at AJs were fun and the staff was very nice.

Arnold_F, Jul 2025
Horses took too long to get on, ride was too short and horses looked tired and hungry, they did not want go. Guides were not very good, they walked alongside us not even on horseback, drinks at the bar were cheap liquor

Fun in Roatan

Catheline_R, Jun 2025
We had the most amazing time! Our driver ( I can’t believe I forgot his name) was the best! Very nice, explained everything, and took to a great spot to have delicious food. He did not leave us until he left us the closest he could to the ship entrance.

Horseback riding

Aundrea_M, Apr 2025
Riding the horses were extremely fun. The animals were very smart and there were no issues getting on and off the horses. MARVIN was our driver all day and boi did he get us to all of our destinations in time. He was sure to get us back to the port on time.

Best excursion

Michelle_R, Dec 2024
Amazing ! worth the money Three things in one excursion. The guides were very friendly and the taxi host was very polite.

Half and half

Sabrina_P, Nov 2024
The first part of the excursion visiting the Sloths, monkeys and deer was the best. The animals were so friendly and the staff were very knowledgeable regarding the animals. Their habitat was ok too. I wouldnt recommend the second half of the excursion with the horseback ride on the beach. The horses weren't very big, which made it awkward for the bigger men in our group. My husband is 6'1 and 265 lbs and he made the horse look small. I think they need ar least 2 bigger horses to accommodate bigger folks The route taken was very dirty with mattresses and garbage strung all along the route. The guides had to throw and kick bottles out of the way for them to take our group picture. There was about 20 feet of beach where we were taken into the water and brought back out onto the path again. The guides were terrific though and very kind. They took pics videos for us with our phones so that was really nice of them to do. I just wouldn't recommend the 2nd half of the excursion until they cleaned up the route and maybe got a few bigger horses.

I do not recommend this excursion

Marisol_F, Sep 2024
First of all, the meeting point was very confusing as to who and where the tour guide was. Once we met up with our tour guy, he was a pleasant person and answered all of our questions. I would not recommend horseback riding with this group. The horses we rode on were not in the best shape. We did enjoy the landscape view when riding , but the 3 blocks of beach that we rode the horses on was littered with debris. The pictures that are advertised are not representative of the beach we were taken to. After the horseback riding, we were taken to a another beach that was so congested with tourist we couldn't find a place to sit. We were constantly harassed by local vendors that either wanted to sell us something(T-shirts, trinkets) or offer services: massages, braid hair.

The Sloths are so adorable, great tour!

Danielle_W, Jul 2024
We really enjoyed our day horseback riding and we thought the sloths were so adorable and fun! Holding one was unforgettable! A perfect excursion from cruise guests!

An experience we won't soon forget!

John_H, Feb 2024
Overall, we had a good time. This was booked a couple weeks prior as a a shore excursion during our cruise. Later, we saw the weather was supposed to be iffy, so emailed about what would happen in the event of rain, and were told "it never rains all day in Roatan". Well, it rained all day. But we made the best of it while soaking wet (obviously the weather is not the tour guide's fault and cannot be controlled). The country is EXTREMELY poor and it's apparent they depend heavily on tourists, so we didn't want to be "those people". We arrived and waited for our driver, the vehicle (which apparently was a company car) was in pretty bad condition and sounded like it was on its last leg, but to be expected in places like this (we've been on excursions in similar situations, so this wasn't too shocking). First stop was the sloth/monkey/parrot park. The guide here was awesome! Even though it was raining, he made our experience the best it could have possibly been. We had all the time we wanted with each animal and it was truly a unique experience. This is something you definitely will not find in the states! And easily our favorite part of the excursion. We held multiple sloths, several species of birds, monkeys, and guinea pigs! Then we were off to horseback riding. This was a stable/shack off the side of the road in really rough condition. It really began pouring at this point so we were soaked. The guide here (different person) was pretty good and made the most of it given the weather. It was a relatively short trip down a rural residential street and then a quick stop on a small stretch of beach for a few photo ops and to get the horses in the water for about 5 minutes, which the horses weren't too fond of given the stormy conditions. The "beach" was extremely dirty and full of washed up trash. We are from Florida and obviously visit beaches often, so this was a FAR cry from what we are use to. Again, though, this is a different (very poor) country and understood. Last was the beach (a different one) to hang out at. This was a waste of time due to the rain at this point. We sat in an open air restaurant/bar at the beach (we were the only ones there) and got a couple drinks. Food was very expensive for what it was ($16-30ish) for basic dishes like hamburger, tacos, etc. No thanks. This almost seemed like a racket, the tour company obviously had a connection with this place and assuming this was more or less an opportunity to take advantage of the "rich" tourists. It was obvious there wasn't going to be any "beach time" being the weather was pretty miserable so we asked to leave after a couple drinks and if we could stop at a rum factory we had previously passed on the way there. The driver obliged. Not much to see at the rum factory, your basic tastings and some rum cake, but a really nice view of the back porch area. Upon leaving the rum factory, our vehicle would not start. The driver apparently lost his phone at some point also, so he went into the rum factory to use their phone to call his boss man. After about 15 minutes or so, the driver finally got the car to start and we made a frantic attempt to get back to the cruise port where we began. It was a struggle. The car died several more times and sounded like it was about to explode. Smoke was coming from engine as the driver tried to keep it running all while navigating the very narrow, crowded (extremely sketchy) streets of their town/market. It finally died on the side of the road and we sat in the car while the driver ran across the street to call boss man to rescue us. Another 20 minutes or so and we were picked up by the boss, our previous driver and smoking car were left in the rear view mirror along the side of the road. So, we at least made it back without too much additional stress or incident, but it definitely wasn't an "ideal" experience, and also isn't one we'll forget...both the good and bad. As said, the weather isn't anyone's fault, but I think a dependable car is pretty crucial given the nature of the business. Not sure if this was the fault of the driver, the company, or just a result of the circumstances. Not sure if I can recommend this exact excursion to others, but I'd like to think if the weather was nice and the car didn't break down, we probably would have had a near perfect time.

Real amazing experience....

Erik_B, Dec 2023
Real amazing experience. The only hard part and it is super minor is that you have a bit of a trek from the boat to the pick up spot. That being said everyone was super helpful in finding the spot. Once at the pick up location you get an amazing driver and they take you to the activities and give some info as you go. After the final activity you can hang on the small small beach area or you can go back to the boat or if time permits and the driver is willing they can take to an amazing restaurant called Kristi's Overlook. Amazing place to have lunch and great view of the island.

Excellent experience - horse ride was for ~1 hour, guinea pig/sloth/monkey/parrot adventure for ~1 hour, chill on beach

Herman_L, Nov 2023
Went with Royal Caribbean - you get off on the port, walk past the shops and on the right side eventually you'll find the tourist destination shops. I walked past all of that through the gate into the local area, where i met with Larry Jr. with Webster Tours to guide us. From there, we took a private transportation (4 of us in total) as he drove us half an hour to the sloth park first, little bit of visitation of the animals and take great pictures. Then he'll drive you to the ranch where the horses are. Recommend that you take the first riding if you are crunched on time - we were able to ride for what felt like an hour. Get a tour around the surrounding area and the horses will walk through a little bit of water. There will be a fair bit of mosquitoes that will bite you since the horses attract them too, so be aware that's the unfortunate case. It'll also be sunny so make sure you apply appropriate sunscreen on all areas exposed to the sun and wear a hat. The horseriding experience was great - you follow the tour guide as they walk through and you can control the direction/speed of your horse as you will. After you return, you chill on their small beach area where you can buy food and cheap massages $1/minute which is worth as well. Then he'll drive you back in time for your cruise ship. No worry at all, great experience. Would try again through TripAdvisor!

Would do it again tomorrow

Eve_M, Sep 2023
Our guid Jen was lovely made us feel safe and stayed with us from the port to each stop. Beach break was very small and crowded but they did have food and restrooms. The sloth monkey bird park was fun and informative. Horseback riding was amazing too the guid was kind and explained a lot of the area to us.

Best tour group in Rotan

Kylee_T, Sep 2023
This was one of the best tours we have ever done. Very easy to find once we left our ship. We had a group of 4 and our driver Larry was amazing. Because it was just us we were able to do everything on our time as opposed to when you are in a big bus with a ton other people

Terrible

Brenda_T, Jul 2023
Was a terrible Tours . I cannot believe I spent $200 on this tour was dropped off with one of the sketchiest people then I was given off to a girl that walked me down to a sketchy neighborhood, put me in her car and took me to the sloth park which was good. Then she took me to the sketchy horse place. We only rode the horses through a neighborhood and down the road for 15 minutes and the Tours was over.

Really fun excursion

Timothy_F, Jun 2023
The sloth encounter was great time for people of all ages. We traveled with a party of 6 ranging from children to grandparents. Everyone really enjoyed seeing and playing with all the animals. Our tour driver Bill was great, he got us to and from our encounters quickly and provided amazing facts about the Island during the drive.

All around 10!

Ashley_L, Apr 2023
This excursion was nice because it was so easy. We had the same driver all day, kids and adults loved the horses and sloths. This was a family favorite!

Honduras horseback riding, sloth park and beach tour

holly_m, Apr 2023
Getting off shore in honduras is tough for any excursion as there are crowds of people and congested streets. Companies stand holding up signs so you know where to go. When we found Webster tours, there seemed to be a man that was the lead one. met us on the main street near port. Seemed like Webster tours had a main person in charge there. He divided people up into smaller groups in different cars. My girl friend and I were assigned 2 young gentlemen. We hesitated for a second and made sure our families knew where we were via cell location. Our tour "guide" and driver were very nice young men. The driver didnt speak any English but "guide" was able to communicate in enough English. He was basically there to just answer any questions I had about the area. All conversation was initiated by me. This isnt really an excursion by one company. The excursion by Webster Tours was sub contracted out to other companies. I assume cost was to just to provide transportation and entrance fees for horse back riding and sloth park (not sure about beach part because we didn't go to one). When we arrived to horse park it also had a small beach but couldnt tell if they were together or not. I felt like when we arrived for horse back riding the company had no idea they were expected us. They plopped us on a horse and added us to another group that were just getting ready to leave. They did take us though and the ride was nice while "guide" and driver stayed behind. Horses follow in a line and we took a short walk through the water too. They stopped to take photos of everyone on the horses too. Secondly, we went to AJs sloth park which was cool. Again, driver and "guide" waited while we went thru the park on our own. Beach was supposed to be part of what we paid price for but the guide seemed to not know what or where that was. He kept asking what we wanted to do. I had to re-explain what I purchased (horses, sloth park and beach). He just kept asking what we wanted to do. Finally we mentioned we would like to snorkel and he said we could add that option on for an extra 30 bucks per person. Again, it seemed like there was no communication between Webster tours and the snorkeling people as they seemed surprised when they asked if we could just join a snorkeling group. It was worth the 30 bucks though. We took a short boat ride and snorkeled for about 45 minutes with a group of 15 people. Snorkeling guide and helpers on boat were amazing. We ended up ending the trip slightly early because we didn't know what else to do and nothing was being offered by the "guide". Overall, not a bad experience but I wish it wasn't so wishy washy about what was expected. I also wished we got to see a nice beach and not the small one at the horse place. When I had asked the "guide" where other beaches were he kind of motioned on the other side of the island. So we didn't really get to see coastal beach. I elwas able to communicate via viator questions about the excursion such as where to get picked up and time. I think it should be clearer to customers what exactly the plan is. I also think it would be helpful to mention that extras can be added such as the snorkeling on the app.

So disappointing

Anqunette_M, Apr 2023
First, our guide Sonny was great. I have nothing but good things to say about him. Also, the Sloth Park was a blast and we had a lot of fun. And that’s where the good times ended. This company should really find a new horseback riding business. We waited about 40 minutes to ride horses and while this is billed as private, we were placed with a group of 12 people and my husband was given a horse they had to bring from the back. He was much taller than the other horses and not as tame. We should have known something was off because the guide held the horse as he walked along side him the entire ride. None of the other horses needed this attention. When we got to the water, my husband’s horse got behind another horse and tried to bite it, which made the horse in front try to kick my husband’s horse. My husband’s horse starting spinning and thrashing in the water, reared back, and bucked off my husband right into the water. And to cap it all off, the horseback ride lasted 15 minutes and it was supposed to be an hour. Finally, because we wasted so much time waiting to ride the horses, we had no beach break. What a waste of $200 and our time on the island.

Awesome excursion!

Karin_S, Apr 2023
Holding a sloth is like holding a newborn baby! Just amazing! The entire excursion was fun, exciting and well designed. I'll do it again when I can!

A Perfect Cruise Excursion with Amazing Photo Ops

Susan_W, Mar 2023
We exited our cruise and were picked up in a private car with Jack. He stayed with us all day and Larry, the person I contacted through Viator, was easy to communicate with and told me where to go and who to look for. We went to the sloth park first and beat all the cruise traffic and then hopped on our horses for a gentle ride near and in the water. Went back to the beach near the stables and spent the rest of the day on the little beach and in the water enjoying great views, food and service!

Don't miss out on a great time!

amanda_c, Mar 2023
Amazing guide and once in a lifetime experience all wrapped up in our private guide with his own vehicle. No waiting in long lines, screaming kids on a bus. I don't think I'll ever book through the cruise ship again after such a great time and we were able to make the best of the short time the cruise ship permitted. Try it and you won't be disappointed! He took care to check us in and welcome us back from horseback riding and monkeys. Gave us a tour of island and stopped.if we wanted to. I cant wait to come back.
