Our guide was so friendly and informative. We had a really good time walking around the area and learning about the history and present.
Luiz was a great tour guide; he took care of us the whole time. He knows a lot about trees and told us many interesting things.
Luiz was excellent - the tour was educational, we felt safe and enjoyed it very much. Strongly recommend!
Our guide was so informative and nice to tour with. He even asked if we would wait a little for another couple who were running late. We waited and waited but in the end we had to leave.
I believe the lady became very abusive on text and this was so unfair to our guide as we all waited for some time. It was their duty to turn up on time like we did. Anything she says in a review I would ignore, it is unjustified! He is brilliant, kind and patient.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone staying in Rio. We were a bit hesitant booking this tour but our guide luiz put our minds at rest and opened our eyes on life in a favela. I guarantee you will truly see what life is really like instead of what the films show you! I'd recommend doing a favela tour with a local guide, luiz was very knowledgeable and open to answering any questions we had. Thanks luiz!

Be warned though lots of steps to ascend / descend.
People and views and guide’s knowledge of the area were key to a real tour, not an artificial one. You can trust this company and its people.
Our guide Luiz is very nice and friendly person. The meeting point were in Centro Municipal in favela a then we went through all favela down. We were only two persons and witnhout lunch we spent in favela 1,5hours. Very interesing, Luiz tell you how the favela working and show you everything important.
The tour was amazing, we got to learn social, political, economical facts about Rocinha presented in an veritable way by a local guide. I recommend visit Rocinha and I truly recommend picking this tour guide.
This felt like an in depth and hands on view of the favela! Luis being a resident of the favela meant we felt very secure and he knew so much about the history and misconceptions of favelas. It ended up being just my husband and I but he still made the effort to show us around and was enthusiastic and informative throughout, even taking lots of pics for us! Only thing I would say is there is a lot of walking and comfortable shoes are a must, also not suitable for those with vertigo! Other than that I think maybe some clear facts about the history of slavery and favelas would be more useful such as dates etc all in all really enjoyed it!
