It was great to check out the murals and learn more about Brazil’s history through them, while also getting the local experience of taking the trains and subways within Rio and going to places you tourists might otherwise pass up!

A most enjoyable few hours with our guide Wellington, viewing street art in Rio. Saw a lot of things we’d never have found on our own. As well as putting the artwork in context he told us a lot about the history of the city, politics, architecture, Carnival & Samba schools. Felt it was much more informative & got a much better insight into the city than sitting on a coach having things pointed out. We finished our tour at the rainbow stairs, where Wellington pointed out a few of his favourite places to eat & as a result we finished off with a really fab lunch amongst locals. Highly recommended.

Wellington gave an outstanding tour. He clearly explained the significance of the graffiti murals and architectural elements.His tour was quite comprehensive and included many different neighborhoods and artistic styles. I really enjoyed my experience in “Little Africa”. He had extensive knowledge of the to social and political issues related to specific art pieces.
Wellington speaks excellent English and even gave me a chance to practice my portuguese! I highly recommend Wellington’s tour to anyone interested in street art, architecture, murals and afro-Brazilian culture.

It was a really nice tour. I was alone so it was a private tour. Rio offers some very nice street art. The guide was really nice, open for any question and knows a lot of it. I would really recommend to do this tour.

My Guide Wellington has an enormous background knowledge about Rio de Janeiro. It was very interesting & fun to listen to all the Stories & History around the Graffitis.. I loved it! Would def recommend this tour..
Wish: maybe adding a few of new/younger Graffitis to the Tour - a lot of them are quite ‚old‘.

The Rio Street tour, created by its guide Wellington, was a great experience to see another side of Rio that’s less traveled. The tour guide walked me through the significance of the Cinelândia, Cento and Porto Maravilha areas as we viewed the street art.
The murals we saw in Porto Maravilha were explained in detail about their messages. The history of this port area and its connection to enslaved Africans were also discussed. The tour’s route goes near Little Africa, the futuristic Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) and Museu de Arte do Rio.
The tour accommodates groups as little as one person (me!). I really appreciate the tour guide purchasing my ticket for the train we had to take, thereby avoiding a potential fine. If it’s open, do ask about walking the grounds of Cidade do Samba near the train’s stop before the street art tour really gets going.

Wellington, our guide, provided us with an informative and enjoyable tour experience! He shared the rich history behind the art and a lot Rio history. Throughout the tour he sprinkled in stories based on his experience as a native.
In addition to the art, we had an opportunity to tour the Carnival float staging and storage area.
The tour is along an easy walking route but you may want to bring along a bottle of water.
I highly recommend the tour!

This tour was the most educational tour we experienced and I’m SO happy with the flow and insight, details and education on “Little Africa”. My friends and I originally reserved the “Street Art Tour” then asked Wellington if he could give us a tour of “Little Africa” instead. Without hesitation, he provided a great tour that brought ideas and history of slavery in Brazil full circle. Thank you for such an amazing, thorough history lesson Wellington!

This tour is fabulous! The street art is beautiful, and the tour takes you to several different areas/ neighborhoods you might not otherwise see. I can’t say enough good things about Gabriel, our guide. He was so knowledgeable about the graffiti but also about the history of the city and its landmarks. He wove that all together during the tour that made it all that much more interesting. Plus he was very friendly and a great host. I would highly recommend this tour.
