Great experience even though the weather was cloudy and rainy was still able to see all the sites. The meeting point was quite difficult to find google map’s kept sending us in different directions so allow enough time before your flight encase you experience the same problem.

A memorable experience - a MUST DO whilst in Rio

This is a MUST-DO whilst in Rio! I must preface this by saying the pre-flight experience left much to be desired but don't let this put you off booking. We arrived on time 15 minutes prior to our 1230pm booking, as stated in the confirmation email. The receptionist seemed surprised to see us and clearly wasn’t expecting us. She couldn’t find any reference to our booking, which was frustrating as 1) we were obviously excited about this holiday highlight event and 2) we’d travelled nearly an hour from central Rio by taxi to get there. Eventually a phone call seemed to suggest they did in fact have the booking. A different woman anrrived and said that although the booking said 12.30pm, it was actually 1pm as we had to undergo a half hour of induction. Odd as induction comprised filling in a few forms and took 5 minutes. We were left with the sense that they have somehow forgotten our booking. We ended up getting taken to the helicopter about 45 minutes after our appt time. It felt a bit micky mouse-ish and we just hopped this wasn’t going to be reflected in the quality of the helicopter and pilot. Fortunately, the actual flight itself was brilliant and we had a fabulous pilot who was determined that we would be able to see Christ the Redeemer despite the cloud cover so made quite a few attempts to get us up close. On the last attempt, the clouds parted and we got great views and photos. The flight was definitely a highlight of our South America travels so go ahead and book but maybe check ahead that your booking is expected.

Incredible flight, but very disappointed in the media package

I booked a helicopter flight on Monday, February 16th, and the actual flying experience was spectacular. The views were breathtaking and the ride itself was professional and smooth. However, I am extremely disappointed with the video and picture package I purchased. For the additional price paid, I expected high-quality, clear captures of the landscape. Instead, the footage and photos are: Blurry and out of focus: The quality does not represent the beauty of the tour. Very limited: There were very few shots included for the cost. Poor value: The results do not justify the premium price tag of the package. I truly enjoyed the tour, but I feel the media package was a waste of money given the technical issues. I would appreciate it if Viadora could reach out to issue a refund for the photo/video portion of my booking, as the product provided was not of professional standard.

The most miserable experience in my life as traveler!I arrived at site 10 minutes before the scheduled time, I was waiting for an hour to start the excursion, the clerk told me to cancel if I don’t want to wait another 1-2 hours when the other passengers will . I told her since they are late at least an hour they should be cancelled. She asked me to read the fine line printed disclosures! The booking time was not guaranteed! They were people there in my situation who had to leave the hotel room at certain times! I am ashamed of Viator doing business with such a shady outfit! Your time is money think twice before you contract with Viator! Unfortunately , I had this experience with Viator 3 times within last 7 days! They just subcontract with local, unreliable outfits! They don’t care if you are happy it’s not!

BAD EXPERIENCE, guy that brought us to the helicopter was rude and didn’t let us take any photos outside the helicopter (which they said we could) and pulled my sisters arm to back her away from the helicopter while she was in the SAFE ZONE. They didn’t make us sign a waiver till AFTER we got off the flight meaning if anything would have happened to us they would have no documents. Everything was rushed ! The tour time is not 30 min and I’m glad because the whole ride was shaky. The pilot barely spoke to us on the journey to inform us what we were passing etc. I would not recommend booking if you’re a girl of color. Very bad service

We would like to clarify that, for safety and regulatory reasons, all scenic flight companies in Rio de Janeiro do not allow photos to be taken around the aircraft while it is in operation. We checked with our team and confirmed that this guidance was passed on during the pre-flight briefing. Detachment around the aircraft is not permitted, due to operational safety guidelines and strict monitoring by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). Our runway director informed that he took this action due to flight safety, always with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of all passengers and the integrity of the flight. The provider’s website offers various time slots for helicopter tours on its homepage. I booked a 3:00 PM slot, thinking it was a fixed time for my flight. Unfortunately, this turned out to be completely inaccurate, and I had to wait nearly four hours before the flight finally took place. While the flight itself and the staff were friendly and tried their best to make the experience as pleasant as possible, the poor planning caused me to lose half a day in Rio. The provider waits until there are enough passengers before the flight takes off. This means that the time slots shown on the website are essentially placeholders. The actual flight happens only when it suits the provider. If you choose this provider, you should be prepared to scrap any plans for the rest of the day and expect hours of waiting. While I understand the staff’s arguments—after all, a helicopter flight is not the same as a bus ride—the information on the website is misleading and seems designed to encourage quick bookings rather than provide realistic expectations.

This was a nice flight over leblon, copacabana, and leme, around Christ the Redeemer, and near sugar loaf. The hangar is easy to find and the man at the front desk is friendly. The actual flight is about 30 min and Rio is beautiful from above. A Brazilian came with us (3 ppl per ride) and paid 700 Rais (I paid a much higher price earlier online). I later discussed the helicopter trip with a Brazilian friend and he stated that he too paid the 700 reais rate. Furthermore, one of the individuals sternly yelled at my friend for taking a picture when he was told he could by a different employee. The pilot talked sparingly and only in Portugues. No photography in/around the hangar.

Tour was great, before you book… PLEASE CHECK WEATHER. Visibility can change so fast and we got lucky the clouds cleared up for us during our time slot. We were delayed 30 mins due to the clouds. Other than that, so memorable to see Rio from above. The pilot doesn’t speak English very well but that wasn’t an issue since we were focused on the views. Checking in was easy and efficient.

I booked for solo, they changed my booking time twice, then, after sitting in their office for an hour and a half, they informed me that they couldn't take me up until another 4 hours. They ruined this experience that I had hoped to have and had been looking forward to this entire vacation. I wasted two Uber rides, which were not cheap, for nothing. Do no book with them.

We booked a private tour of 525 USD for 30 minutes flight, 2 people (it states in the add that you’ll be flying between 25-30 minutes). We were back after 17 minutes. The sun was perfect, no wind, no nothing. When I asked the pilot why he flew so short, he mentioned I should make a complaint if I am unhappy with the time he flew. I complained at the office after the flight and they said the pilot decides when to come back. Ok, but what about my money, as I received half of what I paid for…(?) Very unprofessional, to be avoided!

I marked this experiment for December 28 more than a month in advance in Rio de Janeiro and paid more than 1700 euros in advance. I paid the VIP experience package (more 400 euros than the normal package) to have a flight that ended at sunset and only for my family. Being 6 passengers said when we arrived at 17:30 that the 2nd helicopter (which carries 4 passengers) was not that had gone to do another service. I explained that the experience payment covered this helicopter because I paid too much to have the vip experience. They said they only had one helicopter (which takes 3 passengers) and would make the 2 30-minute trips each. I asked that the last 3 passengers would travel at night and not finish the trip at sunset, as agreed over a month ago. I also mentioned that if I was not going to have the vip experience because we only had a helicopter and not 2 to take the 6 and enjoy the contracted service and asked that they repay me the difference of about 400 euros for the normal service since the last 3 left after the sun went down and returned at 19:12 and not at 18:14 as the first 3 that ended with sunset. I made a complaint at Viator to ask for the return of this difference and said that the provider did not accept. I was very dissatisfied with the response from Viator and the package provider In this case, 3 people were injured due to the lack of professionalism of Viator and the helicopter team For my part, I do not recommend any of these to anyone because they did not comply with the service contracted and do not refund part of the error, which was from the helicopter company.

Es war mein Geburtstagsgeschenk! Habe mich riesig darauf gefreut. Im Vorfeld wurden bestimmte Details abgefragt und ich dachte mir, WOW, Es läuft wie am Schnürchen. Dann kam der Tag des Heliflugs! Ich versuche moderat zu formulieren, sonst wird es böse. Wir waren rechtzeitige da, sogar überpünktlich. Wir wurden empfangen und in einem Raum gesteckt. Dauert ein paar Minuten, sagte der "freundliche" Herr. Nach 45 Minuten frage ich noch freundlich, ob der Flug noch stattfinden wird? Jaja, alles im Plan, wir fliegen bei Tageslicht. Es war bereits 18:00 Uhr, wir sollten eigentlich den letzten Flug um 17:30 nehmen und Sonnenuntergang war um 18:21 Uhr. Wir flogen dann um 18:30 Uhr los, nachdem ich die Welle gemacht habe. Mit dem restlichen Dämmerungslicht flogen wir die ersten Strände ab, aber die Highlights waren schon im Dunklen. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Der Cristo wurde in dem Moment beleuchtet, als wir vorbeiflogen. Naja, aus 30 Minuten wurden 22 und der Pilot war auch nicht gerade gesprächig. Wie denn auch. Hatte er doch sei 18:00 Uhr Feierabend. Schade, war eine nette Erfahrung, doch hat man klar gespürt, man ist ein zahlender Kunde, der eh nur einmal kommt, dementsprechend wird man auch behandelt. Wegen dem beleuchteten Cristo gibt es 2 Sterne. PS: Es gibt auch andere Anbieter... Dachte als Subunternehmen von TripAdvisor kann gar nichts schief gehen. Falsch gedacht....
