Our buggies have a capacity of up to 4 passengers, ideal to take a day off with your family on the most fun way possible. We will make sure to bring you comfort and safety during your trip. While on route, take a break and enjoy the waters of the amazing Anamuya river. Continue your tour with a visit to the coconut house or “Casa del Coco” to learn how coconut oil is produced.

We had a great experience! The monkeys were awesome and driving the buggies was fun. Some of the driving was done on the local roads where we passed a school, houses, man riding a horse, etc. It was neat to see some of the countryside. The rest of the driving was done off road through bumpy dirt roads and mud puddles. Our tour guide, Darius, was super informative telling us about the area, how the tour would work, and a ton of facts about Dominican life!

Monkeyland was amazing Oscar was an amazing tour leader. I wish I could remember the second tour leaders name. We learned a lot about squirrel monkeys. The lunch was very good, one of the best tour lunches we have had. The buggy experience would have been much better and enjoyable without the sales pitches for cigars, rum, coconut oil, chocolate products, coffee, and Mamajuana.

For sure an experience. We have never had little monkeys all over us before. They were the cutest things! Very glad we did it but now that we experienced it, it would not be on the list for next trip. I would rather be on the beach. The buggy’s were nice to see the Mountain View’s extremely beautiful. We have buggies so the drive itself is uneventful. If you have little ones and don’t have buggies the ride would be fun. There are spots with small mud holes that you can go fast through and have Ty the mud fly up. The kids loved that.

The monkeys were a really cool experience, super friendly and ran all over you. The guys were really accommodating in making sure all people experienced the monkeys sitting and perching on you. The sales pitches were not pushy at all nor did we feel they took a lot of time. we found all aspects to be very informative about the Dominican culture and their resources. Giving this four stars only because we would have liked the buggie experience to have a longer ride, felt a bit short. The buggies do stop at a water hole/quarry. Maybe bring your suit if you are a big water bug (only 15 min swim time). Bandana didn’t feel necessary. Our guide PJ was awesome, hilarious, and very informative!

It is more than buggies and monkeys. We got a true feel for the Dominican. Could not have asked for better. Amazing staff! We had PJ and the most amazing bus guide and driver Angel.

My experience was awesome. The tour guide instructor was awesome & made sure we were comfortable & having a good time- ( sorry forgot your name ) buggies was great ! As an animal lover, I can tell you this is not just a place to hold monkeys. This is a conservation reserve, and they are so informative teaching us about these amazing squirrel monkeys. The caregivers impressed me with their knowledge. A once-in-a-lifetime experience!!!
The authentic food was amazing and my family scarfed it up, went back for seconds!
My husband enjoyed the buggy ride and breaking the rules and dousing all of the girls in mud.
We could’ve done without all the sales pitches for cigars and coffee and chocolate that we didn’t want, but overall a five star experience.

This was a very fun filled day! We started at Monkeyland and then took the walk to the cigar rolling house. The lunch was excellent and plenty of it! Then we took the buggies out and around. We all enjoyed the trip. PJ our Buggie Guide was funny and took great care to ensure everyone was informed and engaged about the rules. After the buggies we stopped at the Chocolate making house where they did spend some time talking and selling us chocolate and coffee.
Overall this was a great experience for the whole family.

Way too long in between the two excursions. Pick up go to a gas station wait for another transport. Monkeys were cool. Wait more for next. Long drawn out cigar session. Wait for buggies. Another stop about coffee and coconut. 8 hours long. Could have been cut in half if it wasn't for all the down time

This excursion was very disappointing. Monkeyland was great! The monkeys are so cute and they jump all over you while you feed them. However so much time is wasted between activities. We started the excursion seeing the monkeys and then the cigar factory and then ate lunch. The lunch was good. We then had to wait forever to get on the buggies. Basically all we did was ride in a line following one another. We made a stop at a river that had funky water. It did not look appealing at all. After that we got back on the bikes and rode a little more. I wouldn’t even call it riding because we never did pick up any type of speed. After the buggie ride, we had to sit and listen to the longest sale pitch for all the items they sell. By this time I was just ready to leave.

We did a the ATV/Monkey tour with Adventure Runner. Nacho was our guide during the drive and Bryan our driver. Nacho did an amazing job keeping it fun and entertaining. The monkey tour was so much fun and we had about 30mins with the monkeys. They were everywhere but it was exciting. The food provided was very good, the best food we had in DR and the view was amazing. It rained during our ATV tour but we knew going in this maybe a possibility and the details were upfront that it would not be cancelled if this happened. It was cold during the rain, we made the best of it and then the sun came out for the 2nd half of the ride so it ended up being a great experience. We did not swim in the river due to the heavy rain the water was high, the cigar tour my family enjoyed and we all enjoyed the chocolate info. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend.

Extremely well organized and punctual. Tour guide was great. The monkeys were adorable and one of the best experiences I have had.
The side by side was good too. We didn’t know we were stopping for a swim at the river and would have brought a swimsuit.
Overall a great excursion. I would recommend this company, Runners Adventures for your excursions.

Some feedback though IMO:
Would have been nice to know you spend 20 mins with the monkeys - and 45 mins going through photos and buying the photos. Monkeys were great and entertaining - but not enough time. My 8y wasn’t a fan so she stayed clear away. It was all about photos and then you were done.
Would have been nice to know about the cigar presentation that took 30 mins plus shopping for cigars and the Mama Juanita for another 15-20 mins. Kids weren’t overly excited about that. Us adults were entertained though.
Lunch was delish!
Dune buggy’s - were great! Super fun! Would have been nice to get dirty - the 1 mud/water spot was super fun - it would have been nice to have the option to get muddier and go in the dirt as opposed to the streets - that’s what dune buggy’s are right? Would also have been nice to know you have a 20 mins stop at the pond to swim. And another 20-30 to listen to the cocoa sales speal - all during the dune buggy’s experience. 2 stops. Total time on dune buggy’s were maybe 45 mins. With they would have told us to bring sunnies and bandanas - no worries, they do sell it all.
Highly reco if coming with kids, to bring snacks and water. There’s quite a lot of downtime. Lots of ways to improve this excursion - still overall super enjoyable but Im still debating if it’s worth the $4XX for 4 people.
Oh- bus ride, super interesting - learned a lot about the culture and country. Didn’t like having to switch buses though.
Again, this is my opinion - I’m a 4X-year old, went to this excursion with my family of 4 and another family of 4 - kids 8Y-11Y age range. Kids loved it - except for all the sales aspects to buy pictures, waiting time, and the speeches.
Wanted to provide a thorough debrief for others.

Our drivers Sammy and Brian were amazing, lots of great information and lots of laughs, loved their energy! Every guide on each tour was super informative and were fantastic at answering questions. Everyone involved made the experience amazing and one to remember, will definitely be doing this again in the future!

The monkeys are an absolute MUST to see!! The buggies were okay but I could have done without them. The only recommendation I have is that customers should not have to switch vans so many times.

I loved this experience! We started with the jungle buggies and drove around the town and into a river. You can swim at the river but the river stop was not long so most of us didn’t. We then had lunch and went to monkey land which was the favorite part of the day. The time was not bad and lasted around 8 hours. We got back to the hotel around 3:30pm so you can do other things if you wish.

Overall experience was great. The monkeys were so cool to see and have them jump all over you. PJ the atv tour guide was very funny and made sure you understood everything before leaving. They take you on a trail down to a river to swim. They only gave us 10 mins to swim though. I think that was the only downside we would have liked to swim a little longer.

Kids had a wonderful time with monkeys and buggies except the waiting for other people from other tours to go back to our resort we were over 2 hours late and our buggies were not operating properly and had to be modified mid run

MonkeyLand was a lot of fun. We also had fun on the buggies when we finally got to ride them. There was a 3 hour wait between the time we ended at Monkeyland til we actually started driving the buggies. It was hot, they offered us one bottle of water, and they kept telling us “5 minutes.” Because of that, I would never recommend this tour.

This as one of the best excursions I’ve been on! Our original tour guide and driver were Julio and Gary. We then had Sammy after the monkeyland tour. The wine tasting and cigar making class was also fun. PJ was great at the Jungle Buggies.
