Overall, the experience was enjoyable, and the staff, especially our primary guide, were great.
A few aspects of the excursion, however, felt somewhat misleading. The advertised chocolate and coffee tasting consists of only very small samples (thimble size), and there is no actual chocolate provided. The tasting is primarily designed to encourage purchases at the store.
On the topic of purchases, I strongly recommend carefully reviewing your receipt and calculating the exchange rate yourself. One member of our group was nearly charged approximately $1,200 USD for her purchases that no where near were worth that amount. Fortunately, she reviewed the total before completing the transaction. For sure gave off scam vibes.
The cave itself was beautiful and well worth seeing. However, before arriving at the cave, the tour stops at another store where guests are encouraged to shop. While the sales approach was not overly aggressive, it did detract somewhat from the overall experience.
The beach was absolutely stunning, clean, and one of the highlights of the excursion. Similar to other stops, there were local vendors present attempting to sell goods and services. While understandable, the frequent sales pitches could be distracting for those looking to simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Overall, I enjoyed the excursion and appreciated the guide and staff. With more transparency regarding the shopping stops and tasting experience, it would have been an even better experience.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We truly appreciate your kind words about our guide and staff, and we are very happy to know that you enjoyed the cave, the beautiful beach, and the overall excursion.
We are sorry to hear that some aspects of the experience did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the tasting experience and the shopping stops are very valuable to us. We always strive to provide enjoyable and transparent experiences, and feedback like yours helps us continue improving our service.
Regarding purchases made at local stores, we always encourage our guests to carefully review their receipts and totals before completing any transaction. These shops are independently operated, but we certainly take your concerns seriously and will share your comments with the appropriate parties.
We are delighted that the cave and beach were highlights of your day, and we appreciate your understanding regarding the local vendors that are commonly present in these areas.
Thank you again for your honest review, your recommendations, and for choosing us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an even better experience.
With gratitude and best wishes! ❤️

The overall experience was very fun but there was a few hiccups. As we were getting there to meet our bus we ran into traffic and was 8 mins anway and we contacted the contact person to let him know. He told us that was okay and the bus will wait. As we’re arriving the bus is heading out the parking lot so we had to flag him down. Once we got there it was a 20 minute wait. After we go situated in our vehicles we shortly pulled off. (There were no lockers so get a buggy or don’t bring anything) the ride was fun but more dust than mud. After our first stop something happened with the wheel on the buggy and had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come get us and take us to the cave where we only had 5 minutes to jump so I didn’t get to jump but it was still nice in there. The rest of the tour was very fun and had some amazing views. Once we were back we waited over 30 minutes for our bus to pick us up.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced with the pickup, the buggy issue, and the waiting times throughout the tour.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding when the unexpected mechanical problem occurred. While we’re sorry that it reduced the time you had at the cave, we’re happy to hear that you still enjoyed the experience and the beautiful views along the way.
Your comments are very valuable to us and will help us improve our operations and communication to provide a smoother experience for future guests. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even better adventure next time.

The actual buggy ride was fine, but everything else was nothing but a money grab. Every place you stop, it’s just a bunch of vendors trying to pressure you to buy something. Our buggy ran poor, but got us from point A to B. At the end, they make you give a review in front of them before you can leave.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thanks for the comment. Remember, we explained to them before they left that those vendors aren't part of the company. You buy if you want, if not, you say no. The comment is so we know what's right or wrong, so we can verify the points. Thanks again!

The experience itself was fantastic. It would have been nice to have a bit more time at each of the sites. It did feel rushed. The beach was beautiful and the cave was super cool. My 4 star rating comes from we were the only English speaking people in the large group and we felt very little direction or information was given to us to help navigate the tour. I have no problem with a tour in Spanish and English but both languages need to be fairly represented. We were very lost most of the time trying to figure out where to go or what time we needed to leave.

Thanks so much we will fix this !!!

Team forgot to pick us up, but made it right in the end. Crew was very friendly and helpful. We knew it would be dusty but did not realize that that it would be full-on mud from head to toe by the time we were done. It had rained, so that probably did make a difference, but there was nothing around your feet in the buggies to protect your shoes or backpacks. There was so much mud we ruined clothing. All in all, it was a fun day. Wished they would focus more on the farming and agricultural aspect of the coffee/chocolate. The cave swimming and beach was fun and refreshing.

Very friendly guides and staff. Too many high pressure sales of souvenirs at the starting point and throughout the trip. The riding time was around half of the experience, the rest were stops you couldn't truly experience without vendors wanting you to come look at their items. I understand that people want to make an income, however I can see that you have booths set up and if I want to see them, I can do that on my own free will. I didn't feel like I could truly experience the beauty of our stops without people constantly trying to drag us away to look at their stuff. However, the guides were amazing and very friendly.

Very dusty and hot. Bring a bandana or face mask so you can breathe. Very crowded so be prepared to start and stop to wait.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
We thank you for sharing your opinions with us, it is normal if the tour has 3 stops you have to wait at each stop and not just run, of course it is hot it is a tropical country so the bandanas are very important it is for your own good thank you...

Workers very helpful they were instrumental in aiding and assisting my husband who has limited mobility. There should a camera setup in the cave to automatically snap your photo when diving/jumping in the water.

Buggies ran well. There was not that much mud, really only one big puddle. Still was fun and covered us from head to toe. The beach was by far the best part!! So beautiful. The cenote was cool but too crowded. Not really great for kids.

The entire experience was fantastic! Great customer service and communication leading up to the tour. The tour was so much fun and allowed us to see and learn so much in a few hours. Our guides were knowledgeable and kept an eye on the group's safety the entire trip. Macao Beach is absolutely stunning. The coffee and cocoa stop was interesting and the cave swim was a refreshing way to end the tour. Things to note: Wear old clothes, you are going to get dirty! Be prepared to be asked to buy items at each stop, you can say no but the pressure is real! Take water with you. Every person in my family enjoyed this excursion.

Pick up was easy, communication as well. Crew was good, gave us some tips and tricks. Driving a buggy was fun, lots of mud so prepare yourself with glasses and mouth cover. Traditional Dominican house does not exist, or does if its sales outside covered space, they show you beans of coffee, cocoa and leafs of tobacco. You can see how they roll cigars. No show of how to grind beans, just tools. Took 4 minutes max and then they are presenting products, to taste and see and to buy. Point is to take you there and spend money. This is really disappointing since we been in Egypt, Tunisia, Marakesh etc and really see typical house, spoke with ppl and see products and production. I would not say it’s a scam but don’t advertise something that’s not so true. Cave was good experience, you jump in water take picture and that’s it. Overall, cool experience, don’t expect to much, you can buy tobacco, cocoa etc, have fun…. Would be better if you can see real house talk with owners, see real production, not only sales

This is just as cool as all of the reviews say! The beach is beautiful and we really enjoyed the time we got to spend there. The tasting was pretty good, presentation was neat! The cave was absolutely amazing!!! It was the highlight for me. After that, they give you time to shop. I didn’t care for that. Everyone is extremely pushy and children ask for money. No fault of the excursion though, just something to expect. You get muddy, very muddy which is what I had hoped for. Coca Cola is as cool as the reviews say :) if we ever come back, we will do it again. So much fun! I read hundreds of reviews prior to booking, did not disappoint.

Thanks we hope you come back in you next vacation

Expect to throw away your clothes after this! super fun - but its as muddy as you see in the pics! Bring a waterproof pouch for phone and cash - there is a place to buy "Traditional DR Products" - its a bit of a pushy sales pitch - but -everyone's trying to make a buck. The buggy ride itself was super fun - the cave is a 'at your own risk' - we were there during a very crowded time - the visit to Macao beach was lovley - you are in good hands with "Mr. Panda"!

Great job by the guide and running the adventure. Starts slow but picks pace only when going to Macao beach. Understand the initial is going thru local. I feel should avoid, feel sad to see their plight and kids running behind vehicle for some cash, one it's a risk , second I personally feel we are making them beg risking their life.
