The only reason I’m giving this 5 stars is because of The Catamaran. It was the most enjoyable part of the excursion! My boyfriend and I went for my birthday and they made it so enjoyable! The staff was amazing and made you feel comfortable. For Dune Buggy, we were so excited to splash through puddles & get muddy, but that barely happened. The staff didn’t let us go through much and pretty much ruined the the experience. As for the views, they were beautiful. I enjoyed the chocolate/coffee tasting and visiting the cave. It was so beautiful and great for pictures.

It never happened. I contacted the number provided a day before because we had not hear anything from the vendor and called multiple times. Our booking agency did too with no results. Our hotel concierge called and nothing. When the day came we waited and waited and nothing. We had to book through another agency and paid double. Book directly with your hotel, is safer and you won't have to waste time with no answer at all.

The cruise was great. Deryl was amazing and really knowledgeable. The buggies were okay but lots of upselling as part of the experience. Kept stopping at places which required you to spend money.

Very upset that we were notified 9 hours prior to our excursion that they canceled it. Viator not great at communicating and does not understand that some families have their entire trip planned

We never made it on the trip and I was only refunded half my money because "it cost them money". We received an email at approximately 9:30 the night before while out to dinner and we were told we would be picked up at approximately 7:00 am all the way out the gate and outside of our resort and to go to bellhop for a ride. All along we were under the impression pick up would be at 8:30 a.m. which we were prepared for and to be picked up at the resort and not outside of it. We decided to skip the buggies due to the 7:00 am pick up and also due to having to get a ride outside the resort and stand there to wait. We had no access to food or water at that time of night as we were just getting to the restaurant for dinner. They then agreed we could just to the afternoon catamaran and allowed me to bring 2 other people to make up for the buggies we were forfeiting, but they never informed us we would be picked up inside the resort where the rest of the excursions pick you up. I even have pictures proving that they sent me information telling us to be outside the gates of our resort to be picked up for the catamaran excursion. After spending our morning preparing for this excursion and planning our day around it, we were standing right where we told to be, outside the gates of the resort, sweating our butts off. We were finally picked up by their company only to be brought back to the hotel where the excursions pick you up and drop you off. We explained to him, through a translator, that we were on that trip so we left again. He then drove us back to the front gate to drop us off again, which is about a mile from the resort. We then explained again, through a translator, that we were on that trip. We were then told that van was for hotel guests and we were brought back to the resort where we finally gave up. We had no idea where we were getting picked up or who was picking us up. I was later told that they sent a pic of the van that was picking us up; however, we were far too busy standing in the hot sun and being driven back and forth trying to explain we were on the trip to be checking messages at that moment about who, what and where! It was a little late for kind of communication!! When I explained that I didn't have good service outside the resort or at some places within the resort, I was told that I need to have good service. Hmm...so basically their lack of communication was my fault and cost me $250!!

Where to even start.
Communication was a bit rough. I kept waiting for their confirmation email but it never came and I kept messaging them but wouldnt respond till I got their whats app that when they started to respond. But mind you when I reached out to them it was the night of my tour. They cancelled my catamaran tour but eventually figured it out (let me tell u it was alot of back and forth with the agent) Anyways the catamaran I eventually got was one of the best Ive had tho.

Going to Macao Beach Was a Highlight of this excursion. When dressing for the excursion Be prepared to never wear the clothing you are wearing ever again. It is THAT muddy. I would still recommend it none the less.

We had the same guide throughout the trip - Verley (I think his name was). He was fantastic, kept checking in with us, informative and friendly.
I would have scored this higher but the buggy tour was really disappointing. After being issued with our buggy, we drove for about 5 minutes to the first stop. Billed as a country Farm, I didn’t see any of the produce being grown near by and basically it was a selling pitch for extortionately priced Coffee, Cacao, aloe Vera, green tea etc. Then you are followed around by the staff hassled to purchase and then told one price and when you go to pay the price has changed and gone up! We left some of the items we did pick due to price hike!
Back on the buggy and less than 5 minutes and at the Macao Beach. Not the guides fault but there is constant hassle from the local vendors to look and spend money with them. After this short stay here we were back on the buggy for a longer run on the ATV to the cave. Once again at the entrance to cave many vendors all hassling people to look and spend. A very short time visiting this spot too, before the short trip back to the beginning. The amount of time on the buggy considering it was a buggy trip was pitiful.
The afternoon on the boat was some what improved. The drinks were good, the staff were great and the snorkelling was good fun too. The only annoyance was some customers had booked a shark and Ray experience and we just had to sit on the boat whilst they had their time doing that. The children just wanted to get off and snorkel again but we’re not allowed.

My family loved visiting the cave during the dune buggy adventure. The snorkeling was fun also. Our guide, Kitson, made sure we had a great time! I would suggest breaking it into 2 days. We were exhausted before we even started the 2nd part of the day.

It was the best part of my trip to punta Cana. I had so much fun with the dune buggy’s as my first part of the excursion. Followed by snorkeling. Well organized and they communicated well through out. I highly recommend it.

The dune buggies were a lot of fun! It was very dry and the dust was hard to see through, but they had some mud there too and got us dirty - it was great! If I had to make one suggestion, it would be for there to be bottled water given out. It was very dry and although we brought water, it was extremely warm by the time we got to drink it.
Snorkeling cruise was fantastic! I was disappointed when it was over. The staff were fantastic and took us to snorkel in some great places. Got to swim/snorkel with the sharks and that was so fun.

This is kind of a mixed review , due to there were a few bumps along the way.
The side-by-side’s adventure was fun. Unfortunately, there was not a lot of mud, but we had a good time. I would prefer it if we were in the side-by-side a little longer. But my husband and I enjoyed taking turns driving the side-by-side and the beach they brought us to was beautiful. Note: bring tissue paper if you plan on using the bathroom as there was none there, which made it a little bit difficult lol.
The cenote was a lot of fun too. The cool water was very refreshing! And we had a good amount of time there to enjoy it
They took us to a shop where I was hoping we would learn more about the culture and how they make coffee and chocolate, etc. instead, it was just a brief amount of information and basically trying to get us to purchase product. That was disappointing the taste testing was a fun.
Where we ran into the problem was when we were brought back to our hotel and we were told we would be picked up by 1:20 in the lobby. No one came to pick us up at all and we did not receive any email or notification that they were running late. We waited for over an hour and we had sent out several WhatsApp messages as well as emails inquiring what was going on. Due to unfortunately lack of communication and the language barrier we had to get the concierge at our hotel to contact through WhatsApp. An agent.
When they finally came to get us unfortunately, my husband was quite sick and could not attend, but they would not let us on the bus because the reservation was four and the driver could not understand that one person was not attending. By now it was well past two hours past the pick up time which meant we were going to have no time on this excursion for the catamaran part. Our concierge was able to help us get picked up on Saturday afternoon which was great because otherwise we would’ve been out all this money, and not have been able to do the second part of the excursion. You definitely want to do this excursion over 2 days - I highly recommend taking that option as it has a lot to do in one day.
We did have a fabulous time on Saturday afternoon. The catamaran was a lot of fun and the staff was very friendly. It was a beautiful day, the snacks were good and so were the drinks. The snorkelling was amazing. We got several pictures of cool fish. We swam with the sharks and had close up experience with the mantas. They are not lose lol I did feel bad but the staff was tentative to the animals and went over very interesting facts about sea life . I was very grateful that we were able to attend this part of the excursion
. The staff, David, and Kitson made it a memorable trip. They even helped us when we were getting off the boat and several people were coming up to us trying to get us to buy things they made sure that we were brought to our designated area safely which I really appreciated as the people on the beach were getting a little bit pushy.
I would definitely go again, as there was just a minor hiccup, and it was fixed my Viator with the help of our concierge Milton.

The dune buggies portion was a very muddy experience so be prepared for that. You need to bring a face covering of some sort. We felt rushed from one destination to the next. The stop for the cocoa and coffee farm wasn’t very informative and felt more like a quick sales pitch for the products. The transportation from the buggies to snorkeling involved dropping off others (not going on the 2nd half of the excursion) at their hotels first. The snorkeling was only about 1/4 mile off the shore and it was mediocre. The highlight of the trip was the happy hour at the end. We wished that they offered beer in addition to the rum drinks.

The transportation to and from both activities was on time and the email instructions were clear. David and his team at the Dune Buggy Adventure were focused on everyone have a safe and fun experience. They totally delivered. It was cool to experience some authentic Dominican culture. Louis and his team for the snorkeling excursion provided a memorable experience. I would recommend this excision to friends and family

Jay was a fantastic lead and the buggy, beach stop and cave diving was a blast. We also stopped to taste local coffee, cinnamon and chocolate which was fun! Vendors everywhere but we bough fun stuff just negotiate!!! We had a great day!
Our snorkel portion was bumped to the next day. That was disappointing b/c snorkel part was 20 minutes, rest was stopping for other tours that were on our boat, too. The music was not family friendly and we ended up at a party cove. That would be fun for older kids or adults. Our snorkel day was about 1-7 but we were only in the boat for 3.5 hours so lots of waiting and walking. This would not be ideal for older or injured parties.
All in, we had a blast and so glad we booked it!

Skip the dune buggy: Macao Beach was dirty and full of very pushy vendors, cenote was crowded and full of very pushy vendors, the dune buggy ride was just okay, very dry.
boat ride: great staff, pretty decent snorkeling; although crowded with many boats and people, avoid the extra paid excursion of Dolphin and stingray/shark encounter: captive animals and very sad. party boat /sand bar was fun

Everything was great our tour guide Luis was with us the whole, constantly checking in with us to make sure we good, he transitioned us between our 2 activities with ease. The whole staff were amazing from the dune buggy leaders to the captain and crew on the boat for our snorkeling activity. They were all very professional and I would definetly this tour.

Tour starts off with trying to sell stuff and this continues throughout the day! We were all sure the buggies were going to fall apart but we did make it from start to finish. No water even provided. Expect to get dusty and need a shower! The catamaran was in rough shape, you literally go 200 yards from where you launch and snorkel in amongst 25 other boats. Then you go to a party beach were your unlimited drinks is rum and rum…..that’s it. Nachos and salsa for snacks. Best part of the whole day was the people we were with - definitely not the tour itself. If you can make it fun - go for it, but if just on it for excursion alone - save your money.

Charles did a great job of leading the dune buggy trip. The cave and beach were very cool. The catamaran trip was also fun. Not a lot of snorkeling, but at the end we were able to stand in the waist deep water while the crew supplied us with drinks. It was fun.. I would recommend it to others.

The dune buggies to the cave were fun. Jumping into the freshwater cenote was amazing. Macao beach was beautiful. The second part of our day not as much. We were picked up and taken to the beach where we had to wait at least 45 minutes for another group to arrive. Then we all got on the boat. We then went to let these late comers go swim with sharks while everyone else had to wait on the boat. After another 30 minute wait or so we finally get to our snorkeling spot. This was great. Ended up on a sunset cruise because of all the delays we were about 2hours behind. Get back to the beach we were walked to a place and they told us to wait basically in this ghetto alley that smelled of raw sewage for about 15 minutes. Very disappointing

We did the dune buggy adventure with Charley and the Snorkeling Cruise with Luis! Honestly it was a great experience. I would give it 5 stars, if not for the communication and the condition of the buggies. Just to explain each part, the original email stated that we would be taken to our hotels in-between the buggy and the snorkeling to eat lunch and clean up- because you definitely get muddy! (Which is honestly super fun). However, after the buggy tour, they told us we didn’t have time to go back to the hotel and they were taking us straight to the snorkeling meeting point. No showers, no hotel, no change of clothes. We’re assuming this was a miscommunication, because when we got to the snorkeling meeting spot there were still about 2.5 hours until snorkeling started. Luis was an AMAZING tour guide and gave us food and water, but we would have loved to go home and clean up.
Also, my only other issue was the buggy conditions. The buggies were SO fun, and I would highly recommend it. Unfortunately, ours, along with quite a few other members in our group, wasn’t working 100%. At first, we were terrified because we were at the back of the group and our buggy stopped working in a water puddle. It took about 5 mins for their mechanic to come help us, but we had no idea that he was on his way so we thought we were stranded in the middle of rural Dominican Republic! But they did come back and fix it! Our vehicle broke down about 5 other times and the mechanic came back to jerriwrig it back up.
Honestly, we had SO much fun and loved the tour! I just wanted to point out a few issues we encountered. The friendliness made up for the anxiety/ panic we felt at the vehicles breaking down and the weird 2 hour wait, but I wouldn’t suggest for someone who isn’t adaptable and doesn’t want to be out all day.
