Perfect from start to finish! Open air bus to the ATV was short and upon arrival check-in was fast and efficient. My family and I loved the entire adventure. The buggies and ATVs ran great and the sites along the way were very interesting. Richard and his team were very welcoming, courteous and so helpful I do not hesitate giving this adventures 5 stars! We will be back!

We had a great time. 4 hours riding ATVs going to the beach and jumping in a cenote. We got to try local coffee, green tea, mamawana, and chocolate. 8 year old was entertained the whole time. Price was incredible for the value. Also included hotel pick up

We had an awesome family adventure doing the dune buggies with DCS Tours! From the very beginning, the experience was great. The initial chat with the owner was super easy, responses were fast, and he even called me before booking to answer my questions because I wanted to make sure everything was safe for our kids. That personal touch meant a lot. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and introduced to the crew. We also had a small presentation about cocoa, coffee production, and local products. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. The kids loved the coco loco (fresh coconut drink), and enjoyed picking out a few small souvenirs. We got to taste cocoa, green tea, and mamajuana, honestly the best mamajuana I tasted in the DR! They kindly offered us a buggy with a roof to help protect the kids from the sun, which I really appreciated. The buggy ride itself was exactly what we hoped for: muddy, rough, wild, and so much fun. My 7-year-old and I laughed the whole way, especially when I sped through the mud. My husband and 10-year-old had a blast too. We got separated but an easy fix after asking the staff to put us back together at the cenote. We stopped at a small local shop, grabbed a couple of beers, danced a little while the kids ate sandwiches I had brought from the hotel, then headed to the cenote. It was busy, but everything moved smoothly. We rented life vests for $2 and had a great swim. After that, we drove to Macao Beach, another fun, bumpy ride. The beach was beautiful and a perfect stop. We had drinks there and just enjoyed the scenery. Back at the shop, we bought the photo package for $40 and received beautiful pictures, honestly one of the best-value photo packages we found in the DR. Overall, such a fun day. The staff were welcoming, thoughtful, and always checking that we were okay. Just come with the right expectations: you’re in the DR for an adventure, not a luxury North American excursion. It was wild, bumpy and the buggies were not new but everything went smoothly. We loved it and will recommend DCS Tours for families looking for fun and real memories!

Good local treats tasting, friendly workers, fun ride! I recommend if you love adventure. The cenote is only enjoyable if you can swim.

      An Unpleasant Swindle

      Levi_S, Jul 2026
My expectations for this experience were too high. I was thankful we were able to be transported to the experience from our resort despite the poor communication from the DCS Tours group. Upon arrival, the scene was very chaotic. No one welcomed us and the staff that were present were not friendly. There were no clear directions on how to get checked in and waivers completed. Before we actually got to experience the buggy ride, we sat through a presentation about local goods. Steve, the lead, was entertaining! Little did we know that their efforts in getting us to buy their products was just the beginning of a day of being swindled by locals throughout the experience. We did purchase bandanas to cover our mouths which were absolutely needed with the amount of dust flying in your face. We finally were able to get into the buggies, again with no direction from staff. The buggies were started and stopped by the twisting of wires. Our seatbelts were tied to the bars, with no buckles at all. Our first and only experience of going through mud was a man-made pit at the very beginning that was filled with hot, muddy water that smelled very unpleasant. We went down a few roads in a long caravan to the water cave. This is where the swindling by the locals really became overwhelming. Some of the reviews say they were not pushy but I disagree. When we finally got down into the cave, it was chaotic yet again. No sense of safety or security in the area. We did get to jump in for a brief moment. But suddenly the area became so crowded with various other buggy groups. This also made the experience unbearable. We returned to the buggies and proceeded to Macao Beach. The swindling at this beach made the whole experience extremely unpleasant. The beach appeared beautiful but our group was not able to enjoy it. In fact, we had various animals (parrots and iguanas) placed on us without our consent and then we were asked to pay $100USD for pictures with them. After we ate a brief snack, which was significantly overpriced, we returned to the buggies and went back to the main facility. The lady that checked us in did ask about experience. They did have a photographer who did take some great photos of our experience. Again, there was no clear direction about how to obtain the photos or pricing. Our transport vehicle finally arrived to take us back to our resort. Not a single staff member thanked us for participating or wished us well. Our group felt like we were treated like a pack of walking dollar signs. I would recommend finding a different excursion.

Great all around. Buggy ride was fun, cave water was nice, and beach was relaxing. My friend and I lost track of time at the beach and missed our group back. When we realized our group is no longer there workers at the beach reached out to the tour folks and they came and got us. Once we got to our original start spot, items we had purchased were waiting for us and they arranged for another driver to take us to our pickup point since we missed our tour bus back. It was totally our fault but the folks were very accommodating and really great. I highly recommend this excursion!

      It was amazing

      Regina_D, Jul 2026
We rented ATV, but got some buggy vehicle. Something we didn't want. The ride was not exciting as I thought it would be. They made us stop at the vendor shops to purchase items. We couldn't really ride the bike/cars like that. It was slow paced and tiring. Did the cliff jump you have to pay to rent life jackets which is crazy!!!! Cliff jump was cool and refreshing would do that again, but the ATV experience I could've done without. Honestly

      Very fun experience....

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such a fun time on this buggy tour! The ATVs were a blast, and the guides kept the group organized while making sure everyone had a great experience. We loved stopping at the water cave to swim and visiting Macao Beach—it was beautiful and definitely a highlight of the day. Be prepared to get very dusty and muddy, which just adds to the adventure! I recommend bringing sunglasses or goggles, a bandana, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Overall, it was a great way to experience Punta Cana, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting excursion.

Amazing. It’s perfect if you want a little bit of everything without being completely burnt out after

      Just OK

      Deron_L, Jul 2026
Too many people to enjoy. You can tell they are trying to maximize the money. If you can find one thats costs a little more but has less people i would go that route. Plus you know they have to try and sell you additional stuff. They have a 15 min presentation at the beginning. The cave had too many people as well. The constant starting and stopping while actually driving was also annoying. They should find a better route that lets people actually enjoy the driving. Also, we booked ATV’s but only got dune buggy things instead. Which was fine but not what we booked. To top it off, the beach was trashy. Just temper your expectations with this. Its fun but could be have more thought put into it.

      Hard pass

      Courtney_H, Jul 2026
We did not really care for this tour . The buggy was somewhat fun, but the whole thing was a bit sketchy and chaotic. The people working at the check in area were not friendly. The cenote area was so crowded that we didn’t even jump in, and the environment did not feel safe……lots of vendors, people loitering around, multiple buggy tours all over the place. Macao beach was the best part….it is very pretty. However, I would not do this tour again. One lady fell out of her buggy into a ditch. We passed another buggy tour that had a wreck and there was a lady laying across her seat that looked injured.

We enjoyed seeing the DR off resort

      Tara_R, Jul 2026
We were picked up at our resort and traveled by open air bus to the location. It was a little chaotic getting checked in and put into groups but it was fine. We did the shared buggy so 2/buggy. Christopher was our tour guide and he was AMAZING! We traveled as a large group through the DR countryside and was able to see homes, school, farms etc. The cenote was awesome and we had a lot of fun there. Vendors were selling items but we never felt anyone was pushy. We traveled to a beach and swam for a bit and also got to learn about products made in the DR. There was a lot of buggy time and you definitely get dirty. We brought our own bandanas and wore sunglasses and we were fine. Also plenty of room for our dry bag which held our water and towels after cave and beach. Again, Christopher was great and always checking and engaging with our group. I didn’t give it 5 stars just because our group had a few cars with mechanical issues. We had two that had to be replaced bc they wouldn’t stay running and they got them switched out fairly quickly. We also had a few drivers complaining they had to push brakes with two feet to get them to work. One even ran off to side of car in front of them afraid they wouldn’t stop. Seatbelts are tied across you on a bar. Not dealbreakers for our experience as we still had a great time however we had two tour guides and I felt Christopher paid attention to every detail while his partner didn’t give as much attention to make sure all secure. Not sure how I’d have felt not having Christopher as our guide. We shared a van with another family on way back to resort and they too shared they requested a new vehicle bc of brakes and was able to get one to complete the tour. We were able to buy all of our photos at end for $70 which was good for our large group. You will have fun and request Christopher because he’s awesome!!!

It was fun, buggy worked well and the cave and beach were good experiences. I did not like the trying to sell overpriced souvenirs however, but they were not too pushy. All in all very worth while experience.

      Fun and dusty

I loved the adventure but I dont like that I was told to get glasses for a mud experience. I was shown a video of going fast through mud and its at the start and thats it. A bit disappointing. Other than that, you're not going fast, you're just cruising and thats all.

      Dune buggy fun

      Joshuah_D, Jul 2026
It was a fun experience. The cenote is great to jump in. Somewhat small, so access is limited but quick. Beach is very pretty and clear water. Little bit of garbage. My buggy had some issues making it difficult to drive, but that did not seem to be the case for most, so just bad luck. You will get muddy but that is part of the fun. If you dont like that, then dont go. Seconds stop is a sales pitch, but some souvenirs if you are interested.

      Excellent time

      Ronald_V, Jul 2026
Stay beside your phone w/i an hour leading up to pickup. I missed their call but the were gracious enough to come back and get my wife and I. I left a good tip.

      Dirty fun

      Amanda_S, Jul 2026
We heard the mud horror stories but fortunately we went after a dry spell and had a dusty, not muddy ride. Face & eye coverings are a must. We brought bandannas & sunglasses from home, which worked fine. The cave and underground pool was cool. The visit to Macao Beach was brief, barely enough time to get a drink & put your feet in the water, though the tour description describes time to swim and relax. The tastings & info session on cocoa, coffee, tea, mamajuana was interesting with funny, entertaining commentary. You are given a chance to buy products after, which are extremely overpriced. Bargaining/negotiating is highly recommended. Overall a fun way to get around and see some different sights

It was a really fun experience driving the buggy but also a little scary if you’re not used to off road. You WILL get mud on you. Be sure to bring a bandana/sunglasses. Bandana is $5. Also sandals were ok to wear. I prob recommend it compared to tennis shoes since you’ll go in the water at the cave/beach. I wasn’t a fan of the advertising products since it took ~1 hour to go through it. We did like the photos. They sold the photos to us for $50.
