Itinerary

Be ready bright and early for pickup at your Bavaro or Punta Cana hotel.

Board an air-conditioned coach for the journey to Santo Domingo, where you'll stop first in the old city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Santo Domingo was founded soon after Columbus' landing, in 1498, and is the the site of may of the New World's firsts.

Stop at the coral limestone-constructed Basilica Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor, the Americas' oldest cathedral. Visit the house of Diego Columbus, the National Pantheon, the Ozama Fortress, the Torre del Homenaje, and the Casas Reales Museum. You'll also browse the local craft markets and stop for a local lunch midday in a Santo Domingo restaurant.

Return to your hotel in Punta Cana or Bavaro for drop-off at the end of your tour.

If 10 hours between the bus ride...

If 10 hours between the bus ride, bathroom breaks, and gift shops sounds like a good time to you you've found the right tour. Maybe 2-3 hours of actually touring the city. Waste of time and money.
