We had a wonderful time exploring the charming town of Cesky Krumlov with our knowledgeable tour guide named Ivan (female). The castle, square, and town are picturesque with plenty of dining options. We arrived at the perfect weekend as it was hosting a renaissance fair. The bus ride was fairly easy with one pitstop at one of the cleanest gas station I’ve ever seen. Highly recommended for families without any mobility issues.

Magical Cesky Krumlov

Rosalynn_C, Dec 2025
It’s an unforgettable trip. It’s magical and the tour guide was great. In my opinion this place is a bucket list for all.

Too long a drive for very little time in Cesky Crumlov

Alexandria_F, Oct 2025
You’re on the bus for 5+ hours round-trip, I have an hour walking tour if you want to take it, two hours free time, then an hour castle tour. Then you drive home. We opted out of the walking tour as well as the castle tour just to have more time in the town. I would recommend people do the castle tour, but skip the walking tour still. The town is cute, but not worth walking around any longer than the two hours. Although if you eat anywhere, it will take you a good two hours waiting on the check and getting service.

Great Place to Visit at Slower Pace

Gerard_I, Sep 2025
Cesky Krumlov is a great place to take a break and slow down. The palace is definitely worth the trip. Our guide was adequate, have had other guides through Viator who were much more informative. The bus ride was a nightmare - look, if you have a nasty cough and hacking away DON'T GET ON THE BUS!! Two and a half hours on the bus with a group of 6 people coughing and not even covering their mouths was just disgusting and rude.

Trip on Aug 19,2025. Well...

Trip on Aug 19,2025. Well organized trip with Peter at the helm. Smaller group which was good as we kept with timelines. Peter’s lunch recommendation was delicious. Peter provided lots of historical facts and good humour.

Wonderful trip

Sundaravadivel_G, Jun 2025
The trip was excellent, except for pick up from hotel. Viator should specify exactly who will come to meet at pick up point, there was no Viator sign board, nor the meeting person description and identification was not mentioned.

Stacey_F, May 2025
CESKY KRUMLOV is a charming town. We loved our time to explore on our own as well as the guided tour to show us picturesque points and the castle. It was a lovely day!

CK town is definitely worth to go

Winnie_L, May 2025
It is an easy way to go to CK. Enough time to walk around the little town. The guided tour in the castle was tight on time.

Best Guide ever…..Helen!

lauriebauer, Apr 2025
This was a highlight of our trip…..and it was all due to our guide, Helen. She was a walking encyclopedia of Czech history. As soon as the tour began, Helen informed us on what to expect for the day(always appreciated) and then began describing our surroundings. The first half hour of the tour I learned more than I did on two other city tours combined. Her descriptions and storytelling continued the entirety of the trip. I have never seen such dedication to a role of tour guide… ever. I am definitely not a history buff, but Helen’s storytelling style kept me interested throughout. I can’t begin to explain how much I enjoyed her! She was the best guide I have ever had and she made me want to learn more about Czech history. Thank you, Helen!!!

Good tour to take

Lalit_J, Mar 2025
Great experience and very interesting... Good for everyone... Great view of Castle and city...Lunch was also good

A small pretty town, only go if everything is open.

Karen_B, Mar 2025
Do not go if it’s bad weather as it was freezing rain all day and you have 3 hours to kill in the afternoon after lunch and a lot of sights were shut. Helen was a great guide, very passionate and made it interesting. Lunch was good, 3 courses which replaced the entry to the castle as it’s shut in Winter. The driver was good on the way but on the way back he was driving far too fast, speeding and pulled out on a car beside us which was a close call, and then was driving very aggressively weaving in and out of the traffic on the motorway at speed. When we got back to Prague he had to do an emergency stop as he nearly ran down a female pedestrian on a zebra crossing. She was shouting at him in Czech. Not a good experience. I got out the transit van early , and not where I got on, because of the driver. Helen was an excellent guide so not her fault.

Amazing

It is a must to be visited when you are in Prague. The experience is amazing and the place is consider one of the UNESCO wonders

Nice day trip from Prague

Namrata_P, Oct 2024
When I booked via Viator, I wasn't sure what to expect! Fortunately it turned out to be a great experience! Our tour guide Susanna was very knowledgeable and gave an intro on Prague and Cesky Krumlov in the bus. We had few hours in this beautiful town and guided tour to the castle which was included within the price. Overall it was well organised and I would highly recommend to anyone who would like to do a day trip to Cesky Krumlov!

Step back in time and history.

Rhonda_N, Sep 2024
My second visit here - it’s that good and wanted to share it with my husband. Step back in time with this medieval town.

Didn’t get to go

Ashley_C, Sep 2024
I did not get to go on this trip. I got stuck in traffic. I did find three numbers I called all three could not get anyone on the phone. I was a few minutes late. I get that the bus left because they have to be on time but if they gave me five more minutes, I would’ve been there. I went on another day trip instead it was OK but still, this trip was more expensive. I asked for a partial refund. They said they can give it to me since I was late which I do understand I was but if someone would’ve just answered the phone I just five minutes.

An enriching experience

Luiza_K, Sep 2024
The views of the castle and valley. The natural setting. The picturesque streets and the delicious food. The knowledgeable guide of the castle tour.

Love the tour

Wang_G, Sep 2024
Small group with the guide Helen, a wonderful experience of Krumlov! Love the weather, it’s a fantastic season for traveling!

Fantastic Cesky Krumlov!

Mary_M, Sep 2024
This is an amazing town. No matter how you get there, it is well worth the trip. The bus was comfortable and the guide told us a lot about Czechia on the drive there. He also gave us a brief tour of Old Town Cesky Krumlov. Then a LOT of free time for lunch, shopping, etc. which was great. Finally a guided tour of the castle. Highly recommend.

A Postcard Village

Karen_B, Aug 2024
Such a beautiful place well worth the long drive there and back, the guides English wasn't very good so didn't understand much of the commentary.

Lovely medieval town

David_S, Aug 2024
Cesky Krumlov is a lovely medieval town with a large castle. Our guide Helen was excellent - very knowledgeable and well organised. Just be warned that it’s a long drive, a bit over two hours each way,

Lost at Cesky Krumlow

Linda_D, Jul 2024
The Palace and surrounds. I had trouble returning to the Palace meerting place and, despite my best efforts to contact viatour by phone I had no success with contacting somene to locate the meeting point. I missed the Palace tour - very disappointing! Viatour needs to make itself more accessible to its customers on tour day. I've used Viatour many times before and not had this problem.

Southern Bohemia charming town

Hilda_d, Jul 2024
Beautiful castle and town. The castle tour was informative, the castle boasts wonderfully decorated halls, chambers, etc. Picturesque, quaint little shops, restaurants bordering the river.

Cesky highlights

Eliana_S, Jun 2024
A long day of travel but tour is small group mini van and allows a good amount of free time at Cesky to explore and also an included tour of the castle. Guide Olec was friendly, informative and helpful with suggestions of what to see and do. A beautiful place to visit.

Lovely town even in the rain!

LillianS, May 2024
Tour guide, not sure if it was Olie or Olek, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Castle tour was interesting and the time spent exploring the town was lovely. Rained all day and still had a wonderful time.

UNESCO site not to miss

Joy_T, May 2024
Found the guide difficult to hear on the minibus. Enjoyed the free time around the town prior to the guided tour. Tour guide in Cesky Kromlov was excellent and learnt a lot of Czech history.

Great trip

SMRITI_J, May 2024
Lovely trip . Beautiful sights. Very well organised . Would highly recommend. The guide was excellent

lovely day

Tanya_G, May 2024
Our guide Peter definitely kept us entertained. If you're lucky enough to get him ask him about Duran Duran. :) Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful town. Peter gave us some lunch recommendations. We had plenty of time to walk around. The castle tour was nice and has a lot of history. There are some hills to climb getting up to the town from the parking lot and other areas so be aware of that.

An amazing excursion

Teresa_M, May 2024
Peter kept us entertained with personal stories and he had a wealth of knowledge regarding the history. A beautiful old town. Peter kept us right on time

Totally worth it
