Our bunker tour in Prague with Stan was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought so much depth to the experience. You can tell he genuinely cares about the history, pulling in insights from locals and his own research. It made the tour feel authentic and memorable. We learned a lot and would absolutely recommend!

The tour guide was animated and informative. The tour was interesting and we saw parts of Prague that are off the beaten path!

Great Insight to the Thinking

Kevin_C, Jul 2026
Really gives an understanding of the bunker approach as well as why it would not have succeeded. I didn't realise how extensive the number of bunkers were.

Worst tour in Prague

Andrea_T, Jul 2026
Our expectation was that we would learn about communism and the effects on the Czechs and how it was overcome. However, what we were met with was a guide, Stan, that immediately was disrespectful to generations (Gen Z, Millenials, etc) as well as to specific types of economic systems. I fully support having your own opinion and being and to voice it, but this entire tour was full of his personal rhetoric. We did 8 tours through Viator while we were in Prague and this is the only one that was a waste of money and time. The best thing we got out of it was we stayed on the tram at the end of the tour and took it to paddle boating. 100% would not recommend and would not have given it even 1 star except it wouldn’t let me not select a star.

Jade_F, Jul 2026
Unfortunately it wasn't my favorite tour, even though I am very interested in the history of Czechia during the USSR. A good portion of the tour time is just spent traveling between locations. Our guide made it very political and I didn't feel like much history was given beyond a few basic facts I already knew, and then various offhand political comments. I honestly don't care if the guide wants to make it political (and I agreed with him at times), it's just that 30% or more of the content shared (ie, time on the tour) was either jokes, or political statements that were irrelevant to the history of the place. The bunker was cool (literally-- good escape from heat) but the mannequins did feel a bit cheesy.

Great personal perspective.

Robert_W, Jul 2026
Our tour guide had direct experience with the communists and had an amazing personal experience with the subject matter. It gives you a deeper understanding of what it was like back then. The bunker is decorated with artifacts and information. The walking is moderate and there are many stairs during the tour.

Lado was great

Tomer_P, Jun 2026
Lado was an outstanding tour guide. His tour about the Soviet occupation of the Czech Republic was both informative and thought-provoking. He explained the historical events in a clear and engaging way, making it easy to understand the impact they had on people's daily lives. What I appreciated most were his insightful perspectives on the differences between life under a dictatorship and life in a democracy. He encouraged the group to think about history from multiple angles and provided fascinating context that went beyond the typical facts and dates. I highly recommend Lado to anyone interested in Czech history and the social and political changes that shaped the country.

Bunker Tour

Great tour. Very interesting and well organized. Charles our tour guide was great and very informative.

Contains a lot of walking to get to the bunker.

karen_w, Jun 2026
I did not know there was a lot of walking plus a tram ride to get to the bunker otherwise I wouldn’t have booked it. It was 37c out and I have a heart condition. I had to pull out of the tour. The guide seemed nice though.

Patrick was an amazing guide. He showed us the bunker but also told us stories from his own experience and that if his family and friends.

A glimpse of life under the Communist Regime

ROGER_P, Jun 2026
L our guide was very good, informative, energetic and willing to answer our questions … plus he managed to keep the group together on two tram trips … this tour certainly exposes you to what life must have been under the Communist regime … you will enjoy it

Nuclear bunker and Communism Tour

Stephen_B, Jun 2026
It was a very unique experience and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and it was very well presented and structured. You need a reasonable fitness level to manage the stairs in the bunker

Highly recommend the tour.

Melanie_B, Jun 2026
We had a really passionate guide who had grown up in the communist era himself. It was a fascinating few hours, hearing history from a different perspective. Highly recommend the tour.

Great walk

Derek_L, Jun 2026
Very interesting walk really enjoyable. It included a trip to a nuclear bunker and entry to it. A really special experience for me.

History redefined.

Ben_P, Jun 2026
Wow, the story behind the history from a guide that lived through this era is next level. History redefined. Wear some good walking shoes, and pack a light jumper for the bunker, it’s a little fresh 20m underground.

Not recommended

Steve_B, Jun 2026
The time spent in the bunker was too long and the guide's description of the communist occupation was presented in an angry manner such that it was uncomfortable at times.

Ask for Stan!

Rebecca_R, Jun 2026
Stan was excellent - great stories from his real life experience with communism. He had a great sense of humor as well. Loved this experience!!

Excellent experience. Learnt lots.

Joanne_L, Jun 2026
Take a jacket. It’s cold in the bunker. Lots of steps.an experience you won’t forget in a hurry. Leader very knowledgeable about the era

Great tour. Do it. Loaded with history and amazing sites.

John_G, Jun 2026
So interesting. Lots of facts & history. Steve was a very knowledgeable guide, dropping all sorts of tidbits from his years living in Prague in his very relatable Canadian delivery. A great combo. Sites were fantastic and I returned to explore some other side recs he’d mentioned.

Alert. This Is a Long Visit to and thru a Nuclear Bunker. It Does Not Include Entry into the Communism Museum.

Judy_G, Jun 2026
Average to poor rating for two reasons: We were under the impression this activity included a visit to Prague's Communism Museum. Instead it was a lengthy under-ground tour of a portion of one of Prague's Nuclear Bunkers...with lengthy walks to/from the Tram. Our guide's take on the history and impact of communism in the region was most entertaining. However, his monologue was sprinkled with inappropriate language. E.g. unnecessary profanity weakened the veracity of his message.

Communist and Bunker Tour

Denise_O, Jun 2026
Our guide did not tell us his name but was very entertaining. The tour takes you through Old Town and on a Tram.

Stan was awesome! 5/5!

jana_g, Jun 2026
Stan was hilarious but also really informative. As someone who actually lived through the velvet revolution, getting his insight was really fascinating. My kids were blown away by some of his stories - this is not to be missed!

Worst tour

MilagrosAngelica_O, Jun 2026
One of the worst tour we had been. The guy was not objective. It was like propaganda and indoctrination

Cool tour - Stan (tour guide) was fantastic.

Jim_D, Jun 2026
The tour was extremely interesting and our guide, Stan, was fantastic - funny, engaging and knowledgeable. This was a fairly last minute addition to our vacation but I'm REALLY happy we added it in. I definitely recommend this.

Bunker Tour

Charlotte_T, Jun 2026
The tour was very informational—mainly because our tour guide Stan lived through the communist regime change. He was a great story teller and brought the history alive.

Interesting

Rayner_L, Jun 2026
Interesting insights to the tour if you are interested in history, but it take closes to three hours though

Just great!

Aimee_H, Jun 2026
This was a fascinating tour. It was my son’s favorite part of our trip to Prague. Patrick was a great guide and story teller.

Eye opening visit

Martine_C, Jun 2026
Very interesting with personal perspective of the guide. Goes above basic information. Talked about the real life under the communist regime.

Great Experience

Sanjay_K, Jun 2026
Great in-depth experience. Highly recommend to all travelers who want to understand communist history of Czech Republic.
