An incredible opportunity to hear first hand from L that has been through the communist times Passionate storyteller to say the least. The history of the buildings and how innocuous they look now to what they were used for back in the communist era is chilling at times Then the trip to the bunker was great finale today It was fascinating You should do it

Excellent information given and a very interesting experience as you dive deep into Cold War Czech life. Katarina was our guide and she did a marvelous job giving the information and sprinkling it with personal anecdotes about her family. The visit to the bunker was really the icing on the cake. Well done! We enjoyed it very much

Great context on the history of Comunism in the area. Really enjoyed the insights and seeing some of the artifacts in the bunker.

One of Pragues greatest activities

Caylen_M, Aug 2026
Experience was truly fantastic. Guide had many great insights and was clearly passionate about sharing the country's history. The tour around the nuclear bunker was a clear standout and a highlight of my entire trip. However, those with mobility issues may find the tour too intensive as you are walking for much of the tour, with the bunker itself only being accessible by a steep and narrow staircase and having an uneven floor throughout.

Great tour

Vanessa_P, Aug 2026
A walk around central Prague, learning a bit about the countries political past. Then a tram to the nuclear bunker, with many steps to enter. A very interesting tour with Maki

Dark communist parts of Prague

Wayne_B, Aug 2026
See the darker parts of recent history and the underground bunker built for nuclear war expected with the USA. Our guide grew up under the communist system and had a lot of information to make us feel lucky that communisms is in the past.

Very well organised tour with knowledgeable guide. Maki was very well informed, helpful, responding to all the questions.

A real story of communist Czechoslovakia

Shannon_G, Aug 2026
Fantastic tour. Lada was a truly great guide, he gave us a real insight in to life growing up in communist Czechoslovakia. Going into the bunker was a highlight. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Great insight into modern history and politics of Czechia.

Stephen_M, Aug 2026
My 16 year old thought this was great like I did. My hard to please 14 year old thought it was boring. Younger kids in our group liked it. Stan the guide was living history, engrossing to hear from someone with (unfortunate) direct experience with the secret police.

Insightful and engaging tour

Camille_C, Aug 2026
The tour was insightful and engaging. Our guide Katerina was terrific! She brought a personal touch to the events of the cold war by sharing how that time impacted her family. The nuclear bunker was wild. There were artifacts and a small museum inside. It was very clear how propaganda about nuclear war shaped the times.

Czech history lesson tour

Erik_W, Aug 2026
Outstanding level of knowledge by tour guide regarding communist history of Czech Republic. Guide was able to explain history and transition to democracy.

Great history lesson with a lot of fun!

Danielle_R, Aug 2026
We loved this tour! Our tour guide was great - he was so full of life and energy, was very passionate about the history and made it exciting and fun. We liked that the group was small too. We had our 16 year old daughter with us and it was a great history lesson for us all. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Karel is the best!

ChunChen_Y, Aug 2026
Karel is a very knowledgable guide! He explained every piece of Czechoslovakia history very clearly and succinctly. He was also very happy to answer any question or even just chit-chat. I learned a lot of history with not much of prior knowledge.

Historically interesting, well organised, friendly and informative. Good combination of personal experienced and historical fact.

Expected a History Tour, Got a Political Lecture

dsbowienyc, Aug 2026
The tour got off to an uncomfortable start. When the guide asked where I was from and I replied, "New York," he responded, "The center of all our problems." This was a highly politicized tour. Throughout the experience, the guide repeatedly focused on the evils of communism. While I am not a supporter of communism, I am also not an uncritical supporter of capitalism. I believe both systems have their shortcomings. What I found particularly concerning was that the guide consistently used the terms socialism and communism interchangeably, as though there were no distinction between them. Democratic socialism and communism are not the same, yet he presented them as equally problematic. We spent nearly two hours in a bomb shelter while the guide continued an extended political commentary about the former communist regime in Czechoslovakia. He also argued that many former communists had simply changed political parties but remained in positions of power and continued to enrich themselves. By the end, the experience felt more like a political lecture than a historical tour.

Eye opening experience

Megan_C, Aug 2026
This tour was amazing! The beginning, along the city streets, was difficult to hear at times with the construction, but the nuclear bunker portion was riveting. We were captivated by Katarina’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. It is cold in the bunker, so bring layers!! The tour is a bit long, but you will be moving throughout the city, so it flew by! Enjoy!

Awesome tour back in time to the 50s

Juan_V, Jul 2026
I had done this tour 2 years ago when I visited Prague alone. I took my 80 year old mother and she totally loved it. It was fun to see bunker again. Our guide was excellent. Young man who truly enjoys what he does and was super engaged with every single person in our group. 5 stars to our guide. It is a fun tour where you will learn about life in Prague under communism.

Fantastic!!

Julia_B, Jul 2026
A lot of walking from landmark to landmark. Tour guide L was passionate and informative. Incredibly interesting to hear personal accounts during this tour. It made it that much more impactful. Definitely recommend to anyone!

Very Interesting.....

KennethGary_S, Jul 2026
Great Tour, Patrik was an excellent guide with great knowledge. Nuclear Bunker was very interesting and worth visiting. One point I would add is that there is a lot of walking to the Tram and a steep staircase going down in the Bunker so if you have mobility issues this tour is not for you. Great value for money and recommended....👍

Amazing!

Mary_N, Jul 2026
Great tour to understand how horrible communism was/is!! Our guide's parents were part of the velvet revolution so she was incredibly knowledgeable to explain the events. Highly recommend this tour!

Annette_B, Jul 2026
Our guide, Stan, was passionate about the historical significance of what we were seeing, and the relevance to what’s occurring in the world today. This tour was a stark reminder of how things were not so long ago.

As advertized

Arieel_F, Jul 2026
As advertized. Note that the bunker requires a tram ride to the other side of town (included in the price).

Fantastic, educational tour!

fderebery, Jul 2026
Stan was an absolute fantastic tour guide! We got to hear from a citizen who lived part of his life under Communism. His perspective of the different political ideologies and governments around the world was very much received, respected, and appreciated. He also has a fantastic sense of humor which made the time spent even better. My family and I have traveled extensively and taken many tours through the years and this one ranks up at the top. I 10/10 recommend this tour and hope you get Stan as your guide! Signed, A Traveling family from Texas!
