Fado music was great

Finding the entrance to this venue was a bit challenging as our Uber driver left us on the wrong side of the building based on the address provided. The discussion in the monastery was hard to hear. We thoroughly enjoyed the Fado show portion of this tour.

Thank you for your review, Kari. We are delighted that you enjoyed the Fado show in Porto. Although the correct address is clearly stated in our online bookings and brochures, GPS can confuse drivers due to our historic private monks' entrance. We also take note of your comment regarding the audio during the monastery guided tour; since this is one of the tallest churches in the city, its extreme height causes acoustic challenges, and we will work to ensure our guides are better heard. Thank you!

Monastery experience was amazing! Learning some history during guided tour. also some wine and port tasting as included. Vocal has beautiful voice and instruments just made this a unique event!

Excellent singer and musicians. Interesting venue in old monastery. Having seen a FADO show in Lisbon, this one was better and not accompanied by a mediocre dinner since there was none. Brief discussion of the monastery that was interesting but don’t know why it was advertised as a tour. But that was ok. Served two glasses of wine before the show .

Great tour, very informative guide explained about the history of the monastery , then we had a complimentary drink made by the monks , like a schnapps, followed by a lovely glass of Port . The Fado show was amazing, such talent and authentic guitar playing and the singer was superb , like an opera singer so skilled and imersed in the music....

Wonderful Show

This was a wonderful combination of a history lesson and beautiful music. Before the music we were taken into the church for a very interesting lecture on Portugal history and the church. Then we moved to a room where two musicians and a singer gave us a wonderful concert. I highly recommend this activity. It is well worth the cost.

Yes, yes, and a hundred times yes I would recommend this experience. When you arrive you are greeted with your first tasting; a liquor made at the monastery. From there you are guided into the main chapel and given some history of the building. Afterwards you are led into an adjacent room, where you will attend a beautiful and intimate fado performance. The signer and the musicians are all amazingly talented. You could see their expressions change and move with the music. To be able to watch and hear them from so close was a true gift. If I were still in the city, I would go back again.
