Itinerary
Your tour starts with pickup from your Porto hotel by air-conditioned vehicle. Sit back and enjoy the scenic about 1-hour drive to the Douro Valley, passing through the Amarante vineyards, the Serra do Marão tunnel, and Vila Real along the way.
The first stop is at the Torguiano De Sao Cristovao Do Douro Viewpoint, which offers a magnificent view over the Douro Valley. Next, take to the water for a cruise along the Douro River in a traditional “Rabelo” boat, the small cargo boats used to transport wine barrels. Continue to Pinhao, where you’ll be treated to a delicious lunch of typical Northern Portuguese cuisine accompanied by Douro DOC wines.
After lunch, visit two renowned Douro wineries, where you’ll enjoy guided wine tastings and taste local olive oils and Port wines. Finally, return to Porto via the picturesque National Road 222, where you’ll be dropped back at your hotel.

Highly recommend, it was a great experience from start to finish. The guide was an expert driver with extensive knowledge about the area, the vineyards, and the owners. It felt like we were visiting his friends and family for the day with gorgeous views and relaxed tastings.

What can I say, our Duoro valley tour with Bruno is one we will never forget! Bruno is passionate about what he does and takes great pride in growing up in the Porto region. The tour was a very full agenda: my son and I took an easy ride from Porto out to Duoro valley, stopped for some great photos, took a relaxed river cruise (with plenty of vino verde), two vineyard visits which were both spectacular, enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the top at a restaurant with epic views of the valley, all while learning a great deal about the region and its history. I would’ve kicked myself if this wasn’t part of my travel itinerary.
I can’t wait to visit again and I will request another tour with Bruno.

What an incredible day! Bruno was our host and provided one of the beat day tours we have ever taken. Bruno was very personable and strived to make sure our small group had the best Douro valley tour possible. Each vineyard gave us a personal tour and samplings of their vineyards. NO PRESSURE TO BUY ANYTHING! Enjoy the samplings and move on to the next item on the itinerary. The small, family-owned restaurant was perched on top of the valley, providing an incredible view. Highly recommend!

Pedro, our guide from Oporto Sensation Tours was OUTSTANDING!! He was chivalrous, service oriented & the tour itself was a wonderful overview of Douro Valley. The vineyards, tasting absolutely incredible Port wine and a vast variety of different Port wines. A fun experience with exceptional service! We got picked up from our hotel (not typical) on time, the ride was clean and roomy, and the itinerary was spot on. Our guide Pedro was so knowledgeable and friendly. His English was immaculate. We saw once sights and sampled a varied selection of Port wines, reds and white wines too. The scenery was spectacular with incredible views. The lunch was delicious. It was the perfect day.

First and foremost, our tour guide, Pedro, was amazing! Very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about all things related to Portuguese wine.
Once we arrived at the wineries, we loved the selection of a larger, world famous vineyard, as well as a family-owned hidden gem. As tourists it was a breath of fresh air to stop at a quaint coffee shop and delicious mountain top café full of locals.
11/10 tour, would highly recommend!
