This was such a pleasant hike. Diogo was a great guide. He was patient with us when we had some nerves about parts of the hike. He made good conversation. He was on time. Overall a wonderful experience.

Pedro was an excellent guide and really made this hike special. He was full of energy and genuinely excited to be outdoors and sharing his knowledge. He took the time to stop and explain things along the way, and even helped us take pictures and look more closely at the nature around us.
The hike itself was beautiful, with great weather and a gorgeous waterfall as the highlight. It was a little crowded around the waterfall with people swimming, but we found a peaceful spot nearby to enjoy the provided sandwich. We also explored Sanguinho village, stopped at a little café, and continued down toward the ocean.
It was a great day and I highly recommend this walk. And if you get Pedro as your guide, you’re in for an even better experience!
A wonderful hike with our great guide (forgot her name (something like Nadine?) but there can’t be too many friendly and bubbly ladies from Germany as guides there). Waterfall was great stop for lunch and cooling off. Abandoned village special to see. A wonderful day in the Azores and a highlight for sure!
I had a great time on the tour with Joao as our guide. It was as advertised, and Joao was quite knowledgeable and friendly to all of us guests. The waterfall and hike up to Sanghuino were lovely, and the scenery was stunning. As an experienced back country hiker, this was a fairly popular trail on the weekend and kind of crowded in the afternoon. I bet earlier in the morning and during the week might present less busy options for this beautiful trail and waterfall.
Claire was an excellent guide. She informed us of the different types of plants we saw along the way. She made sure to monitor the pace so that nobody was far behind. The scenery was changing and interesting.

So much more than just a hike! Dani have us in depth insight into the history and culture of Sao Miguel on the drive to the hiking spot and then we took a different route home to see and learn even more. The hike was fantastic! It was very lush and we got to not only visit the waterfall, but an abandoned village that is starting renovations. Easy hike in my opinion, but I’m a big hiker. No one in our group struggled with it, but it was a nice little work out.
Great trip. Deni was wonderful the whole trip explaining the history and the landscape of Sao Miguel. Beautiful hike and waterfalls followed by a wonderful cup of tea at the factory.
Beautiful walk to reach the waterfall and recharge with a picnic, ending the day in Sanguinho. A perfect day.
