Walk along a crater lake inside a stratovolcano on a walking tour of Lagoa do Fogo, or Fogo Lake, a protected body of water that's among the largest lakes in the Azores. Enjoyable hike in the forest and on the lake

Hugo was very good at explaining the flora and the fauna of the place, how it changed and was affected by foreign plants. The hike was around 12km, easy hike in the forest with last part outside it and usually exposed to gusty winds. We managed to see the lake as clouds were just above it. Recommend:)

Fantastic hike, weather perfect...including a tiny bit of drizzle.,,,great scenery and the picnic lunch was terrific...and I am picky...a vegetarian! Guide and driver was superb, pace was comfortable. Highly recommend it. Views totally worth the effirt,
