Itinerary
Take a break from Paris’ heavier, more significant art of the Louvre and other famous museums by checking out a more modern side of the city’s art scene—the street art of the Belleville neighborhood. With an urban-art-loving guide, walk the tourist-friendly yet un-touristy streets to see murals and other art on the sides of buildings.
This is an especially great tour for kids and teenagers who may be tired of the museums, as the colorful art that decorates these streets shows you a different piece of the city. Learn about how French singer Edith Piaf grew up in this neighborhood, and how in the 1980s, many Parisian musicians and artists moved here for the lower rents. This turned the neighborhood into an artist enclave, as industrial buildings were converted into studios and Belleville became the heart of Paris’ urban art movement.
Learn about the artists and see their work, such as Jérome Ménager’s wall fresco and the mosaic tiles by the artist known as Space Invader. Think about the differences in the works, from beautiful to funny to political. This is a leisurely paced walk, and you may just spot artists at work in front of your eyes. Each tour is different, as the canvas is ever-changing, and you are encouraged to express how you feel about the pieces, whether they’re truly art or a form of destruction—it’s your opinion.

We hit a patch of rare weather that was snowing windy and cold on our first morning in Paris. BUT Olga made the tour fantastic. She was very knowledgable had lots interesting stories and anecdotes to add about various artists, history of specific locations and works of street art. My 10 yr old son afterwards was talking about the tour for a number of days asking random questions from what Olga had shared with us. A quiet and intimate opportunity to walk the streets of Paris and learn more about the Parisian Street Art History and Culture...away from the masses and crowds.

Our guide Olga was great. Took us on a route to see some amazing street art, with lots of history and of course politics involved. Good to see so much climate related street art. We wouldn't have found a lot of the pieces without her guidance. Informative and fun walk, would recommend.

A delightful tour by an equally delightful tour guide! Our guide was very knowledgeable, very enthusiastic about the art and artists, and took plenty of time to answer questions and explain history and context. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to divert from the usual art experience in Paris and take a look at the art of expression on the streets. And believe me, there is a lot to see and take in! Truly enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end.

What a fantastic way to see the other side of Paris. Loved it. Highly recommend it. The guide was lovely.

Eloise was our guide, she was very knowledgeable and her admiration for art and artists was contageous. Not only was she well informed but well prepared and personable, devising a fun quiz for us at the end. She contextualised street art and helped us to open our eyes to this genre. We were a group of 3 two adults and a teenager, so great to have a 'bespoke' tour with coffee stop at our request.
